Chapter 4 Chronology of Storylines

1757 Hindley Earnshaw was born.Nelly Ding's mother took her baby Nelly to Wuthering Heights as a nanny. 1762 Edgar Linton was born. 1765 Catherine Earnshaw was born. 1766 Isabella Linton was born. In the summer of 1771, Mr. Earnshaw brought Heathcliff back from Liverpool. Lady Earnshaw died in the spring of 1773. 1774 Hindley went to college. In October 1777 Mr Earnshaw died.Hindley returns home with his wife Francis. At the end of November Catherine got into trouble at Thrushcross Grange. Catherine returns home for Christmas. In June 1778, Hareton Earnshaw was born.Francis died.Nelly Ding takes care of Hareton.

In the summer of 1780, Catherine accepted Edgar Linton's marriage proposal.Heathcliff is missing.Catherine is seriously ill.Old Mr. and Mrs. Linton died. In March 1783, Edgar married Catherine.Accompanied by Ding Naili to Thrushcross Grange. In September, Heathcliff returned. In January 1784, a quarrel broke out between Edgar Catherine and Heathcliff.Heathcliff elopes with Isabella.Catherine became seriously ill for the second time. In March, Heathcliff and Isabella returned to Wuthering Heights.Heathcliff goes to see Catherine. On March 20, Catherine passed away, leaving her newborn daughter, Catherine.

Catherine was buried on March 25th.Heathcliff went to the graveyard that night. On March 26, Isabella escaped. Hindley died in September.Heathcliff occupies Wuthering Heights. In October, Linton Heathcliff was born out of town. 1797 Isabella died. Little Katie went to Wuthering Heights for the first time. Edgar took his nephew Linton back to Thrushcross Grange.Heathcliff is going to leave his son. On March 20, 1800, little Katie went to Wuthering Heights for the second time. In the fall, Edgar fell ill with a cold. In October, Katie went to Wuthering Heights for the third time. For three weeks after this, Katie went secretly to Wuthering Heights.

In August 1801, Katie met her cousin Linton in the field, but was forced by Heathcliff to enter Wuthering Heights to marry Linton. In September Edgar Linton died.Heathcliff then digs Catherine's grave. Linton Heathcliff inherited Thrushcross Grange. In October Linton died.Heathcliff took possession of his son's estate. In November, Heathcliff lets Thrushcliff Grange to Mr. Lockwood. Mr. Lockwood visits Wuthering Heights. In January, 1802, Mr. Lockwood left Thrushcross Grange for London. In February, Nelly Ding returned to Wuthering Heights. In April, Heathcliff died. In September, Mr. Lockwood visited Thrushcross Grange and Wuthering Heights again.

On New Year's Day, 1803, Hareton Earnshaw married Katie.
