What factors do you attribute the rebellion of Western youths, and why so many Western youths are now enthusiastic about Eastern religions and philosophies. The mind is a very contradictory thing. It works within diametrically opposed extremes. And our logical way of thinking always chooses one part and denies another part. So, logic works in a non-contradictory way, and the mind works in a contradictory way.The mind works in diametrically opposed extremes.Whereas logic works in a straight line. For example, the mind has two possibilities; anger or tranquility. If you can be angry, it doesn't mean you can't be angry at the other extreme. If you can be interrupted, it doesn't mean you can't rest your mind constantly working in two ways.If you can love, you can also be full of hate. One way does not deny the other.

But if you are loving and you start thinking that you are not capable of hating, then very soon it will build up in you and when you reach the peak of love everything will fall down. You fall into hate. Not only does the rational mind work this way; so does society. The West has reached the pinnacle of rational thinking. Now the irrational part of the mind will take revenge. The irrational part has always been the embodiment of rejection, and it has retaliated in various ways over the past 50 years; through art, poetry, drama, literature, philosophy, and now.Even through lifestyle. So the youth's rebellion is actually the irrational part of the mind rebelling against too much rationality.

The East can help those Westerners, because the East lives with another part of the mind -- the irrational part.It also reached a pinnacle: the pinnacle of irrationality.Today, the youth of the East are more interested in communism than in religion, in rational thinking than in an irrational life.In my opinion, the whole swing will now be reversed, and the East will become like the West. And the West will become like the East. Whenever the first part of the mind reaches the top, you go to the opposite. This has always happened throughout history. So now in the West, meditation will become more meaningful.Poetry will assume a new place, and science will decline.Today's Western youth will be anti-technology and anti-science.This is a natural process, an extreme self-balancing.

We have not yet been able to develop a personality that embraces both poles, neither Eastern nor Western. We always choose only one part of the mind and starve the opposite part.In this way, rebellion is inevitable.Everything we have developed will be shattered and the mind will go to the other pole. This kind of thing dabs throughout history; it has become the dialectic of history. For the present West, meditation will be more meaningful than thinking.Because meditation means not thinking.Zen will become more attractive, Buddhism will become more attractive, yoga will become more attractive. These are irrational attitudes towards life. They do not emphasize concepts, theories, theology. They emphasize a passion that goes deep into being, not into thinking. In my opinion, the more control technology has over the mind, the more likely it is that the other extreme will emerge.

The rebellion of Western youth is very meaningful, very meaningful. It was a historic turn, a turn of consciousness. Now the West cannot remain the same.A deep crisis has arrived. Now the West will have to turn in the other direction. The whole western society is rich now.In the past, some individuals were rich, but there was never a time when the whole society was rich. When a society becomes rich, wealth loses its meaning. They make sense only in poor societies. And even in a poor society, if someone does get rich, he gets bored. The more sensitive a man is, the faster he becomes bored.Buddha is so tired. He left everything.

The whole attitude of contemporary youth is a weariness of empty wealth. The youth are leaving society and they will continue unless the society becomes impoverished again. That way they won't be able to leave. This departure, this abandonment, can only exist in an affluent society. If this behavior goes to extremes, society will decline and technology will not develop. If this situation continues, the West will become like the East today. In the East, they are turning to the other extreme. They will create a society like the West. The East is turning to the West, and the West is turning to the East, but their problems remain unchanged. In my opinion, the problem is the imbalance. It is to accept this and deny that.

We have never allowed the human mind to fully blossom. We always choose one part over another, choosing one part at the expense of the other. This is our trouble. So, I am neither in favor of the Eastern way nor the Western way.I object to both items because they are both partial attitudes. One should choose neither the East nor the West, both of which fail. The East failed by choosing religion, the West failed by choosing science.Unless you choose two.Otherwise, it is impossible to get rid of this vicious circle. We can change—from one pole to another. If you talk about Buddhism in Japan, not a single young person will listen. They are interested in technology, and you are interested in Buddhism. In India, the new generation is at least not interested in religion. They're interested in economics, they're interested in politics, they're engineering, they're science—everything but religion.Western youths are interested in religion, while Eastern youths are interested in science. It's just switching the load from one end to the other. The fallacies of the past persist.

