Meditation and Immortality 南怀瑾 1004Words 2018-03-20
Humans are full of lust and curiosity. The greatest desire is to seek the fruit of immortality; the most curious is to explore the origin of the life of heaven, earth, human beings and myself, to transcend the world and grasp the functions of the universe. The sum of these two kinds of psychology constitutes the foundation of religious academic thought. The establishment of the Buddhist kingdoms and heavens in the West, and the Xanadu and Daluo Wonderland in the East lead to the sublimation of human beings' spirituality. Apart from this, there are mavericks, rather than religions like religions, and those who are purely based on the reality of body and mind to obtain evidence, are the traditional Chinese cultivation techniques of immortals, which are similar to Indian traditional mind-cultivating yoga and Buddhist "secret sect" methods one part. All of these start from the mind and body of the existing life, exercise the spirit and body and strive to transcend the shackles of the physical world, so as to achieve the eternal existence of the outer self, and then unlock the original mystery of life in the universe. They neither betray their respective beliefs, nor do they seek evidence for themselves purely based on their beliefs.

But for thousands of years, books and oral secrets about immortality have been spread widely, but where are the real immortals?Life is hard to come by, it seems purely a lie, unbelievable. Not only do we have this doubt now, but the ancients also felt the same. Therefore, Ji Kang, a native of the Jin Dynasty, wrote "On Health Preservation" and insisted that the gods can be learned, and wanted to prove the truth of the matter theoretically. Ji Kang put forward that the main purpose of the gods is to keep in good health, which can be called plain and fair.Whether or not this way has supernatural powers is not a question for the time being. Its benefit to the existing health preservation is absolutely undeniable. Moreover, it can complement each other with Chinese medical science, as well as modern psychotherapy, physical therapy, and psychotherapy, so it is necessary to carry it forward.

An academic thought that has been passed down for thousands of years must have a reason for its existence. The ancients were not all stupid and gullible. But because ancient and modern professors have handled it differently, it is not easy for us to understand it today. What's more, since ancient times, those who have devoted their whole lives to this way, and then delved deeper into it, belong to the minority of mavericks. It is not as good as general application of academics, which can immediately be effective in making a living.Based on personal experience and experience, this way is very effective in self-healing for daily attention to physical and mental cultivation. If you want to "go to the doctor in an emergency and embrace the Buddha temporarily", you can stop.

As for using this to explore the mysteries of the universe and human life, and to seek the extraordinary, it involves the theory of roots. In Zhao Yilun's poems from the Qing Dynasty, there is a saying that "it is difficult to learn language when you are young, but you only have half the skill. When you are old, you know that you can't take it by force, and you will be divided into three parts and seven parts."Poetry is a small way in literature and art, and it is difficult to achieve profound attainments, so it is said, not to mention changing temperament, how can it be achieved overnight, and get the wonderfulness of it!

The publication of this book is thanks to many years of study or practice, and I am overwhelmed by the many questions. It is based on simple experience and experience, sweeping away the bad habits of tradition and private teaching and receiving, breaking the terminology in Danjing and Daoist scriptures, and making a plain report of preliminary research experience. For people who pay attention to health preservation, it may be helpful. It must be stated here that the so-called "preliminary" is not a humble word, but a purely sincere statement. The requirements are more in-depth, and it is not the book that can do its best.If time and opportunity permit, we will continue to submit reports from the psychological part, and even the comprehensive physiological and psychological parts.
