Meditation and Immortality 南怀瑾 699Words 2018-03-20
In the process of sitting in meditation, the mental miscellaneous thoughts are relatively quiet, and the thoughts in the mind are relatively reduced, so the blood flow is relatively slow, and the burden on the heart is thus reduced. At the same time, because the posture of the body is correct, no more exercise to consume physical energy, the endocrine of the pituitary gland is evenly distributed, gradually feeling the limbs and the inside, and a feeling of fullness occurs. After this kind of feeling occurs, the most sensitive part is the central nervous system and the end of the spine, together with the kidneys, there will usually be swollen and tight stimulation.Gradually advance from here, following the flow of Qi and blood vessels, if there is something wriggling, feel it part by part. However, the phenomena mentioned above are based on the normal preliminary situation of ordinary people in "meditation". If there are special conditions in the body, if there is some kind of disease, or if the body is particularly strong, it is a different matter. In short, everyone's mind and body have different situations, which are so different that we cannot generalize them. If you stick to one thing, it's like "seeking a sword in a boat", and it's getting worse and worse!

Regarding the issue of Qimai, if you want to discuss it in detail, it is not enough to describe it in a few words, so I will talk about it slowly in the future. The gist of what I’m going to talk about now is to continue with the question of seeking “quietness” in the previous “sitting in meditation”, so we must pay special attention to it.In order to facilitate easy understanding, the psychological and physiological functions are summarized into two parts: perception and feeling; the so-called perception includes phenomena such as psychological thoughts and thoughts. The so-called feeling includes the body's qi mechanism, feeling and so on.But taken together, both are movements of the heart. When people are sitting in meditation, when they feel the qi mechanism in the body is working, the most common mistake is that they will unconsciously focus on the feeling, and it will become stronger and stronger, so that all the mental energy will disturb the qi. Machines, frenzied minds that constitute fantasies, associations, etc. Those who are a little better think that their qi channels have been opened, so they are complacent. In fact, the phenomenon of really opening up the Qi channels is not the case. What's worse, due to the experience of qi movement, the attention is overly concentrated, which invisibly cooperates with the psychological effects of consciousness and fantasies, which makes the nerves too tense, and it becomes a pathological state commonly known as "insanity". It's not that "sitting" will make people obsessed, it's because we don't know the ultimate truth of "sitting", and the demon of psychopathy has harmed the tranquility of "sitting"!