I am interested in the total mind, in the mind that is neither Eastern nor Western, that is a person -- an earth mind.It is easy to live with one part of the mind, but if you want to live with two parts, you have to live very inconsistently -- apparently inconsistently, of course. On a deeper level you will have a harmony, a spiritual harmony. Man remains spiritually poor unless the opposite pole also becomes a part of him.In this way he becomes rich.If you are only an artist without a scientific mind, your art must be impoverished. You will be rich only when the opposite is present. If there were only men in this room, something would be lacking in the room. The room becomes spiritually enriched as soon as the woman comes in.Right now, opposite poles stand here.Overall expanded.

The mind cannot be fixed. If a mathematician can enter the world of art, he will be richer. If his mind is free to leave his main group and go back, he is a richer mathematical being. Through opposites, a cross-breeding takes place. You start to see things in a different light. All your insights will be richer. One should have both a religious mind and a scientific training, or a scientific mind and a religious training.I don't see any natural impossibility in it.On the contrary, I think that if the mind can be used to move from one pole to the other, it becomes more alive. For me, flow means a kind of ability to penetrate in all directions, a kind of freedom that is all solid.

For example, if I become too logical, then I become unable to understand poetry.Logic becomes a sleeper. When I was listening to poetry after Lara, my audience was there, and the poetry seemed very absurd. Not because waiting is absurd, but because I have a certainty about love. From a logical standpoint, poetry is absurd. On the other hand, if I become obsessed with poetry, then I start thinking that logic is just a utilitarian thing, it has no depth.I started to close up on it. This kind of denial of one part by another has always happened in history.Every period, every nation, every region in the world, and every culture selects only one part, and then shapes a personality around it.This personality is impoverished and lacks many things.Spiritually, the East has never been rich and the West has never been rich. They cannot be rich.Richness comes from opposites.Comes from inner proof. For me, the East is not enough, and neither is the West.We have to choose a different quality of mind. What I mean by this quality is that one rests on one's own, without choice.

A tree flower grows. We could cut off all its branches except one, and let the village grow in one direction, and it would be a very poor tree, very ugly, and it would surely end up in deep trouble, because a A root branch cannot grow alone; it can only grow in a group of branches. One day the branch will feel that it has come to an end.Now it can no longer grow. For a tree to really grow it must let it grow in all directions.Only in this way is the tree rich and strong The human soul must grow like a tree in all directions. We have to stop the idea that we cannot grow in opposite directions. In fact, we can only grow if we grow in the opposite direction.Until now we have always said that one must specialize, that one must live in only one specific direction. So only the ugly stuff happened.A person lives in a certain direction and then he starts missing something. He became a branch, not a tree.Even this branch is fragile. We are not only cutting down the branches of the mind, we are also cutting down the roots of the mind.We allow only one root and one branch, so the whole world is full of starving people; in the East, in the West, everywhere. So those Easterners were bought to the West by the Lake Country, and the Westerners were bought back to the East, because people are always interested in what they don't have. Because of the need for the body, the East began to be interested in the West.Because of the needs of the soul, the West began to be interested in the East.Yet even when we change our position, our attitude, the disease remains the same. That's not a question of changing positions; it's a question of changing the whole concept. We never accept a whole person. Some places are not according to self-nature.Some places don't accept secularism. Some places don't accept affection. We have never been strong enough to accept every aspect of man, to allow man to develop in every direction without accountability. The more you grow in the opposite direction, the bigger your plant, the more your wealth, your inner wealth. Our perceptions must all change. We must move from the past to the future—not from East to West, nor from one existence to another. The problem was very difficult because our division was so deep; I couldn't accept my anger, I couldn't accept my sexuality, I couldn't accept my body, I couldn't fully accept myself—something had to be denied, thrown away. It's evil, it's bad, it's sinful and we must keep cutting down the excess branches.Soon I will not be a tree, not a living thing. And I worry all day long whether the branches I saw