Chapter 32 tribute to apollo
tribute to apollo
1
sleepless hours, when I sleep,
Fanned hasty dreams from my eyes;
And let the star-studded veil be a curtain,
That the moonlight should not trouble my eyes,--
When dawn, mother of hours, declares night dreams
Gone with the moon, every moment shakes me awake.
2
So I arose and ascended to the blue sky,
Began to wander along the hills and waves,
My robes are thrown on the foam of the sea;
My steps spread fire to the clouds, the cave
Filled with my radiant being, and the mist
Get out of the way and let me embrace the green earth.
3
The light is my arrow, with it I shoot
The "deceit" that loves the night and fears the day,
Anyone who does evil or intends to do evil
all escape me; with my brilliant light
Kindness and righteousness are alive,
Till the night reigned and weakened them.
4
I feed the flowers with atmospheric colors,
Rainbow and cloud; in the eternal garden,
The moon and the pure stars are wrapped in
My spirit seems to be wrapped in a dress;
Between heaven and earth, no matter what kind of lamp lights up,
That light is one, must be a part of me.
5
At noon, I stand in the sky,
From now on I will take reluctant steps
Down into the evening clouds of the Atlantic;
See me go, the clouds will frown and cry:
I will comfort it from the western islands,
At that time, who can smile more charmingly than me?
6
I am the eyes of the universe, it depends on me
sees itself, recognizes its holiness;
The harmony of all instruments or verses,
All prophecy, all medicine, all light
(Whether natural or artistic) is mine,
Victory and praise are due to my song.
