Chapter 26 The fourth section details the meeting points of a generation of laws and regulations

The history books that record the rules and regulations according to the dynasty are called "huiyao", and they are also an important part of political history books. The genre of "Huiyao" originated from "Huiyao" compiled by Su Mian in the Tang Dynasty (from Tang Gaozu to Dezong), and later Yang Shaofu and Cui Xian continued to compile "Xuhuiyao" from Tang Dezong to Xuanzong.Wang Pu of the Song Dynasty then supplemented the historical facts from Xuanzong to the end of the Tang Dynasty. In short, it became the earliest "Huiyao" in my country, which is "Tang Huiyao".

Wang Pu (922-982 A.D.), styled Qiwu, was born in Bingzhou Qi (now Qi County, Shanxi) in the Song Dynasty. In the early Song Dynasty, he was a prime minister. "Tang Huiyao" has 100 volumes, regardless of categories, and is directly divided into 514 items. The sub-items record historical facts and related events. The detailed allusions are compiled into miscellaneous records, which are attached to each article. "Tang Huiyao" records the evolution and changes of various laws and regulations in the Tang Dynasty, and the preservation of historical materials is very rich.It was written earlier than the new and old "Book of Tang", and many historical materials had been lost when "Book of Tang" was written, thanks to "Tang Huiyao" preserved.

The 30 volumes of "Five Dynasties Meeting Yao" were also written by Wang Pu.After completing "Tang Huiyao", he collected historical materials of the Five Dynasties and compiled this book. "Five Dynasties Meeting Yao" was written before the new and old "Five Dynasties History", but unfortunately the historical materials it preserved were not absorbed by "Five Dynasties History". "Five Dynasties Meeting Yao" has become the most important book with the most original materials for studying the laws and regulations of the Five Dynasties.

The Song Dynasty attached great importance to the revision and compilation of the meeting. There were 10 joint study meetings before and after, and 2,200 volumes were compiled, which were not published in time. The Yuan army destroyed the Song Dynasty, and the original manuscript was transported to the north. The remnants of the "Yongle Dadian" were included in the revision of the Ming Dynasty.During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, when Xu Song presided over the compilation of "Quan Tang Wen", under the guise of his name, he asked someone to copy it from the remaining "Yongle Dadian".The whole book is divided into 17 sections without detailed breakdown, many of which can make up for the deficiencies of "History of the Song Dynasty" and are very precious. "Song Huiyao Collected Manuscripts" was later lost in folk bookstores, and was acquired by Liu Chengwo, a modern bibliophile. He asked someone to delete and organize it, added some materials, and compiled it into 460 volumes.Liu Chengwo edited the book because there were many deletions and revisions, and the source of the new materials was not indicated, so scholars did not think highly of it.On the contrary, the manuscripts compiled by Xu Song are highly valued by the academic circles. In recent years, it has been photocopied and published by Zhonghua Book Company, making it easier to use.

Since the Song Dynasty, there have been continuously useful books compiling the rules and regulations of various dynasties in the genre of Huiyao. Although some are not called "Huiyao", they have the same style and content as "Huiyao". "I will."In addition to the aforementioned, there are also "Chunqiu Huiyao", "Seven Kingdoms Examination", "Qin Huiyao", "Two Han Huiyao", "Eastern Han Huiyao", "Three National Congresses", "Jin Huiyao" , "Song Huiyao of the Southern Dynasty", "Qihuiyao of the Southern Dynasty", "Liang Huiyao of the Southern Dynasty", "Chen Huiyao of the Southern Dynasty", "Yuan Dianzhang", "Ming Huiyao" and so on.It provides us with a reference book detailing the laws and regulations of each dynasty.