off will grow back and emerge again.I became afraid of everything.Sickness arises: a sorrow, a dead movement We have been living a partial life, which is directly close to death compared with life. One must accept all human possibility, bring back everything that is in him.At the same time there is no sense of inconsistency or contradiction. If you can't be authentically angry, you can't love.Yet this has always been our attitude until now. We have always believed that if a person is incapable of anger, then he loves more than others. But if the tree grows at the foot of the wall, its root system cannot develop because the wall is there. This wall may be society, its living environment. If there is a wall next to the tree. How can it grow? There are many walls around us.But those streets were made of trees, not others. These trees support these walls all the time. The existence of these walls is entirely dependent on their cooperation.Once the trees are no longer willing to support these walls, they will fall and disintegrate. These walls around us are our creations.Because of these attitudes of the human mind, we create these walls. For example, you teach your child not to get angry, you tell him if he gets angry. He is not a caring child. So you create those walls around him that tell him he has to control his anger, and you don't know that if he suppresses his anger, his ability to love will also be destroyed.Anger and love are not incompatible. They are two branches of the same tree.If you cut one off, the other will grow thin, because the same vitality is sunk in every branch. If you really want to train your child, let him live a better life. You will teach him to be really angry. You don't say, "Don't be angry" You say, "When you're angry, be really angry, be totally angry. Don't feel guilty about being angry. Instead of telling him not to be angry, train him right When he should be angry, he should be really angry. When he should not be angry, he should not be angry. The same is true for love. When he should love, he should really love; should not love. It's not a question of choosing between being angry and loving. The question is between right and wrong, true and untrue.Anger must be expressed.A child, when he is really angry, is beautiful - a burst of energy and a rush of life.If you kill anger, you are killing life.He will become impotent. As far as his life is concerned, if he can't be alive, he will be a walking dead. We are constantly creating various concepts to create various enclosures. We develop attitudes, ideologies to create walls. These walls are not imposed on us; they are our creation. When our county becomes aware, these walls will disappear. They exist because of us. But what if this tree, this person is fundamentally obstructed? In this way he cannot change. Not because he doesn't want to change, but because he can't. Obstacles are not a problem. If the whole society is alive we can heal them.We can analyze them.help them. They must be helped; there is nothing they can do themselves? For example, the son of a prostitute is therefore handicapped. It is because of our concept of Taoism. He's deeply guilty of something for which he has absolutely no responsibility. How could he have prevented his mother from being a whore? What can he do about it?However, society has always looked at this child differently. He will continue to regret being the son of a whore until we develop a different attitude toward sex. Because we make marriage sacred, prostitution must be considered a sin.Yet prostitution exists because marriage exists. It is part of the whole marriage system. Like the human mind, permanent relationships are unnatural.A person will live with the same person indefinitely because the law requires him to do so.This should not be the law.It shouldn't force me: If I love this person today, I have to love this person tomorrow. This is not what nature asks of me.There is no inherent certainty that this love will still be there tomorrow. It may be; it may not be.The more you force it to be there, the less likely it is to be there. Then prostitution came in through the back door.We cannot end prostitution unless we have a society that allows for free relationships. If a relationship is going on, you feel good about it; your ego feels good. To fulfill your ego -- whether you're a devoted husband or a satisfying wife -- Whores must be condemned. Then the son of a whore must also be condemned, and then it becomes a disease.A sickness had developed within him. But these are special cases. If someone is medically or psychologically ill, we must help him, heal him. However, society as a whole is not like this.Ninety-nine percent of obstacles are our creation; one percent is the exception. This one percent is not a problem at all.If ninety-nine percent of society changes, one percent is affected by it. We have not been able to determine to what extent your physiology is conditioned by your mind. The more we gain, the less certain we are about this. Many physical diseases may exist because of your mind.Unless a man's mind is free, he cannot say that