Chapter 25 music
Music always fascinates me like the sea!
To my shimmering stars,
Under a cloud, or in the boundless sky,
I set sail;
I puff out my chest like a bulging sail
embrace the breeze,
I crossed the curtains of night after curtain before my eyes
And the crests that appear hazy;
I feel all the pain of the ship in distress
all trembling in the depths of my heart;
Winds, storms, and convulsions of ships
in the vast abyss
rocked me. —Occasionally, calmly,
Like a boundless mirror reflecting my despair!
