Chapter 25 Section 3 Vietnam

According to Vietnamese historical records, in 257 BC, the medical deeds of Cui Wei, a doctor of the Qin Dynasty in China, and his book "Gongyu Jiji" were circulated in Vietnam. After the Han Dynasty, people who knew medicine from our country often went to Vietnam.Since the Tang and Song Dynasties, medicines produced in Vietnam, such as betel nut, clove, sagera, and coriander, have been continuously imported into my country. In the 14th century A.D., the Vietnamese emperor Chen Yuzong was drowned when he was young, but was revived by a doctor with acupuncture, which shows that acupuncture and moxibustion had been introduced to Vietnam at that time.During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, some medical books in my country were spread to Vietnam, such as "Jingyue Quanshu", "Introduction to Medicine", "Jinnang Milu", etc., which had a great influence on Vietnamese medicine. The Vietnamese medical book "Xinfang Bazhen Mandarin" was based on "Jingyue Quanshu".Le Youzhuo, a famous Vietnamese doctor, has 66 volumes of "Heart of the Sea Medical School". He believes that Vietnam is different from China because it is located in the south. Regarding the representative prescriptions of Mahuang Decoction and Guizhi Decoction in "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" for treating exogenous wind-cold, he wrote a chapter "On my Lingnan Mahuang and Guizhi Decoction must not be used", which can be seen He does not blindly copy the classics of traditional Chinese medicine, but chooses according to the local climate characteristics. This book has a great influence in the country, and Le Youzhuo is revered as a medical saint in Vietnam. In 1850, Vietnam imitated my country and built the "Temple of First Doctors" to worship famous Chinese doctors of all dynasties, especially Feng Chuzhan.Traditional Chinese medicine is very popular in Vietnam. The locals call these overseas Chinese doctors "Eastern Medicine", while the doctors taught by the Vietnamese people privately are called Southern Medicine.