his disease must be in the body. Therefore, there are many diseases that are only human phenomena.Animals do not suffer from these diseases.Animals are healthier than humans.Fewer diseases and less ugly.In fact, it is not only why human beings cannot be more energetic, more beautiful, and healthier. We have been trained for ten thousand years, and this long-term training of the mind may be the root of the problem. However, when you yourself are part of this pattern. You can't even think about it. There are a lot of physical illnesses that exist because of a defect in the mind. And we are still trying to build everyone's head on a child's life, the first six years are the most meaningful. If you spoil his mind, it will be difficult for you to change it later. But we continue to damage, and with good intentions. The more deeply psychology gets in people's minds, the more parents seem to be unknowingly turned criminals, and the more teachers and education systems are unknowingly turned criminals. They too were once tortured by the older generation. They are just passing on the disease. But now there are new possibilities.Especially in the West, for the first time, people are freed from their daily needs. Now we can experiment with some new possibilities for the mind.It was impossible to do these experiments before, because the needs of the flesh were a heavy burden and were far from being satisfied. But it is now possible. We live on the threshold of a profound revolution.Never in human history has there been such a revolution. Now, a revolution in consciousness is possible. With the tools of greater awareness and understanding, we can change. It will be a long time before we win, but the possibility exists for us.If we dare, if we have the courage, it can become a reality. The entire human race is at stake.Either we go back to the past, or we move towards a new future. This is not a question of World War III, nor is it a question of communism and capitalism. These questions are now obsolete.A new crisis is at hand.Either we have to decide we want to have a new consciousness and practice for it, or we have to regress and go back to the old patterns. Regression is also possible.Whenever there is a crisis. The mind always tends to go backwards.Whenever you face what you can't face, you always go backwards. For example, if the house suddenly catches fire, you immediately become like a child. When the house is on fire, you need to be more rational, your behavior needs to be more awareness, and you regress into a five-year-old child, and start running around, creating more for yourself. danger. It may be regrettable: if we try to create a new human being, we are faced with a whole new situation - we may go backwards. There are even some seers who preach backwards. They want the past to come back: "The golden age is in the past. Go back!" But in my opinion, that would be suicide. We must move into the future, however difficult and difficult it may be. Life must go to the future. We have to find a new way of being and I hope it happens. And the West must be the soil where it happens, because the East today is just the West 300 years ago.The problem of subsistence and survival weighed heavily on the shoulders of the Orientals. But the West no longer has these problems at all. When Western youth come to me, I always find that they can both progress and regress. And in a sense, they've been going backwards, they're behaving like children, like primitive people. This is not good.Their rebellion is good. But they have to behave like new humans, not like primitives. They must create within themselves the possibilities for a new consciousness. They just anesthetized themselves blindly.Primitive minds are always mesmerized by drugs and hypnotized by drugs. If those who have abandoned Western society start behaving like primitives, it is not a rebellion but a reaction, a regression. They have to act like new humans. They must move toward a new, total, total consciousness, accepting all the possibilities of human inconsistency. The difference between animals and humans is that the possibilities of animals are fixed, while the possibilities of humans are infinite. But they are only possibilities.Man can grow, but this growth must be helped. We must open centers all over the world that will help to grow. The mind has to be trained logically, rationally, but at the same time it has to be trained irrationally, irrationally.Reason must be trained, and the Synthesis must be trained at the same time.Rational training should not come at the expense of emotion.Doubt has to be there, trust has to be there. It is easy to trust without any purpose, and it is easy to have no trust in your arms. But these simple routines don't work anymore. Now we have to create a healthy skepticism, an abiding skepticism, and a mind of change and a mind of trust have to go hand in hand. Our inner being must be able to go from one end to the other.Move from doubt to trust and back again. In the study of the object. One has to be suspicious, careful, cautious. But in another dimension connected with this, the