Chapter 9 man and sea
Free man, you will love the sea forever!
The sea is your mirror, you are endless in waves,
Contemplating your soul in the rush of infinity,
Your spirit is an abyss of pain,
You like to be immersed in your image;
You embrace it with your eyes and arms, your heart
To this wild, unrestrained moan,
Sometimes you can send your own commotion.
Both of you are gloomy and cautious:
Man, no one has probed the bottom of your abyss;
Sea, no one knows your hidden riches,
You keep your secrets so carefully!
However, I do not know how many centuries have passed,
You show no mercy, no remorse, you fight fiercely,
You love carnage and death so much,
O eternal fighter, O merciless brother!
