Nostradamus returned to Sarang in November 1954, still hoping to make it his permanent residence.Soon after, he married Anou Ponsard, the widow of a wealthy man.To this day, the house where they lived after their marriage can still be seen in a corner of Pras de la Poissonuli. After marriage, Nostradamus and his wife did have a stable life, which is probably the rare quiet and peaceful life of Nostradamus in his life.It was also during this period of time that he had a lot of time to read and study because he didn't have to wander around everywhere, and to study what he was really interested in - metaphysics. It is speculated that his astrology leapt forward during this period, and it was during this period of leisure that he truly realized his transcendental powers of prophecy.

Nostradamus devoted all his energy to the study of metaphysics and writing books, and almost completely abandoned his medical career, which he relied on for a living.Beginning in 1550, Nostradamus has personally compiled a set of calendars every year.Beginning in 1554, Nostradamus began to publish various collections of prophecies.Nostradamus himself found a little satisfaction in the popularity of the prophecies.Inspired by great faith, he began to devote himself wholeheartedly to the work of prophecy. Nostradamus remodeled his residence in Sarang, and he turned the topmost house into his own special research room.Every night, he is here with all kinds of books related to mysterious metaphysics. This research room also became the place where he made his own prophecy. It is rumored that Nostradamus read books like no one else. After he finished reading a book, instead of putting it back on the shelf, he put it directly into the stove and burned it.Others believe that, as a scholar, the possibility of Nostradamus doing so is actually not great. But if it is to avoid the entanglement of the church, Nostradamus' doing this is the best way to eliminate his deeds. After all, astrology was considered tantamount to witchcraft at the time and was strictly forbidden by the Church.

Nostradamus' predictions are not all his own imagination.A book called The Mysteries of Egypt, published in Lyon in 1547, was the source of all Nostradamus' inspiration.Passages from this book are mentioned and quoted several times in the prophecies written by Nostradamus. It is said that in 1554, the mayor of Bonu, Emme Gevini, had voluntarily resigned from his post as mayor and came to the door of Nostradamus. The purpose of his trip is to hope that Nostradamus can accept himself as a disciple, so as to teach him how to study astrology and astronomy. It can be seen that Nostradamus' prophecy was recognized by many people in the society at that time, and he would never appear as a doctor again. His only identity now is a prophet and astrologer.

Nostradamus's first collection of prophecies was completed in 1555. His predictions in this book span a considerable time span, from the time Nostradamus himself lived to the end of the world hundreds of years later .At that time, Nostradamus originally planned to write 1,000 prophecy poems, and then compiled ten prophecy collections and published them one after another. The collection is the "Centuries" that still shocks the world today. The name "The Centuries" comes from the form of a collection of prophetic poems, each of which is composed of 100 free style poems or quatrains. But for unknown reasons, Nostradamus's seventh book of prophetic poems was not finished.

After the death of Nostradamus, when people sorted out his manuscripts, it was discovered that Nostradamus actually wanted to write the eleventh and twelfth collection of prophetic poems, but he had not had time to realize his own. As soon as I wished, I left the world in a hurry. In this set of prophetic poems, there are French, Provence dialect, Italian, Greek and Latin, etc., and the written style and the way of choosing words and making sentences are also extremely obscure.Perhaps in order to escape the persecution of the church, Nostradamus deliberately disrupted the order of the prophecy poems instead of compiling them in chronological order. This is exactly the focus of today's book "The Century" criticized by many people as not being a book of prophecy.

When his first collection of prophetic poems was published, Nostradamus' fame spread rapidly in France and even throughout Europe. At that time, books were still a luxury, and only the wealthy nobles could afford them, while ordinary civilians were mostly illiterate. In the collection of prophetic poems published by Nostradamus, because the death of the then emperor Henry II was predicted in the prophecy, it caused a commotion in the upper class. After the death of Nostradamus, his student Gevini made great efforts to sort out and compile Nostradamus's prophecy poems.Although Gevini sometimes exaggerates the relationship between the teacher and himself, but without the help of this student, I am afraid that the current "Centuries" will lack a large part of the content.