Ministry of Letters reminds you not to preach scriptures. Both are needed. It is always about how to create opposite poles at the same time. That's all I care about.I would keep creating doubt, and I would keep creating trust. .I don't see any inherent contradiction in this, because for me it's all about movement, from one pole to the other. The more we fixate on one extreme, the more difficult it becomes. For example, in the West, you develop the habit of moving in huge columns.Yet you never sleep well. When you start sleeping, the mind needs to go from an active state to an inactive state, but it can't.You toss and turn in bed; your mind is racing and you have to take sleeping pills to sleep. The truth is that mandatory sleep isn't going to get you well rested; it's just superficial rest.In the depths, these disturbances continue.Your sleep becomes a daydream. The opposite is true in the East.Orientals can sleep well, but they can't be active.Even in the morning, the oriental mind feels white and sleepy. For thousands of years, they have been doing very well on the questions, and have done nothing else, and you have scored a lot, but you feel restless and uncomfortable.Because of this discomfort, everything you do is in vain. You can't even sleep! So I emphasize training the mind to be active, training the mind to be inactive, and above all, to train the mind to move—so that you can move back and forth between the two poles. You can train the mind to move from one pole to the other. In any active state, I can immediately enter the inactive state.I can talk to you for hours, and I can stop talking right away and go into a deep, inner turmoil. Unless that possibility is created within you, your growth will be stunted. The future must allow a kind of bi-moon harmony between the inner poles.Unless there is such a movement between the poles, the deep bond of man is over. You cannot move on.The East is exhausted, and the West is exhausted. You can exchange the ideas of the two, but later, within two hundred years, the same problem will arise again. If you're just exchanging attitudes with each other, you're going to start a cycle. If everything has to be accepted, how can a person know what is the right goal to pursue in life? The pursuit of goals is itself part of the rational process. The future exists because of rationality. This is why animals have neither future nor purpose. They live, but without purpose.Reason creates ideals; it creates goals; it creates the future. The real question is not what is the right goal. The real question is whether to have a purpose. A new generation is asking whether to have purpose. As soon as you have a goal, you start to get out of life. You begin to shape your life according to your purpose.Compared with the future, the present is not very meaningful. It has to be shaped, it has to be in tune with the future. A goal-oriented mind is rational, while a life-oriented mind is irrational. So, it's not a question of how to have the right goals. The question is how to make reason no longer the only phenomenon of the mind. Reason must have goals; it does not have them.It cannot exist. But this shouldn't be dictatorial; it shouldn't be the only branch growing.Reason has to be there, it has to be, but there is an empty part of the human mind, it cannot have goals, it can only exist like an animal, like a child. It can only exist in the here and now. This empty part. This irrational part will experience the deep realms of life, love, and art.It does not need to go into the future so it can go deeply into the here and now.Rationality must be developed. But this part also has to be developed at the same time. There used to be quite a few scientists who had a deeply religious personality. This can happen in two ways.It may be a deep harmony, or it may just close one gap and open another without harmony at all.I can be a scientist, and then I can leave my scientific world and go to church to pray.In that alone, the scientist is not praying. This is not real harmony; this is deep division. There is no inner dialogue between the scientist and the prayer.Scientists don't go to church at all.By the time the person returned to the lab, the prayer was gone. There is a deep split between the two; they are not bathed together. On such a person. What you find is division, not harmony. He would make himself feel guilty, he would make a scientist's statement.Completely against the ground as a house demolition mind. So, there are many scientists who live a Luna split life.Part of them is one thing, and another part is another. That's not what I mean by harmony. What I mean by harmony is that you can be moved from one pole to the other without shutting down any of the poles. That way the science fraternity would pray and the tutors would go to the lab.No division, no success. If it doesn't matter, you will become two people.Usually, we are many; we have many personalities. We identify with one, and then we change gear and become another. This equipment change is not harmony. It creates a deep tension in your being. It's impossible for you to feel at ease with