Dharma Overview 明旸法师 1482Words 2018-03-20
(1) The fifth prince became a monk Analu is the second son of King Ganlufan, also translated as A Shaotu Lou Tuo.Chinese translation without poverty, wishful. In the past life, he used barnyard rice as a gift to the Pacceek Buddha, and he enjoyed wish-fulfilling happiness among humans and heavens for ninety-one kalpas, hence the name.Is Mahanan's brother, the Buddha's cousin.Six years after the Buddha became enlightened, he returned to his hometown, Kapiluowei City, to preach and preach.Seeing his younger brother Nanda indulged in the beauty of Sun Daluo, if he inherits the throne, the country will surely perish soon. His son Rahula is another child, and he cannot take on the important task of governing the country. The country can only be saved if the two of them become monks and give up the succession to the throne to someone who can do something. So Nanda and Rahula became monks. After the two of them became monks, five princes, Ananda, Devadatta, Posa, Bati, and Anaru also became monks with the Buddha.

(2) Stubborn character The Buddha has very strict requirements on those who have become monks.Once when the Buddha preached, Analu dozed off, and the Buddha criticized him, saying: "Dudou you sleep well, snails, clams, sleep for a thousand years, and don't hear the Buddha's name."Hearing the Buddha's criticism, Analaw knelt down and begged for repentance, saying: "From now on, I will live my life and no longer sleep." Not long after, Analaw suffered from eye disease because of not sleeping. After the Buddha knew about it, he comforted him with concern and said: It is certainly not good to practice without food, and it is not good to go too far.All living beings need food to survive. The ears feed on sound, the nose feeds on fragrance, the tongue feeds on taste, and the eyes feed on sleep. The same is true for cultivating the Tao. Nirvana feeds on not letting go, and the state of inaction feeds on the joy of Zen and Dharma. You should sleep and protect your eyes. And asked the famous doctor Ji Po to treat him.Anarud replied stubbornly: I swear, I will live to the end of my life, no longer sleep, still refused to sleep, and soon, his eyes finally went blind. It is stipulated in the Sangha that: when a bhikkhu returns from begging for food, he must leave a portion for the sick bhikkhu to eat, and the bhikkhu whose clothes are torn or dirty must be rewashed.Later, Anarud's three clothes were so torn that he couldn't wear them any more, so he asked Ananda to sew a new set of three clothes for him.Knowing this, the Buddha personally made clothes for Anarud, and his cutting and sewing skills were very high, which was deeply admired by Shariputra, Moggallana, Ananda and others. From this incident, it can be seen that the Buddha was never superior to others in the Sangha, and his relationship with his disciples was one of love and equality.

(3) The first eye in the sky After the Buddha sewed clothes for Anarud, he was very sympathetic to him because he was blind, and taught him to practice the Vajra Illumination Samadhi.Soon after, he was certified as a celestial eye.No matter the place is far or near, inside or outside, where the naked eye can't see, Analuddha, who has certified celestial vision, can see clearly at a glance. Some people do not believe what the Buddha said about the Pure Land of Amitabha. Please ask Anaru to observe it with his clairvoyance. Once Analudd was very proud and said to Shariputra: My pure heavenly eyes can see the three thousand great worlds, my body can fly freely in the vast sky;Shariputra commented: You said that your celestial eye can see three thousand worlds, this is my arrogance; your body can fly in the sky, this is a restless mind; your mind is free from defilements, this is arrogance, People with these three minds cannot be freed from afflictions.Anarud accepted Sariputta's criticism with humility, and never talked about the state he had attained in front of others.

(4) Studying the Eight Great Human Realms Anaru asked the Buddha how to practice bodhisattva behavior, and the Buddha taught the Eight Great People to realize the Dharma and asked him to practice it.1. Observe the universe and all things in life with the concept of impermanence, suffering and emptiness, selflessness and impurity.2. Greed is the root of all suffering, and only by eradicating greed can one be liberated.3. Cut off the insatiable heart, live in poverty and live in peace, and pursue wisdom.Fourth, uninterrupted cultivation of blessings and wisdom, overcome all difficulties, overcome all demonic obstacles, persevere to the end, and win the final victory.5. Learn all knowledge, get rid of ignorance, and contribute to society with the knowledge you have learned.6. To the poor and ignorant people, we should give them material help and spiritual comfort, and don't despise them.7. Don't get caught up in worldly happiness, live a pure and happy life, and don't be a captive of the five desires.8. Make a vow to save all sentient beings, don't be a self-made man, and save all sentient beings with all your compassionate vows. After listening to the enlightenment method of the Eight Great Masters, Analudu often thinks in the center, realizes the truth of the universe and life, and finds the way to enlightenment (becoming a Buddha).

On the eve of the Buddha's death, he asked his disciples: The Four Noble Truths and the Twelve Causes and Conditions I mentioned are the truths I have realized. It is the bright light of the world, the compassionate navigation of the sea of suffering, the way to enter the Tao, and the key to the fruition. If anyone has any questions about this, please raise it as soon as possible, and it will be an explanation.Analuddha clasped his hands respectfully and said to the Buddha: We all firmly believe that the Four Noble Truths and the Twelve Causes and Conditions are the truth of life in the universe. In the world, the sun can be cold, the moon can be hot, snow-capped mountains can be turned into seas, and the earth can be turned into ruins. The Buddha taught the Four Noble Truths and the Twelve Causes and Conditions, which cannot be changed.Anarud's words comforted the Buddha's painstaking efforts in preaching all his life, and the smiling people disappeared.
