In 1935, Pingxin edited the "Life National General Bibliography", which included about 20,000 kinds of national new bookstores, academic institutions, cultural organizations, libraries, government agencies, research societies, and private publications over the past two decades since the Revolution of 1911.The bibliography is arranged according to the subject system, with four indexes of classification, subject, European country, and foreign author, becoming the most important retrieval tool for searching new books published between 1912 and 1935. Great achievements have also been made in compiling the catalog of ancient books. In the 1930s, the Commercial Press published "Sibu Series" and "Series Integration", and Zhonghua Book Company published "Sibu Beiyao" and other large-scale ancient book series, and at the same time published their bibliography, "Sibu Series Shulu" Emphasis on version records; "Catalogue of the Preliminary Compilation of Series Collection" classifies and arranges the 4,100 books contained in the Hundred Series, and indicates the series to which they belong, and there is also a "Summary" to introduce the content, editor and history of compilation and printing of the series; "Summary of Bibliography" contains biographies and bibliographies for the authors of each book.The "General Catalog of Books of Jiangsu Provincial National Studies Library" published in 1936 divided the books collected in the library into classics, histories, subsections, collections, annals, pictures, and series, and arranged them into seven categories in detail. It was an important reference for examining the situation of ancient books at that time. Book.The Ou Ji of Selling Books compiled by Sun Dianqi is another important catalog of ancient books. Books that have been sold and handled for decades are arranged and included in the catalog according to the categories of "Summary of General Catalog of Siku Quanshu". The general catalog of ancient Chinese writings from the Qing Dynasty to before the Anti-Japanese War can be used as a sequel to "Summary of General Catalog of Siku Quanshu".

In indexing, it mainly focuses on newspapers and ancient books.In 1930, the Shanghai "Humanities Monthly" edited the "Recent Magazine Index" as the earliest.Later, there were "Journal Index" and "Daily Index" published by Nanjing Zhongshan Cultural Center. In October 1935, the Lingnan University Library in Guangzhou published the "Chinese Magazine Index", which is very useful for searching newspapers and periodicals from the late Qing Dynasty to the 1930s.Yenching University has also compiled "Twenty Kinds of Comprehensive Citations of Art and Literature", "Xunzi Citations", "Fifteen Citations of Shihuozhi", "Introductions of Authors of Chronicles of Tang Poetry", etc., which provide convenience for ancient Chinese academic research and ancient history research. .In addition, such as the "Ten Tong Index" of the Commercial Press, the "Index of Twenty-five Historians" of Kaiming Bookstore, and the "Index of Thirteen Classics" edited by Ye Shengtao, are important retrieval tools for the study of Chinese literature and history.
