Chapter 15 Chapter fifteen

The blue dragons are victorious.Although they are not outnumbered, with the appearance of a new Aspect, the inspired blue dragons are already winning. The ritual worked; the blessing they had humbly requested of the titans was granted; the jubilant joy and comfort gave the dragons renewed energy and willpower enough to fight to protect themselves. Things shouldn't have happened like this! One wing of Arygos was bleeding from the blow Kalecgos had thrown at him, and the other side of his body was frozen as he struggled to keep flying. He felt his own weakness and fear, both of which made him extremely uncomfortable.

How did things get so horribly wrong? The only thought on Arygos' mind—like any trapped animal, he thought, with a mixture of panic and disgust—was safety.a lair.A place for him to recover, rest and reflect. There was a place where he could find peace and drive away the horror that weighed on him like a black mist. He frantically looked for traces of Kalecgos. There he was, huge, shining and proud, shining with all the power that should have been he, Arygos, the Chosen.Kalec's beloved orc clung to his back like a burr, swinging his hammer to crush the head of Arygos' twilight dragon.

Right now, he had to go to the Eye of Eternity, think there, regroup, and come up with a plan.In the most flustered moment, he remembered the core of Arcus, his father's place of refuge and shelter. The thought at least brought him some calm.Like a sick dragon, he sobbed and spread his wings and began to fly.At this moment, the air battle situation on the summit of Aoshu was beyond imagination, and he just rushed down from there like a stone. It was more like falling than flying, and it was only at the last moment that he spread his wings and glided into the entrance of the Arcus. He shuttled between the maze-like passages like lightning, his heart was beating wildly, and cold panic passed through his heart.

There it was: a foggy, spinning portal. At the other end of it is the Eye of Eternity.Alygos flew through it, revealing this tiny dimension made entirely of night sky.Once upon a time, there was a blue-gray magic platform here, on which blue dragons could walk, meditating on those fleeting secrets while resting.Once, magical runes danced here, appearing and disappearing like light, fluttering snowflakes.Once, cold stars dotted the swirling dark night sky, accompanied by a blue and white nebula. Right now, there aren't any platforms here. The platform had been shattered into a million pieces during the battle that had claimed his father's life; it still held the magical orb known as the Focusing Iris.At that time, Malygos activated and controlled this orb that had been dormant for thousands of years with his own dragon blood. With the Focusing Iris turned on, Malygos gained control of the powerful Turbulent Needles, using them to extract arcane magic from Azeroth's energy lines and channel that magic into the Nexus.A long-forgotten key, a slender breach, and the opening of the Focusing Iris lead Malygos into his life's final battle.

Even though the place reminded him of a cruel moment in his life, it was still a comfortable and familiar place, and Alygos felt relieved. He stood on a slow-moving debris, folded his wings, and opened his mouth to breathe heavily. "Arygos?" The dragon opened its eyes, spread its wings, and immediately became alert.Who dares—? "Blackmoore!" he let out a sigh of relief. "I'm glad to see you." "I wish I could say the same," said the human, stepping forward.Standing on a fragment of another platform, he boldly looked up at the hovering dragon.Blackmoore lifted his helmet, and his long black hair fluttered out.He blinked his blue eyes and looked at Arygos. "What happened? I don't know much about this dragon king, but... I don't think you were chosen."

Arygos twitched his face. "Yes. They chose... Kalecgoss." He hissed the name, deep anger and desire in his voice. "That stupid orc—he made the dragons stop supporting me. He took everything that was rightfully mine!" Blackmoore frowned. "That's not good," he muttered. "You think I don't know?" Arygos angrily slammed his tail on the debris of the platform, making it wobble. "It's all Thrall's fault. If you've killed him as planned—" The human narrowed his eyes. "That's right, and if you've become the Dragon Aspect as planned, there's no need for us to have this pleasant conversation." His voice sounded like a blow to the head. "But right now, neither of us is getting what we want, so we better let go of our anger and find a way to get it."

Humans are right.Arygos reassured himself. He needs to concentrate; that's what he's here for. "Maybe we can achieve our goals together," said Alygos. "Also keep our Twilight Priests and Deathwing satisfied." Blackmoore looked at him. "continue." "We all wanted Thrall's life. We all wanted me to be the Aspect. Come back to battle with me, King Blackmoore. Your revenge. If you kill the orc, Kalec will Knowing that not everything will turn out the way he wants it to. Any time Kalec takes a hit, the faith of those sad blue dragons will be shaken. At that point, Kalecgos will be open and I will be able to kill him .”

