The way of white clouds 奥修 11253Words 2018-03-20
May 13, 1974 all hope is false Beloved Master, You have been telling us how easy it is to give up the ego and become one with the white cloud. You also tell us that we have lived millions of lives, and in many of them, we have been with many Buddhas, many Krishnas, many Christs, but we have not yet given up self. Are you creating false hope within us? All hope is false, to hope is to be in falsehood, so it is not a matter of creating false hope, whatever you can hope will be false. Hope comes from the falseness of your being, if you are real then there is no need to have any hope, then you never think about the future, never think about what is going to happen. You are so real, so substantial, that the future disappears.

When you are unreal, the future becomes very important, then you live in the future, then your real existence is not in the here and now, your real existence is somewhere in a dream, and you make those dreams It seems real because through those dreams you have access to your real being. As you are, you are unreal, and that is why there is so much hope going on. All hope is false...and you are real, my whole effort is how to push you back into yourself. The ego is all false hopes put together, the ego is not a real being, it is the collection of all your dreams, all that is not real, and all "that is not".

The ego cannot exist in the present.Watch this phenomenon, the ego is always in the past or in the future, it is never in the here and now -- never. That is impossible, whenever you think of the past, the ego appears, that I appears; whenever you think of the future, that I appears, but when you are here, and you don't think about the past, and you don't think about the future, then you Where am I? Sitting under a tree, don't think about the past, don't think about the future, just be there, if that's the case, where are you?Where am I?You cannot feel it, it does not exist, the ego has never existed in the present.

The past no longer exists, the future does not yet exist, neither exists. The past is gone, the future has not yet appeared, neither exists, only the present "is".Never find anything like a self in the present. So what do I mean when I say give up on myself?I'm not giving you a new hope.I am taking all your hope away, and that is the difficulty, because you live through hope, so you feel that if all hope is taken away, you will die. Then the question arises: why live? ...for what to live for?Why go from one moment to the next?for what? With the disappearance of hope comes the disappearance of purpose. So why go on and on if there is nowhere to be reached? You can't live without hope, that's why it's so hard to let go of yourself, hope has become synonymous with life.

So whenever a person is hoping. He just appears more alive, more alive, stronger, and when he has no hope, he appears vulnerable, depressed, pushed back into himself, not knowing what to do?Not sure where to go? Whenever there is no hope, you feel so meaningless, and immediately you create another hope, a substitute is created. If one hope is thwarted, it is immediately replaced by another, because you cannot live in the void, you cannot live without wishing. And I'm telling you, that's the only way to live. When you have no hope, life is real, it becomes real for the first time.So the second thing to understand is this: when I say it's easy to let go of yourself, I don't mean it's easy for you, I just mean it's easy to let go, because that The phenomenon of ego is so unreal.

If the ego is false, why is it so difficult to give it up?If it is true, then there must be difficulties. If a dream is just a dream, what is the difficulty in coming out of it?You could have walked out!Dreams cannot hold you, dreams cannot stop you, dreams cannot become an obstacle, dreams have no power, that's why we call them dreams. It's easy to come out of the dream, that's what I mean when I say it's easy to let go of yourself. But I am not saying it will be easy for you, because the dream is still a real existence for you, it is not a dream, the ego is not false for you, that is the only real existence, the other Everything is false.

We live around ourselves, we are on a journey of more and more of ourselves, some through wealth, some through status, power and prestige, some through politics, some through religion. There are countless ways, but the result, the end goal is the same, they are all seeking more and more 'I', more and more ego. It is a real being for you, I say, it is the only real being for you, the false has become the real, the shadow has become the substance, that's why it is difficult— — not because the ego is so powerful that it is difficult, no, it is difficult because you still believe in it, you still believe in its power.

If you believe in it, it will be difficult because on the one hand you will want to give it up, and on the other hand you will go on clinging to it, so it will be difficult. When I tell you it was a dream, you want to believe it because you have suffered a lot through it, not because you feel the truth of my words. If you can feel the truth in my words, you will be able to drop it immediately, you will not ask how to drop it, there is no question of how, as soon as you see the point, you will be able to drop it. When I say the self is false and can be dropped, you don't know the truth of my words; when I say the self is false and can be dropped, you create a hope out of it, because you have been living through it Suffered a lot, so you create a hope.If the ego can be dropped, then all suffering will be dropped, and you become happy with this hope.

