No matter what kind of stupid and dull person, you can read it in your heart and recite it in your mouth. People with serious sins do not need to be humble. Even if they have committed ten evils [3] and five evils [4], if they can change their minds, they can be reborn in the Pure Land. Even though their merits are small, they should not be regretful and hopeless. All over, the Buddha will come to greet him. There is a poem that says "specially call the name to the west" [5], that is to say, if you concentrate on reciting the name of the Buddha, you will be able to reach the Western Pure Land. It is said that the merit of continuously reciting the name of the Buddha is equal to sincere repentance. In other words, if you firmly believe that 'the sword is the name of Amitabha', demons and evil ways will not come to harass; All kinds of sins will be eliminated. The main purpose of Pure Land Buddhism is generally like this. However, whether you can reach the Pure Land depends on whether you are sincere. Therefore, you must firmly believe in it. If you can firmly believe in the teachings, no matter when and where Timing, all walking, standing, sitting and lying down, all body, speech and mind, never forget to recite the Buddha's teachings, and recite the Buddha's name, then when you are about to die, you will be able to escape from the world of suffering and reach the pure land of eternal life, there is no doubt about it." The lieutenant general heard. After receiving this teaching, he was very happy, and said: "I want to take the precepts immediately and practice like this. I don't know if I have to become a monk?"
