Meditation and Immortality 南怀瑾 1293Words 2018-03-20
Up to now, the development of medicine and the prosperity of medicine are no longer comparable to the old self-styled era.The study of qi, blood and spirit has its own specialties, and we cannot completely follow the old theory and ignore the new knowledge. At the same time, we should not ignore the old learning and blindly trust the new knowledge. The so-called science is still in the "indeterminate sky" and is moving forward. It is not like the old knowledge, which blindly pretends to be conclusive. The concept of traditional Taoist medicine: In the past, Chinese medicine and people engaged in the practice of "immortality" believed that the "sperm" in the human body was the most basic element of life. Not only does Taoism practice the alchemy of immortals, but the main cultivation is "refinement". The so-called "Nei Jing" of the Yellow Emperor, the so-called ancestor of medicine, also regards nourishing energy as the basic task of "curing disease and prolonging life" and "keeping longevity". , such as saying: "The two gods fight each other, and they form together. Chang Xiansheng is called essence." It also says: "If you don't store essence in winter, you will get sick in spring. If you don't hide essence in summer, you will get sick in autumn." Etc. , is to illustrate the importance of "essence" and health preservation.Later, it evolved into the Taoist alchemy method, which paid special attention to the important task of "returning the essence and nourishing the brain" as "immortality".As for how to truly "restore the essence and nourish the brain"?What is the real "essence"?Always ambiguous, with different opinions.

Viewpoints of modern medicine: The theories of modern medicine on ejaculation and sexual behavior are exactly the opposite of Taoist ideas. It believes that a normal adult excretes semen for a certain period of time and under normal conditions, and that is not a hindrance. If you forcefully suppress sexual behavior and forbearance, it will not be harmful to your body. And it is believed that sperm and eggs are produced by the combination of gonad endocrine, which is a natural physiological phenomenon. If one thinks that suppressing sperm can increase one's own health and longevity, it is nothing more than a fantasy and an ignorant lie of a sexual pervert. These concepts and theories often involve the knowledge of "physiology", "sexual psychology", "neurology", "hormone" and so on, with many clues and no comprehensive conclusion yet. However, in a word, there will never be a pure celibate who has no sexual ejaculation (including nocturnal emission, nocturnal emission, masturbation, etc.) all his life, and can live a long and healthy life longer than ordinary people. On the contrary, this kind of people often die of diseases such as cerebral hemorrhage or cancer due to long-term depression with sexual abnormality. Therefore, the so-called "restoring the essence and nourishing the brain, immortality" and "refinement and transformation of qi" and other theories are simply regarded as nonsense in the concept of modern medicine.

Heresy theories: But in addition to the orthodox Taoist medicine in China for three thousand years, there are also theories that are different from the "Qingxiu School".They also believe that "restoring the essence and nourishing the brain" and "refinement and transformation of Qi" are not easy principles. However, the methods of "returning essence" and "refining essence" require proper and special sexual behaviors in order to truly achieve the benefits of "returning" and "replenishing the brain".Their theories are also far-fetched based on the famous saying in "Book of Changes Xici Zhuan" that "one yin and one yang are called Tao", and they talk about the double cultivation of men and women. After the Tang and Song Dynasties, the Huoju Taoist priests of Taoism (Taoist priests who became monks and had families) have similarities and similarities with the double-body method of the Mongolian and Tibetan Tantric sects after the Tang and Song Dynasties. As for the medicine related to sexual behavior that is secretly circulated among the people, the books of "Rong Cheng" and "Su Nu" such as Huangdi's "Su Nu Jing" and "Yufang Secret Secret", which are similar to sexual psychology, have become one of their secrets. .In addition, there are special transmission methods of "[hand strength]" and "knocking" Jingguan acupoints, which are generally popular. As a result, those who learn Taoism fall into impotence and call it "abstinence".Even stomach problems, hematemesis, epistaxis, cerebral hemorrhage, nervous disorders and other symptoms can be found everywhere. As for the ones whose qi and blood are turbid, yellow and emaciated, and have no interest in life, it is considered a blessing among misfortunes! However, the theory of a person's age and the cycle of energy growth mentioned in these Dan Jue Dao books, as well as the theory of appropriate sexual behavior at that age, is very consistent with modern medical research. The ancients said: "It's a small way, but there are some things to see." From the standpoint of erudition and prudence, there are some things that cannot be ignored.
