Chapter 32 rebellion broke out

Zion is the name of a mountain where the former Jerusalem village was located. There were castles of the local indigenous Jebus people built on the mountain.Their king was killed by Joshua, but they remained independent for the next few hundred years. Finally, Zion was captured by David and was renamed the City of David.King David made it the centerpiece of his new capital. When David welcomed the ark back from Kiriath-Jearim, he built a tabernacle in the palace to house the ark. It was from there that Solomon took the Ark back and placed it in the Holy of Holies. Immediately after the placement was completed, a cloud and mist filled the temple, indicating that the Holy Spirit of the Lord had descended, and Solomon immediately knelt down and prayed for his people.A ball of fire fell from the sky and consumed the offering on the altar, and Solomon and his subjects knew that the Lord was happy with his new dwelling.

The feast of the celebration lasted for two weeks. Solomon offered 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep as a sacrifice, and others contributed as well as they could. All this made the Jewish people famous. For the first time, their country attracted the attention of many countries. Many foreigners came to visit, and Jewish merchants established their own offices in various cities in Egypt, in the cities of the Mediterranean and Mesopotamia. It was the beginning of a great era of prosperity. But having wealth is not necessarily a good thing. Now Solomon stays in the palace all day and rarely leaves. He was heavily guarded and was the first Jewish ruler to have a cavalry guard. In his later years, he ignored government affairs even more. He no longer regarded himself as a simple shepherd king, but as the absolute ruler of a powerful kingdom in the east.

For the stability of the country, Solomon married the princesses of several powerful neighboring countries. These concubines from different nationalities, Egyptians, Moabites, Hittites, Edomites, Ammonites, Phoenicians, they all retained their own religious beliefs. So in Solomon's harem, there are simultaneously altars to the goddess of fertility, the sun god, and other pagan gods of Asia and Africa. Sometimes, in order to please a favorite concubine, Solomon would allow her to build a small temple of his own.Enable her to worship her god as she did at home on the Nile or Mount Aram. This incident can show the king's broad-mindedness and open views, but it can't increase the support of his subjects.Because the people only believed in Jehovah, the only God.

They endured hard labor to build the temple, and their king now forsakes the temple of the Lord and sits in a disgraceful heathen shrine. People are extremely dissatisfied. Thoughts of rebellion had been brewing, and as soon as Solomon was gone, open rebellion broke out. Little is known about Solomon's later years. It is said that there are a lot of records in "Solomon", but unfortunately this book has been lost. Solomon passed away peacefully and was buried in the cemetery of his ancestors in the City of David. He could have laid the foundations of a powerful state, but his luxurious life and religious indifference made it impossible for him.

He had just died, and the storm of the Civil War had come.