He was making a plan, imagining every move, and the more he talked, the more excited he was. "Once Kalecgos is slain, the blue dragons who desperately need someone to lead them will return to me—so I can gain the power of the Aspects, which should have been mine in the first place!" "Are you so sure?" Blackmoore demanded. "No... definitely. But who else might this power pass on to? I am the only one who challenges Kalek. When I show them his fragility, they will naturally go to me." Blackmoore stroked his goatee with a mail-mailed hand, considering. "I don't like odds. I'm only human. Against a dragon, or even a few dragons - but the whole legion?"

"Trust me. The day you meet Thrall is the day he dies," Alygos urged. He doesn't like to beg others, but he needs this human help. "When Thrall is dead, the blue dragons will suffer. There are still many twilight dragons in the sky. If we work together, we can do it!" The human nods. "Very good," he said. "It's a risky plan, but what's life without taking risks, huh?" He suddenly grinned, white teeth gleaming, the smile of a predator. "A little risk," Arygos said, "but so much reward." He was more pleased than he had expected. He knew this human's past and his hatred for Thrall.Blackmoore wants the orc's life.Just as Arygos wanted Kalec's life.Arygos flew to the platform where the humans were, and parked himself low to the side so that Blackmoore could easily climb onto his back.

They can do it.He knows they can.Obstacles will eventually be removed. He would be the Aspect, as he had always wanted. He flew towards the revolving portal, his mind flying with every flap of his wings.Below him, fragments of the platform swiveled, almost languidly.Arygos looked down and saw one of them turn around, revealing the Focusing Iris directly below him. The pain was sudden, shocking, and murderous; a hot blade pierced his skull. The sword in Blackmoore's hand was stabbed hard, and Arygos, who was still alive, watched a drop of red blood fall on the Focusing Rainbow, and watched it bloom vigorously. He plummeted downward and saw Blackmoore leap boldly from his back onto a slowly spinning fragment of the platform.Arygos, son of Malygos, realizes he has died for betrayal.

