Q: Many previous works that won the Mao Dun Literary Award have been successful in the field of film and television through adaptation. Your previous work "Red Sorghum" became a household name after it was adapted into a movie, and "Warm" based on the adaptation was also shown at the Tokyo Film Festival For this award-winning, do you have any plans to adapt it? A: Movies seem to rely less on novels now than they did in the 1980s.Of course, it is a novel that can be adapted into a movie or a drama, but I will not change it for the time being, and I think it is more important to create a new work.

Q: What do you think of the adaptation of literary works? What do you think is the difference between writing a screenplay and writing a novel? A: The adaptation of novels into film and television or other stage works is a process of selection.Select the essence and discard the dross. The vision and level of the adaptors determine what kind of novels they can find, and also determine the difference between their adapted works and the original works.Drama is the closest art to novels. In fact, dramas can be written as novels, or novels can be written as dramas. As for film and television scripts, they have their own artistic requirements.I don't have much say in this.

Q: It is not an adaptation, but was originally created for the stage. Can you briefly talk about the background of the creation? What was your initial impetus for this play? A: It was originally a drama script.Originally written for the Air Force Repertory Troupe, but the troupe ceased to exist after the Army reorganized.I wrote a small theater play for this troupe, and it was a great success after the performance. This also inspired my enthusiasm for writing historical dramas.I once said that I would write a trilogy of historical dramas, but I haven't finished it until now.The motivation for writing dramas is firstly interest; secondly, there is something to say deep in my heart.

Question: Some people think that in this work, you not only deconstructed an assassin, but also deconstructed the story of Jing Ke's assassination of Qin Qin, and even deconstructed history, and deconstructed our long-standing view of history. How do you view this issue?Or, is this your original intention? Answer: Historical dramas are actually modern people using ancient events to explain current events. But what is the truth about ancient things? In fact, no one can tell.I think the history we see now has been severely processed.I think that the so-called ancients are fundamentally no different from us.Therefore, I did not deliberately deconstruct history, I just removed the barriers between the ancients and the moderns.

Q: You have achieved undoubted success in the literary world, how do you evaluate your performance in drama creation? A: In terms of theater creation, I am an apprentice. But I have ambitions to be a playwright. Question: What are your expectations for the performance of the stage, and what are your expectations for the performance of your works by the actors of Renyi? A: I have great trust in the team of Renyi. The script is done, the rest of the work is theirs, and I don't participate in any opinions.