I didn't create that hope, you created that hope, I'm just stating the fact that this is what the self is made of, that's how the self is made, that's how the self was created, and that's how it can be thrown away!Because it is false, no effort is needed, just see the point and it disappears. A man is running, he is frightened, he is frightened to death, and he is running because of his own shadow. You stop him and tell him: You are so stupid! It is your own shadow, no one is following you, no one is going to kill you, no one but you, you are only afraid of your own shadow.

But once you start running, the shadow will follow, the faster you run, the faster the shadow will follow. Then the logical mind will say, you are in danger; the logical mind will say, if you want to escape, then you must run faster and faster, but no matter how fast you run, the shadow will follow you , if you can't get rid of it, you will become more and more afraid, all of which are of your own making. But if I tell you: this is just a shadow, no one is following you, and then you realize the point, you pay attention to the shadow, you feel the point, will you still ask me how to get rid of the shadow?Would you still ask what technique, what method or what yoga to use to drop it?You will only laugh, you have dropped it!At that moment you see that it is just a shadow and no one is following you, then it is dropped, then there is no question of "how to drop", you will laugh out loud, you will feel This whole thing is ridiculous.

It is the same with the ego, if you can understand the truth of my words, things happen, and in that understanding, things happen, there is no question of "how". If you're still asking "how" that means it hasn't happened yet, means you haven't understood the point, but you've created a hope out of it, because you've been receiving through this ego, so you've always wanted Drop it, but this concept of wanting to drop has been only half of your mind. All your pain comes from the ego, but all your happiness also comes from the ego. The crowd applauds you, they appreciate you, and you feel good, that's the only joy you've ever known, and your ego rises high, reaches the top, becomes Everest, and you feel happy! Then the crowd condemns you, you feel hurt, the crowd feels indifferent, you are crushed, you hit rock bottom, you become depressed. You have always had happiness through ego, you have always suffered through it, and because of suffering you want to drop it, but because of happiness you cannot drop it So when I say that the ego can be easily discarded, a hope arises in you, and that hope was not created by me, but by your greed. It doesn't become an attainment, it becomes a new greed, it becomes a new search for fulfillment, you feel that now there is a way, there is someone who can help you to drop the ego and all the pain that is created by the ego , but are you ready to throw away all the happiness that is also produced by the ego? If you are ready, then it is very easy, as if you are dropping a shadow, but you cannot just drop half and carry half, either the whole self is dropped, or the whole self is attached to In you, this is a problem, this is a difficulty, all your happiness and all your pain is related to only one phenomenon -- you want to keep the pleasure and drop the pain. You are asking for the impossible, therefore it is difficult, not only difficult, but impossible, it will not happen to you, whatever you do will be of no use, nothing will come of it . You create a hope out of it, you create a heaven out of it, a Buddha's intense bliss. When you listen to me, or listen to Jesus or Buddha, then you create hope, and that hope is not created by me, that hope is created by you, and you project your hope on it . That's the problem, that's the whole complexity: every hope becomes food for the self again, even this hope to reach Paradise or the Great Hall, even this hope to become enlightened, is a hope, and Every hope is food for the ego. Who wants to become enlightened? The man who wants to become enlightened is the problem. No one has ever become enlightened, enlightenment happens, but no one has ever become enlightened. When that room is empty, enlightenment happens, when no one comes to attain enlightenment, enlightenment exists. Because of the relationship between language and the duality of language, as soon as such a deep thing is said, it becomes false. We say "Buddha became enlightened", this is false.Buddha has never been enlightened, Buddha is the unenlightened, when he is not there, when he becomes absent, enlightenment happens. When one day he suddenly realizes that he's following a ridiculous pattern, when he realizes: I'm the one who's having trouble, so anything I do will create more problems... The problem isn't doing Right or wrong, the question is not this or that, anything you do will strengthen your ego. Once the Buddha understood this - which took him a lot of effort - when he understood: whatever I do will help my ego more and more, so he gave up all doing, in that For a moment of understanding, he becomes a man of inactivity -- complete inactivity. Remember, this is the problem: you can even create activity out of your inactivity, or you can create activity to help inactivity happen to you, but then you will miss out. You can stand still, you can sit still, but you try to stand still, your standing is false, you are not standing, you are moving. If you sit silently but there is an effort, if you try to be silent, then that silence is false, you are not silent. When Buddha realized that he himself was the problem, when he realized that every activity that came out of him was giving something more to the ego, he dropped it, and then he made no effort to create an inactive State, he does nothing at all, anything that can happen happens. The wind was blowing, the trees kept dancing, and then the full moon came, and the