There are abundant materials on the history of calligraphy in ancient my country, and there are also many monographs dedicated to the history of calligraphy, among which the famous ones are: "Collecting the Names of People Who Can Book in Ancient Times", written by Liu Song Yangxin. This is written by Yang Xin under imperial edict.Among them, 69 people who can write from Qin to Jin are listed. "Small History of Books", written by Song Chensi. For those who can write in the past dynasties, the whole story is detailed and arranged into sheets.Among them, in the first volume of "Ji", there are 51 "emperors"; in the ninth volume of "Biography", there are 10 "concubines", 13 "ladies", 27 "kings", and 430 people from Cangjie to Guo Zhongshu, a total of 540 people. Each is a biography; all emperors are called "Ji" to show the difference.Although the source is not indicated, the collection and compilation are not excessive, and the narration is also well-organized.In the history of books, this should be called a book with pioneering achievements.

"Book History Hui Yao", written by Tao Zongyi of the Ming Dynasty; The names of people recorded in "Book History Huiyao", from the Three Emperors to the Yuan Dynasty, amounted to more than 2,500 people, which can be said to be a collection of calligraphers before the Yuan Dynasty. The writing is concise, and the arguments are more appropriate. Moreover, Liao, Jin, Yuan and foreign calligraphers also included as much as possible. The materials containing Uyghur and other ethnic minorities and foreign countries such as Japan are very precious. Zhu's "Sequel" includes the continuation of the calligraphers of the Ming Dynasty one by one, and the narration is quite detailed.

"A Brief Collection of Calligraphers of the State Dynasty", written by Qing Zhenjun. The so-called "National Dynasty" refers to Qing Dynasty. It is roughly connected with "Book History Will Be Continued".Five members of the Qing clan are recorded in the first volume; 110 members are recorded in the first volume, all of whom were originally from the Ming Dynasty and then entered the Qing Dynasty; after that, they are all famous families in the Qing Dynasty, about 730 people.Since the book was completed in the 33rd year of Guangxu (1907 A.D.), and it has reached the end of the season, calligraphers in the Qing Dynasty have roughly collected it, and it can be regarded as a continuation of "Book History Huiyao".

"History of Yutai Calligraphy", written by Qing Lie [e Evil], one volume, compiled by 210 women calligraphers in all ages. The compilation is still said to be complete, but relatively brief. This book is very precious. There are quite a few women in our country who are good at writing and writing, but due to the restrictions of feudal ethics, they seldom show up in society, so they are rarely known.Li E's work has done a lot to commend female calligraphers. Although there are all the above-mentioned works on "history", unfortunately they are limited to the arrangement of "biographies" and have not sorted out the history, so they are not scientific "history".But these data are undoubtedly very precious.