Thrall held the Doomhammer in one hand while raising the other.Lightning burst and deathly heat leaped between at least four twilight dragons. The attack temporarily stunned them, blackened their sides, and seared their leathery wings. They screamed in pain, maintaining their fleshy stance long enough for Thrall to jump off Kalec's back onto a twilight dragon again, bringing Doomhammer to its head. It's a pity that this blow just swept away, allowing Twilight Dragon to turn into nothingness.Thrall suddenly began to fall.He looked down and saw the snow rapidly closing in on him, but in an instant he saw Kalecgos' broad, shining blue back.Thrall landed hard, but unscathed. Just when Thrall was about to raise his head to face his next enemy, the Nexus suddenly trembled.Light seemed to erupt everywhere, and even the mighty Dragonlord turned and flew away, Thrall clutching Kalec's back. "What's wrong?" Thrall yelled. "An arcane explosion!" Kalek replied. He lowered his slender dragon neck to stare at the Nexus below, where magical energy was still bursting out, like fireworks that were about to go out. "I'm not sure what—" "Twilight Dragon!" Thrall looked around as Kalek looked down. "They are fleeing back to the temple!" "Blue dragons! Come to me!" Kalek yelled, his voice echoing and amplifying in Thrall's flesh and blood, becoming deeper and more powerful. "Our enemies are on the run - we have the upper hand! Destroy them before they return to their masters!" If Thrall thought Karek was fast before, now he could hardly breathe because the blue dragon king was flying so fast. The twilight dragons did their best to complete their frantic and sudden escape. They have no intention of fighting, and have all turned into nothingness, running away with one mind. The blue dragons responded with magical attacks. The air was bursting with pure white arcane energy, and what was shining was the icy frost and the sound of a sudden blizzard.A few dragons died in battle, but many more escaped. The blue dragons followed closely, their wills were extremely firm. Kylygosa stared, panicking, hoping with all her heart that what she was seeing didn't work out. She felt her brother's death, felt his life force, the blood of Malygos' children, being collected and channeled, a practice that was uncomfortably familiar to her.It looks like Father Twilight knows exactly what he's doing, apparently thanks to the information Deathwing provided him. A few seconds after her brother's death, a storm appeared over Wyrmrest Temple. The dark purple clouds swirled furiously like a vortex, and with a bang loud enough for Kylygosa to cry out, covering her poor human ears with her hands, the sky opened. Dazzling white light shot out from the upper chamber and the lower chamber at the same time, and a spear pierced through the heavens that the naked eye could not follow, and sank deep into the earth. She recognized it as a needle of turbulence, a tool made of arcane energy, a tool of abundant energy that almost gushed out.At one time, Malygos used them to extract energy from Azeroth's power lines and transfer it to the Arcane. This step is now reversed. This turbulent needle is drawing power from the Nexus. It was Chromatus who was pinned between heaven and earth by that needle. Almost unbelievable spikes of fel energy were burrowing into the mottled, lifeless monster.Kirygosa watched, her body trembling, she wrapped her arms around herself, avoiding the needle-prick marks and scars on her pale skin in a daze. They experimented with her.But they kept her alive for two reasons: her bloodline and her gender. "You're lucky, honey," said Father Twilight beside her. "To be able to witness this, and to help contribute to this...you are the lucky one among the dragons." "Looks like my brother contributed more," Kerri said, her voice hoarse with anger. "That's how the Twilight's Hammer rewards service and loyalty. Arygos betrayed the entire Legion—yes, the entire dragonflight—for your cause, and you killed him!" "I killed him for his failure, not his service," Father Twilight said quietly. "That's right, that's how the Twilight's Hammer rewards failure." "It seems that Deathwing is not satisfied with your progress," Kirygosa snapped recklessly. "After my poor cheated brother, you might be the next--" He jerked the chain. The chains seared her throat, turning her words into a whimper of pain. "I'll be more careful with my words, little one." She regained her breath, but for a moment she felt hopelessly alive that it seemed better for him to threaten her death than to be used as a tool to harm her own kind. She opened her mouth to sharply retort, but she heard a wild cry from the excited cultists below, stopping her words in her throat. Chromatus is on the move. The movement was subtle, almost imperceptible, but one of its paws was indeed opening and closing. The rest of him still lay there dead. Then the huge tail shook, even the movement was so light. One head—the black one—moved. Father Twilight rushed to the edge of the dais. "He lives! He lives!" His gloved hands were clenched into fists in the air.The cheers of the crowd on the ground became louder. The Needle of Turbulence pulsed, its energy pouring into the now living corpse. With each passing moment, Kylygosa felt the monster grow stronger. His other limbs began to twitch, too.The ugly heads lifted up one by one.Like the tentacles of gigantic sea creatures, they moved up and down, looking around, opening their mouths wide. All ten eyes were open and the same color, which contrasted sharply with the rest of his body. Each pair of eyes shone a brilliant purple. There was life, moving, maybe even talking, but Chromatus was broken and ugly.Bones are visible in some places. The scales have fallen off, exposing healthy and withered skin.Every head seemed to be missing something: an ear, a bleeding eye... "Cromatus!" Father Twilight called. "My son, come to me. Look at me!" One red ear moved.Green nostrils flaring. The bronze head turned slowly. One by one, each head followed awkwardly, looking out of place, until all five were looking at Father Twilight. "Our...father," said the Bronzehead in a solemn voice, though the words sounded odd at first. The purple eyes of the blue head narrowed, and their eyes fell on Kirygosa.A dark laugh came from the blue head. When it spoke it was strangely sweet, though it staggered. "Don't be afraid, little blue dragon. Your brother is alive—in me. We feel the kinship." The other heads turned, taking some interest in what the blue head was saying. "You will serve, too." "Don't even think about it!" Kirygosa screamed, her mind nearly crushed by the horror she was forced to witness. "The blue dragons will never serve you! As long as Kalecgos leads them!" She was expecting the iron chain to be pulled violently, and she was waiting for the severe pain. But Father Twilight smiled. "Don't you understand? I thought blue dragons were very smart!" She didn't want to hear it.She doesn't want to understand. But her lips couldn't help asking the question: "See what?" "What was he created for!" Kylygosa forced herself to look at Cromatus. She saw an ugly chromatic dragon, more terrible than the others because of his five heads— "No," she whispered, realizing in her heart that it was as if someone had really hit her. "No.