so many people together. It is only when we have a concept that man and God are one - that we no longer reject the opposite, will we have an undivided consciousness and the ability to move to the opposite pole. Doubt is part of the scientist's job.Trust is also part of it.They are different dimensions of the same thing viewed from the west. So, a scientist can pray in a laboratory; there is nothing wrong with that.Doubt is part of his job, a tool of his job, and so is trust. There is no natural division. When a person can move from one pole to the other with ease and ease, he does not even feel the movement. You are moving, but you don't feel the movement. You will feel movement only when you encounter some obstacle. If there is a deep harmony there. You won't feel any movement. One more point: when I say "East" and "West", my fault is not to say that the West has never had an Eastern mind.Or the East never had the mind of the West.I'm talking about mainstream. When should we write a history of the world that divides the world not geographically but psychologically. In it, the East will have many faces from the West. The West will also have many faces from the East. So, I don't mean to say that the West doesn't have both tendencies. My twain is saying that the west is mainly inclined towards rational growth, even religion. This is why the Christian faith used to be so dominant. Jesus was an irrational man, but St. Paul had a very scientific mind, a very rational mind.Christianity belongs to St. Paul, not to Jesus. It is impossible to form such a large organization around such a man without rules. This is impossible.Jesus was an Oriental, St. Paul was not. There has always been a dispute between science and the Christian faith. Both are rational. Both seek to rationalize religious phenomena. The Christian faith must be defeated because the religious phenomenon itself is irrational. As far as religion is concerned.Reason doesn't work either. So the Christian faith is bound to be defeated, and science is bound to win. In the East, there has never been a conflict between science and religion, because religion does not need anything from the world. The two are not in the same category; so there is no war between them. How can religion become rational? This is because of religion itself. This phenomenon occurs whenever religion has to be systematized.A Buddha or a Jesus does not aspire to any ideal. They live their lives naturally; they grow up on their own terms. They grow like wild trees, and then these wild trees become ideals for their followers. These followers began to create various usages; preference.Truth and Tian Qing. Religion has two parts. One part is people with a deeply religious personality, who are natural, and the other part is seekers who create religious creeds, teachings, norms according to ideals. Then the preacher has an ideal -- "One has to be one with Dada -- and repression arises. You have to destroy yourself in every way because only then can you become that ideal. You have to become a Imitation. In my opinion, this is crime. The personality of a religion is beautiful, but the creed of a religion is the product of reason. It is simply what happens when reason meets irrationality. Did Buddha not have a rational mind? He is very rational, but he also has very irrational gaps. He's also comfortable with irrationality. Our concepts of linphong are not really Tantra's, they are just traditions that arose after the Buddha.Buddha is another matter entirely. Because we can only do so, we have to go through the preliminaries to reach Tantra. They have created a tradition of two thousand years, and they have greatly physicalized Buddhist temples. He is not like that. You cannot exist if you go deep into being. Many times you have to be irrational - and Veduo is just that! But to use this.We then have to put the whole tradition aside and go straight to Tantra. It's very difficult, but it can happen. If I were to speak to a rational man now, he would unconsciously discard all irrational content. But if I were to speak to a poet now, the same sentence, the same words would have different meanings.A rational person cannot see the poetry of these words. He can only look at logic, at arguments. The poet sees the words in another way. There is a color, a poetry to the words, which has nothing to do with argument. Therefore, the image of the Buddha varies from person to person who sees him. When Buddha appeared in India, all the irrational things in the country -- the Vedas, (Upanishads), the whole mysticism -- were going through a crisis. The movement was huge, especially in the state of Bihar, where the Buddha lived. Buddha is very charismatic, hypnotizing. He left a deep impression on the people of his time. But their interpretation of Buddha must be rational.Had Buddha lived in another time, in a part of the world where mysticism was not objected to, he would have been seen as a great mystic rather than a rational man.The images people recognize belong to a specific historical period. In my opinion, the Buddha was not primarily rational. on the contrary.
