Chapter 2 how happy

how happy i roam Savor the best of summer until i meet the king of love Floating gently in the warm sunshine He adorns my hair with lilies Adorn my brow with blushing roses He led me through his beautiful garden The garden is full of his golden joy The honeydew of May wets my wings Phoebes ignites my passion for singing He caught me in Rose's snare imprison me in a golden cage He loves to sit and listen to me sing then laugh and play with me spread out my golden wings laugh at the loss of my freedom How sweet I roamed from field to field, And tasted all the summers pride,

Till the prince of love beheld, Who in the sunny beams did glide! He shewd me lilies for my hair, And blushing roses for my brow; He led me through his gardens fair, Where all his golden pleasures grow. With sweet May dews my wings were wet, And Phoebus fid my vocal rage; He caught me in his silken net, And shut me in his golden cage. He loves to sit and hear me sing, Then, laughing, sports and plays with me; Then stretches out my golden wing, And mocks my loss of liberty.