……" "Now...now look," Father Twilight said with satisfaction, his voice full of joy. "How glorious, isn't it, this irresistible destruction is about to come? Regardless of whether the blue dragons have a dragon king now. Whether Ysera wakes up, or Nozdormu is found, or even whether the Life-Binder Really come back." He whispered his mouth against her ear, as if sharing his most personal secret, "Cromatus lives...and the Aspects die." Kylygosa lost all control of herself. She rushed screaming at Father Twilight, clawing and biting, but her simple human attack was nowhere near the enemy of his magic—or the power of the chains, for that matter. She kept yelling a meaningless word, as if that could turn around the coming disaster. "No!...No!...No...!" "Quiet!" Father Twilight yelled, pulling hard on the silver chain.Kelly fell to the floor, twitching in pain. "No, no," continued the black head of Cromatus. The hiss of the head's voice was soft and cold.Chromatus rose slowly, his movements becoming more graceful as he gradually discovered how to control his body. "Let the little blue dragon talk. It'll be sweeter after that. She'll—" The red head interrupted the black head and turned to the west.He moves, still feeling a little uncomfortable with his body. "Here they come," The voice over there was clear and strong. "I'm not fully recovered! What have you done, Father?" Then Kylygosa started laughing. She heard the sound in her own ears, and she knew it was only hysteria, but it kept coming, like a spring that had suddenly opened. She raised a trembling finger, pointing at the twilight dragons flying full force towards the temple, with her brave blue dragonflight behind them. "You miscalculated!" she cried. "Great Father Twilight, and his perfect plans! But your dragons escaped too quickly, so my dragons came to destroy them, your abomination, and you! O wise man, you are still Any plans?" Father Twilight was so furious that he didn't even bother to use the chains.Grabbing her cheek with one hand, he tossed her head aside.Kirygosa waved her hands, still smiling. "Kalecgos! Kalec!" And there he is! Her spirits were running high. His wisdom and mercy triumphed. He flew, the Lord of Magic, bigger than any other dragon, shining all over him, with a tiny figure on his back. After so, so long, the power was finally no longer wielded by a madman, or someone whose minds were only revenge or betrayal. With tears in her eyes, she cried happily. He cannot fail, and neither can any other Aspect. Before Chromatus had reached his full strength, they were on the offensive. Below her, Chromatus threw back his head and roared, all the sounds—hissing, powerful, melodious—into a horrific symphony. Then the monster rushed into the sky.He staggered, but only once; then the beating of his wings grew stronger, and he struck too. Kylygosa had many nightmares, especially in recent months when she was a prisoner, tortured every day, trapped in human form, thinking that the only rest would come with death.Yes, she had many nightmares. But none could compare to the horrific reality she was seeing now. He jerked around like a puppet, a creature that should never have existed. He was bigger than all, even Kalecgos the Dragonlord.Somehow, Chromatus's clumsy movements were faster than those of the living dragons who fought against him, and his blunt attacks were more lethal. His strength and agility surpass those of other dragons. With the white radiance of Arcana and the dark purple attacks of the Twilight dragon enhanced by other colors—the blood red of the red dragon's fire, the emerald poisonous cloud of the green dragon—Cromatus uses all the skills of the Elder Dragon to fight. She could hear the cries of victory as the twilight dragons fought with renewed fervor.Maybe not too long ago they were running with their tails between their legs, but now they are single-minded and at odds with each other. And, the sordid scene itself is disturbing. It shouldn't exist, but it is here, breathing fire, using phantoms, bringing death in its clumsy way, yet somehow so cruel and deadly. Several of Kylygosa's kin had been slain by Chromatus alone. The other terrified dragons still stared intently at the chromatic dragons, not noticing the Twilight dragons still stalking the air.She watched as a blue dragon tried to attack from behind Chromatus, but his neck was instantly snapped off by the casual sweep of the monster's powerful tail. The instantly dead blue dragon fell downward to join his companions.Kirygosa felt a pain in her heart, and she turned around to cover her face.A hand grabs her hand that covers her face and shakes them away. She looked up at Father Twilight with tear-filled eyes, barely visible under the dark hood. "See who's laughing so far, little blue dragon?" he giggled. "Your precious dragon-he's just woken up, look what he's doing! Behold!" He dragged her to the edge of the platform, grasping her chin with one hand, and steeling her hands aside with the other. "Look!" At least Kylygosa's heart is broken, she thought, and he can't force my eyes to open. Safa felt the taste of defeat spread among the blue dragonflight. He felt it too. It was a dragon, but such a dragon might be a Forsaken's worst nightmare. It has at least five heads, each of a different color, on huge shoulders. It staggered and rotted like a scourge stumbling and attacking. But it is not immortal, but alive.Every monstrous head was attacking frantically, with victory in its claws, causing the entire blue dragonflight to panic. "What is this?" he asked Kalek. The Dragon King didn't answer right away; he was busy fending off enemy attacks. Then Kalek yelled, "A chromatic dragon!" Thrall remembered that Desharin had mentioned this creature to him—a patchwork monster made up of bits and pieces of the five dragon families.De Charin said they were all dead. But apparently this one is still alive and well. Thrall looked at the monster, trying to figure out what it was and what it was doing to the blue dragonflight—even to Kalecgos, the blue dragon's new king.It was just a moment of doppelgänger, a moment of shock—but it was too long. The thing charged at them, its five heads all gaping. The smell of rotting flesh almost overwhelmed him.Kalec flew out of his path.Thrall grabbed the blue dragon with all his might. He thought he was safe, until something smashed halfway down his waist, as if he were nothing more than a flea on a wolf's back.He realized that while Kalec's flying prowess saved him from a direct attack from the multi-headed chromatic dragon, he couldn't escape the inadvertent sweep of the monster's tail as it flew by. Seems like that's how he ended up, he thought, falling from behind a dragonlord and dying on the craggy rock. He closed his eyes and held Doomhammer to his chest, glad he died with the weapon in his hand.He was curious, wondering if he would feel the impact that was about to shatter his back or his head.
