Chapter 95 Happy Rain on a Spring Night/Du Fu

Poetry is expensive, but not all kinds of poems can express noble sentiments and profound connotations. If every poem has to dig out the purpose of the attached poem, will it still have a poetic flavor? Some people say that this is a poem praising Chunyu's selfless dedication, and the words "hidden" and "run" are also used to praise Chunyu's lofty quality of obscurity and selfless dedication. And because there is a word "good" in the poem, it also reminds me of good people and good deeds. Is there such a poem? This is a little poem that arouses joy due to the light rain on a spring night.

In spring, everything sprouts and needs the nourishment of water. The spring rain really started to fall, just like knowing the season, so Du Fu called it "good rain" (timely rain). It rains a lot at night in Chengdu, and the rain stops as soon as dawn.Du Fu wrote in "Water Threshold Moves the Heart" written in thatched cottage: "It rains all night in Shu, and the river threshold is already sunny." The rain in spring is not heavy, fine and dense, and silent. However, you can feel it coming, and feel that it is quietly nourishing the budding flowers and fluffy grass, the green willows by the pool, and the green wheat seedlings in the field.

Open the window, the surroundings are dark, the winding path is also hidden in the thick night, only the boats on the Huanhua River are still lit with one or two fishing lights. What a beautiful rainy night it is! Looking at the rainy spring rain, the poet spread the wings of imagination: Tomorrow morning, when the rain stops and the sun rises, the flowers all over the city will be more delicate and beautiful with rain and dew.The poet used the word "heavy" here, which is very vivid. It is similar to Li Bai's "Amidst the sound of dogs barking and water, the peach blossoms are raining heavily" ("Interviewing Dai Tianshan Taoist Bu Yu").

Du Fu wrote many poems about rain, most of which are related to farming. In the first year of Baoying (762) in Chengdu, he also wrote a poem "Heavy Rain". Although it is a different scene, you can refer to this poem: There is no way to carry out spring plowing and spring planting due to prolonged drought and no rain. "Spring farming is still wailing", and it is the farmers who are most worried. Therefore, when the heavy rain poured down, the poet happily wrote: "Dare to say goodbye to the leak of the reed, and I am already happy with the high of the millet and beans." So what does it matter? The poem also mentions the rain's "moisturizing power", which makes the poet much more excited than when "it rains on a spring night".