whole existence was celebrating, breathing in and out, blood circulating in the veins, heart beating, pulse beating, everything was happening! But he did nothing, and in that inaction Gautama Siddhartha disappeared. In the morning, no one can come to receive enlightenment, but enlightenment is there, under that bodhi tree, an empty tool sits there -- breathing as usual, heart still beating, even better than before, every day Everything goes perfectly, but there is no doer. The blood is circulating and the whole being around is alive and dancing, every cell in Buddha's body is dancing and alive, it has never been so alive, now the energy moves by itself, no one is touching it , and no one is manipulating it. Buddha became a white cloud, enlightenment happened. It can happen to you too, but don't create hope out of it, instead, when you see the point, you can drop all hope and become hopeless, hopeless at all. It's hard to be hopeless at all, you often get to hopelessness, but it's never perfect, one hope is gone, you feel hopeless, but to fill that gap, you create another hope, Then that hopelessly disappeared again. People go on going from one master to another, that is, from hope to hope, they go to a master with a hope, they wish to say that he will give through his grace, they wish to say Through his energy, things will happen and they will try. They will wait, they will have a very nervous mind, because a hopeful mind can never be at ease; they will have a very impatient mind, because a hopeful mind cannot be patient. Then they start to feel uneasy because it didn't happen, so this master is wrong again, they have to go to another master, it's not changing from one master to another master, it's changing from one hope to another. Another hope.People change from one religion to another, they are always changing because their hopes are changing, and you can go on doing this for many, many lifetimes, you have been doing this all the time. Now, try to understand the point! It is neither a question of the master, nor a question of whether the method is right or wrong. The question is to have a direct insight and immediate response to the phenomenon that is happening, why you should hope, or why you cannot have no hope. penetrate. From all your hopes, what have you got? Know it and it will disappear by itself, you don't even have to ask you to drop it, that's why I say it is easy, and I know very well that it is very difficult, it is difficult because of you, and it The reason why it is easy is because it is easy. The phenomenon is easy, but you are difficult. This kind of thing can happen at any time, I mean this phenomenon of enlightenment, or this phenomenon of selflessness is not caused by anything, it does not need any cause, it is not a result of many causes, it is not A by-product, it is a simple insight, it may happen to a sinner, but it may not happen to a saint. So it really doesn't take any condition to say it, it can happen even to a sinner if he can understand it.If he becomes hopeless, if he feels that there is nothing to be gained or achieved, if he realizes that this whole thing is just a nonsense game, then it can happen. It may not happen to a saint, because a saint has been trying to achieve, he is not hopeless. This world has become useless, but another world has become very meaningful. He understands that he must leave this earth after all, but that there is heaven beyond, and he must go there. Even people around Jesus or Buddha have been asking these kinds of things.Just the night before Jesus was going to be crucified on the cross, his disciples asked him: Master, please tell us that in the kingdom of God, when you sit on the right side of the throne of God, where will we sit? ?In what order shall we sit?God sits on his throne, Jesus sits on his right hand, he is the only son of God, and then the twelve disciples, where are they going to sit?In what order are they going to sit? People around Jesus asking these stupid questions! But such is the human mind, they don't ask anything of this world; they become beggars, they ask about another world. They're not really beggars, they're hoping, they've staked the world, but it's a deal - what will our place be on the other side?Who will sit next to you. Between those twelve disciples there must be competition, there must be politics or ambition, some are on top, some are below, some become leaders, there must be a lot of conflict, there must be a lot of inner politics, there must be a lot of violence And an undercurrent of aggression is underway. Even with Jesus, a person starts to hope, "hope" is deeply rooted in you, whatever is said, you turn it into hope, you are an institution that creates hope, and this institution that creates hope It is ego. So what to do?In fact there is nothing to do, you just need very clear eyes, you just need more aware eyes, more penetrating eyes, all that is needed is to be able to see you with fresh eyes, to see you The whole existence, see everything you are doing and wishing for - a fresh look. And I want to tell you that in that fresh looking, in that innocent looking, the ego disappears by itself. It is the easiest phenomenon, but at the same time it is the most difficult. But you have to remember that I am not creating any hope in you. eye of typhoon Beloved Master, Regarding what you just said, there is a Zen proverb: Effort without effort. Can you tell us about this and how it applies to your Dynamic Meditation? Meditation is a phenomenon of energy, and there is one very basic thing that has to be understood about all kinds of energies, and that is basically the law that has to be understood: energy flows between two poles, and that is the only way it flows, there is no other way. way, it flows between the poles. For any energy to be dynamic, the opposite pole is needed, it is as if the current flows between the positive and negative poles. If there is