Chapter 11 Taoists of Puquan Jingzong also recite the Ksitigarbha Sutra

Gengchen Ksitigarbha's birthday talks about Wang Mengxing in Yongchun Wang Xietangqianyan in the old days It has been a year and a half since I came to Yongchun.When going to summer, Layman Wang Mengxing wrote a letter, in order to propose that Layman Lin Zijian and others will come to Puji Temple and ask for lectures.Si Shiyu once replied to a letter, and went to the city to give lectures on the "Diamond Sutra" for three days after the cool autumn.And in autumn and July, I tried to hide it and practice Zen, but it didn't work.Yesterday, dreaming laymen and all benevolent people went to the mountain to visit each other. Because of the rain, they stayed in the monastery for a while. Today is the Christmas of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. Therefore, taking advantage of this good luck, I will recite the main points of "Ksitigarbha Sutra" for the Taoists of Jingzong to commemorate .

The method practiced by the Taoists of the Jingzong sect is mainly based on the Three Pure Land Sutras.In addition to the three sutras, it seems advisable to also recite the Ksitigarbha Sutra to aid in walking.Because Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has a great relationship with all living beings in this land.And the "Ksitigarbha Fundamental Vow Sutra" is especially compatible with the roots of ordinary people like us.Therefore, Taoist couples of the Puritan sect should also uphold and recite the Sutra of Fundamental Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.I would like to state the purpose below, in case the Taoists of Jingzong choose it.

1. The pure land has the deepest karmic relationship with Ksitigarbha since ancient times.And my Eighth Patriarch, Master Lianchi, wrote the preface of the "Ksitigarbha Fundamental Vow Sutra", exhorting and praising it for circulation.Master Yi, my ninth ancestor, served Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva all his life, and praised and promoted Yili.He lived in Mount Jiuhua for a long time and called himself "the lonely official of Ksitigarbha".He also practiced the rituals of Ksitigarbha repentance diligently, and often held the mantra of Ksitigarbha to repent to remove karma and seek bliss.In addition, Master Yinguang, the leading figure of the Pure Land School, made great efforts to spread and disseminate the "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra", and published tens of thousands of copies, so that the scholars of pure land can read and recite it wholeheartedly, and practice according to the teaching.Today, I secretly follow the established rules of the ancestors of the Jingzong, and generally advise my colleagues to practice and learn.The combination of victory and fate is not accidental.

2. Ksitigarbha Dharma-door is mainly based on the Three Classics.The three sutras are "The Bodhisattva's Original Vow Sutra", "The Ten Wheel Sutra of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva", and "The Sutra of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Observation of Good and Evil Karma". Although the meaning of rebirth in the Pure Land is not clearly stated in the "Primary Vow Sutra", it is shared in the other two sutras. The "Ten Wheels Sutra" says: "When you are born in a pure Buddha country, the residence of your teacher." , with one mind undisturbed, as the observer above, is determined to be reborn in that Buddha’s pure land.” Therefore, Master Yi, the Ninth Patriarch of the Lotus School, made a vow when he worshiped Earth Store Bodhisattva and repented: “Sacrificing one’s life in another world, to be reborn in front of the Buddha, to be born in front of the Buddha. Serving Amitabha, experiencing all the Buddhas, personally receiving prophecy, returning to the world, meeting all kinds of delusions, and returning to the secret treasure together." From this point of view, the Ksitigarbha Dharma has a deep relationship with the Jingzong. Also have the same interest.

3. "Contemplating the Infinite Life Buddha Sutra" regards cultivating the three blessings as the cause of purifying karma.The first of the three blessings is filial piety and fostering parents.In the "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra", the karma of Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's filial piety in previous lives is prepared.Therefore, Gu De called the "Ksitigarbha Sutra" as "the Buddhist Book of Filial Piety", and there is a good reason for it.All my colleagues should always read and recite the "Ksitigarbha Fundamental Vow Sutra" to fulfill the purpose of filial piety in the "Contemplation Sutra".And follow the teachings, especially respect filial piety, in order to repay the kindness of relatives, and cultivate victory.

4. Contemporary master Yinguang teaches people to hold on to the name of the Buddha to survive in the West. They must first persuade them to believe in karma, refrain from doing evil, and pursue all good things.Then Naiyun said, "Relying on the Buddha's kindness, bring karma to rebirth." In the "Ksitigarbha Vow Sutra", the karma of Guangming is extremely detailed.All my colleagues should always read and recite the "Ksitigarbha Fundamental Vow Sutra", follow the teachings, and purify karma with capital.If you don't believe in karma and don't pay attention to ethics and morality, you will not only fail to live in the west, but you will also be involved in the three ways.Today I am stealing from the original idea, generally recommending that those who cultivate pure karma must firmly believe in cause and effect, and always check what they do in daily life.Confess sincerely and try to make amends.Then practice the five precepts and ten virtues, etc., as the aid of reciting Buddha's name, and as the accumulation of life.

5. If we practice pure karma, if we can let go of all the sufferings and joys in the current environment, we will have nothing to worry about.It is sincere and good to eliminate the body view according to the affliction, and to strengthen the pure vow with the adversity.But if this is the case, there are only one or two out of tens of millions of people.Because we are in the status of ordinary people, although we know how to practice the purification of karma as we go, we still haven’t completely seen through the physical and mental world.If life is difficult and disasters occur frequently, it will be a big obstacle to practice.Now if you can turn to Earth Store Bodhisattva, you will not have such worries.According to the "Ksitigarbha Sutra", it can make us have enough food and clothing, prevent diseases and epidemics, keep our homes safe, fulfill our wishes, increase our life span, eliminate wastage, enter and exit divine protection, and avoid disasters, etc.Gu Deyun, be safe and then Daolong.That is to say.This is the gist of general advice to those who practice pure karma, and they should believe in Ksitigarbha.
