Chapter 7 sound
My cradle is backed by a bookcase,
In this dark tower of Babel, verse stories, science, novels,
Ashes of Rome, dust of Greece,
Miscellaneous but old, everything that one expects to find.I'm only about the size of a folio.
I often hear two voices.One is sinister and haunting:
"The world is a delicious, sweet cake;
I'll give you an appetite like cake,
Then your happiness will be endless! "
Another followed: "Come! O! come and wander in dreams,
Clear beyond the possible range, please cross the boundaries of the known world! "
The former voice sang like the wind on the beach,
like a ghost from nowhere
With a melodious yet frightening cry,
So I replied to the latter: "Okay! Sweet voice!"
Why!Henceforth my scars and my bad luck began.
Background from the boundless life arena
Behind, from the bottom of the darkest abyss,
I clearly found a strange world,
My ecstatic insight caused me pain,
I dragged the snake along, but the snake bit my shoe.
Since then, like those prophets,
I am deeply in love with the desert and the sea,
I laugh dumbly in sorrow, I laugh sadly in joy,
From the bitterest of bitters I taste sweetness;
I tend to take the truth for a lie,
He fell into a trap because he raised his eyes to the sky.
But the voice comforted me and said, "Keep your dreams alive;
Smart people don't have such wonderful dreams as crazy people! "