only the negative pole, the current will not happen, or if there is only the positive pole, the current will not happen, both poles are needed, and when the two poles meet, they create electricity, and then the spark is created. As is the case with all phenomena, life goes on between the two poles of man and woman, the woman is the negative pole, the man is the positive pole, they are both charged, and that is why there is so much attraction. If there were only men, life would disappear; if there were only women, there would be no life either, only death. There is a balance between man and woman, and between man and woman—between these two poles, between these two banks, the river of life flows. No matter where you look, you will find the same energies flowing into the poles, striking a balance for yourself. This polarity is very meaningful for meditation, because the mind is logical, and life is an interaction between positive and negative polarities. When I say the mind is logical, it means that the mind moves in a straight line; Back and forth, from negative to positive, then positive to negative, then negative to positive, bending back and forth, it uses the opposite poles. The mind moves in a straight line, in a simple straight line, it never goes to the opposite pole, it rejects the opposite pole, it believes in the one, but life believes in the two. So whatever the mind creates, it always chooses the one.If the mind chooses silence, if the mind gets tired of the noise in life and decides to be silent, it goes to the Himalayas, it wants to be silent, it doesn't want anything to do with noise, even if Just the singing of birds disturbs it, even the breeze blowing through the trees is a disturbance. The mind wants to be quiet, it chooses the straight line, so its opposite pole has to be totally rejected. But this person who lives in the Himalayas seeking tranquility and avoiding the opposite pole will become dead, he will definitely become very boring, and the more he chooses to be peaceful, the more boring he will become, because Life needs the opposite pole, and life needs the challenge of the opposite pole. There is a different type of stillness that exists between the two poles. The first is the peace of death, the peace of the grave.A dead man is peaceful, but you must not like to be a dead man, a dead man is completely silent, no one can disturb him, his concentration is perfect, you can do nothing to distract his mind, he The mind of a man is completely fixed, and even when the world around him goes mad he remains in his concentration, but you still don't like being a dead man.Silence, concentration, or whatever you call it, you must not like being dead, because if that silence is dead then that silence is totally meaningless. The stillness has to happen when you are fully alive, when you are very alive, brimming with life energy, for that stillness to make sense, but then that stillness will have a completely different quality, it will not be It's going to be boring, it's going to be alive, it's going to be a delicate balance between two poles. Then this type of person, the person who pursues the balance of life, the person who pursues the tranquility of life, will definitely like to go to the market, and also like to go to the Himalayas, he will definitely like to go to the market to enjoy the noise, and he will also like Go to the Himalayas and enjoy the silence, and he will create a balance between the two poles, and then he will remain in that balance, which cannot be achieved by linear effort. That is what is meant by the Zen technique called "effort without effort," which uses the contradictory phrase—effort without effort, or the door to nowhere, or the road to nowhere.Zen has been using contradictory phrases just to suggest to you that the process is an alternation of positive and negative poles rather than a linear one, and that the opposite pole is not to be rejected but to be absorbed; The opposite pole is not to be set aside but must be used.If it is set aside, it will always be a burden to you; if it is set aside, it will hang in you; if it is not used, you will miss a lot. Energy can be transformed and used, and when you use it, you will become more alive, more alive, the opposite pole must be absorbed, and the process can become positive and negative. No effort means doing nothing - inactivity, "joblessness"; effort means doing many things - activity, "karma", both of which must be present. Do a lot, but don't be a doer, then you achieve both.Enter the world, but don't be a part of it; live in the world, but don't let the world live in you, then the contradiction is absorbed, then you reject nothing, reject nothing, then the whole of God is was accepted. That's what I'm doing. "Dynamic meditation" is a contradiction, dynamic means effort, a lot of effort, total effort, and meditation means silence, no effort.Without activity, you could call it a kind of meditation where positive and negative polarities work in tandem. Be very active so that your whole energy becomes an activity, no energy is static in you, the whole energy is used, nothing is held back, all frozen energy dissolves and starts to flow, so you Just not a frozen thing. You have become dynamic, now you are not like a plant, you are more like energy, you are not physical, you become electrical, bringing all the energy to work, becoming active, flowing. When everything is flowing and you become a typhoon, then you become alert.Remember, pay attention, and then in this typhoon, suddenly you will find a center of complete stillness, and this is the eye of the typhoon, and this is you - the divine you, you as a god. All around you is activity, your body becomes an active typhoon, everything is moving fast, faster and faster, all frozen parts are melting, you are flowing, you become a volcano, a A fire, an electric current, but right in the middle, right in the middle