Chapter 47 PART FORTY-SIX "The Emotional Man"

Qingwen Eileen Chang put a lot of effort into studying the "text" and seldom touched on other things. At first, I saw her seldom add words of criticism and appreciation to the novel itself, and even the characters in the book. I felt that there must be a reason, but it is not necessarily something we can fathom. Now I feel that her "red study" has its own characteristics, that is, she does not express love or hate for Cao Xueqin in history and Jia Baoyu in the book. This attitude is also most impressive. Is it indifferent? Is it beyond happiness and anger? Is it not good to express oneself? ...I don't quite believe it's those reasons.

She said a word to Cao Xueqin, indicating that she was a "person with rich emotions".This point seems unnecessary. Those who are rich in emotion are the language of modern people. In ancient China, it was called "passionate", and this kind of person was called "sentimental". Some people criticize "sentimentality" as "morbid" and "unhealthy".It is an idiom that is close to a derogatory word, but it is used and "accepted" as a good word or compliment to those who say "rich in emotion". Passionate, developed to a certain level, it is called "love and infatuation", and there are clear texts in the book.

"The scars of red sleeves and crying are heavy, and there is even more love and hatred." Please note that a passionate person is equal to "more hatred-holding hatred long!" Therefore, don't mistake "passionate" for "sex ghosts and demons". Jia Yucun has already defended himself.Today's people have an even bigger misunderstanding, thinking that "passionate" is "little hooligan"-at worst, they have to be dismissed as a low-level character of "seeing one and loving another". This is why I can't understand: Xueqin and Baoyu's "passion" is different from "sex love", it is a kind of compassionate and benevolent giving (called "giving" in Buddhism), or you can simply use the vernacular Instead, that is "considerate".

A considerate person puts himself in his place, saves him by himself, and shares troubles, grievances, injustices, pains, and sorrows for him-his plight is like my own. Those who don't know this meaning mistake "passionate" for "sorrowful".This is the case with Mr. Wang Guowei. However, love is giving, but desire is possession; giving is for others, and desire is for oneself—selfishness. Confucius asked his disciples, is there a character worth adoring for life (as a motto)? He said: "—Is it forgiven?——Don't do to others what you don't want yourself to do to yourself."

One side is "desire" and the other side is "giving", which just arouses my clumsy intentions. But what Confucius said was from a negative point of view.Xueqin's "Talk about Love" is a positive state of mind. In my opinion, the rareness and greatness of life are at this point. Zhang Ailing does not "express her position" on these.Perhaps because she is a woman after all, if she does not speak very carefully about these things, she will leave people with excuses, or because of this, she has adopted a cautious and reticent approach. I believe that when she reads "Red Mansion" and loves "Red Mansion", it is definitely not because she cannot see or think about these core issues-because otherwise, what is the meaning and interest of reading "Red Mansion"?

It seems that if a woman wants to comment on a man, it is not easy to speak out; men are often very presumptuous.A man can freely comment on Daiyu, Baochai, or even "Which one do I like!", etc. without blushing.Women can't "same language".She is not willing to express her inner thoughts about Baoyu as a "person" in order to "serve the world"-most ordinary people pass the words back and forth. If I "understand" her in this way, I don't know if it's "fortunately speaking" or "unfortunately missing"? The poem says:

Don't comment on Baoyu and Qinjun, but there is a definite text when it comes to "passionate". The true meaning is taught to the secular world, and the few words of the master are superior.