of all this activity, there is a point of motion, a point of stillness. This still point is not created, it is there! You don't have to do anything with it, it's always there, it's your essence, it's the basis of your essence, and this is what Hindus call "atma" -- the soul.It is there, but unless your body and your physical being become fully active, you will not be aware of it.With total activity the total inactivity becomes apparent. Activity gives you a contrast, which becomes the blackboard, and on the blackboard is a white dot. On a white wall, you cannot see a white dot. On a blackboard, a white dot is shown to you.So when your body becomes very active, very dynamic, becomes an activity, suddenly you become aware of that still point, that completely still point -- the only motionless center of the whole world of activity. That is no effort, no effort on it, no effort needed, it just shows up. Effort around, no effort in the center; move around, rest in the center; move around, not at all in the center, and in between... It will be a bit difficult because you may identify with that center that the Hindus call the soul, and if you identify with that still center, you are again choosing between the two, you are choosing something again, and reject something. There is a very subtle discovery in the East, which is: if you identify with the still point, you will never know God, you will know yourself, but you will never know God.There are many traditions, especially Jainism, where they become too identified with themselves, so they say there is no God, they are the only God. Indians really penetrate deeply, when they refer to the point of stillness, and the activity around this, they say, either you are both, or you are neither! Both refer to the same thing, which is the polarity, and this is the polarity of positive and negative interplay - positive and negative. These are two shores, and you are somewhere in between, neither moving nor immobile, and this is the ultimate transcendence, which is what India calls Brahma. Effort and non-effort, movement and immobility, activity and inactivity, matter and soul—this is the two sides.Between these two banks flows the invisible, the two are visible, and between the two flows the invisible, you are the invisible. It is said in the Upanisha Sutra: Tatwamasi, Svetketu. That which flows between these two banks, that which cannot be seen, that which is really delicately balanced, that which is in between, that is you, is called Brahma - the Supreme Self. There is a balance that has to be achieved, and that balance can only be achieved if you use the two poles, if you use only one of them, you will become dead, many people do this, even the whole society Become dead, this happens in India, if you choose one of these, then imbalance or bias will happen. In India or in the East, people choose the silent part, the still point, and the active part is rejected. So the whole East has become very boring, the sharpness is lost. That intellectual sharpness, that physical vigor sharpness, everything is lost, the East becomes less and less interesting, more and more ugly, as if life were just a burden that had to be carried and let go, as if life were a A duty that must be fulfilled, a karma that must be suffered, is not a pleasure, not a passionate dance, but a dull, lethargic activity. It has its result, the east becomes weak, because with a still point you cannot remain strong for long, you cannot remain strong forever.Power needs to move, power needs to move, if you refuse to move, the power will disappear, the east has lost its muscles completely, the body has become weak, so anyone who wants, can conquer the east. For thousands of years slavery has been the only destiny of the East, and anyone who has the notion of enslaving others will come to the East. The East is always ready to be conquered, because the Eastern mind has chosen one point and rejected the opposite point. The East has become peaceful, but at the same time it has become dull and lifeless. Such tranquility has no value. What happens in the West is just the opposite, it happens in other societies too, they choose the active part, they choose the surrounding, they think there is no soul, they think this activity is all, all life is made of activity, enjoyment, attainment, Made of ambition and conquest. The end result of the west is that it will become more and more crazy, because without that still point, you cannot remain sane, you will go crazy, if there is only a still point, you cannot stay alive, you will become dead ;If only active, you will go crazy, those crazy people, what happened to them? They have lost touch with their point of stillness, which is their madness. The West has become one big madhouse, and more and more people are accepting psychoanalysis.More and more people are getting psychotherapy, more and more people are going to madhouses, and those who are out there, they are out not because they are sane, but because the asylum can't hold that much People, otherwise the whole society will be imprisoned. They are normal, they can function normally, but Western psychology says that it is difficult to say that anyone is normal now. They may be right, in the West no one is normal, only activity creates madness, it cannot be balanced. Active cultures end up being crazy, and inactive cultures end up dead, and this can happen in societies as well as in individuals. For me, balance is all, don't choose, don't say no, accept both and create an inner balance.Dynamic Meditation is an effort towards that balance. Activity -- enjoy it, be ecstatic, be totally in it, and then silence -- enjoy it, be ecstatic about it. Move between the two as freely as you can, don't have any choice, don't say I am this or that, don't identify with either, say: I am both, don't be afraid of contradiction, let it be contradiction, be Both, move freely between the two.
