Chapter 2 The first article is the abundance of outstanding people

Zhang Ailing was originally from Fengrun, Hebei. Fengrun is the ancestral home of the author Cao Xueqin. Cao's family moved from south to north in the early Ming Dynasty and settled in Jingdong here. The topic I want to talk about is Zhang Ailing and Fengrun. Therefore, it is necessary to say a few words about Fengrun—it seems that there is a magical cultural relationship between Cao and Zhang. Fengrun has the well-known "four surnames": Cao, Chen, Gu, and Lu.But there are other common surnames besides the four families, and the Zhang family is one of them. The Cao family and the Zhang family are old cousins. For example, Xueqin ordered his grandfather Cao Yin to call Fengrun's clan brothers "Four Brothers of Chonggu" (Cao Wei), and he left a poem inscribed to his cousin Zhang Jianyang, who is the theme of "Night Talking at Neem Pavilion". It is well-known to the world: Neem Pavilion is the allusion that Cao Yin solicited the title "Picture of Neem Pavilion" in memory of his father Cao Xi, because when the seal was weaving in Jiangning, a neem tree was planted, and then the pavilion was built under it.

So, is Zhang Ailing's last life the same as the Zhang family of Cao's cousin? It can be used by historians as a textual research, maybe there is a reason for it? Zhang Ailing's grandfather, named Zhang Peilun, was a senior official in the late Qing Dynasty.Just because the Sino-French war was defeated, he was responsible, and his reputation has been discredited since then.According to the newspaper, Eileen Chang herself did not know that her real grandfather was Zhang Peilun, but recognized another official with the surname Zhang. If this statement is true, it is of course a "story" that should not have happened, but today, it seems that Zhang Ailing moved to the foreign market in Shanghai very early, and her life experience caused her to have illusions. This is also a historical phenomenon and a tragedy of the times. But I still think that things are not so simple, there must be other reasons.Could it be that she didn't misidentify her in the first place, but in order to avoid the disgraceful reputation, she pointed out another person in the Yuan family with the same surname.Where to change?

Now it is also said to be rich. Fengrun began in the Jin Dynasty. It was originally Yongjiwu (wu, a commercial place near the ancient river) in Yutian County, and it was separated and set up as a county. In the early Qing Dynasty, Zunhua County, which bordered it to the north, was upgraded to a prefecture, and then belonged to Zunhua Prefecture. The original name was "Fengrun" in the Jin Dynasty. Later, because it belonged to the salt-producing (Yuezhichang) area and was rich in products, it was added next to "water" and named Fengrun. So it became a major traffic place inside and outside Jingdong Pass.

Fengrun is known as "beautiful mountains and different waters", and the famous green peak of Chengong Mountain stands alone. There is also the well-known Weishui flowing through the county, and the literati and scholars use "浭yang" as the elegant name for Fengrun; what is interesting is that the common people call it "Huanxiang River"-because Song Huizong was captured by the Jin soldiers and taken to the outside of the pass. Passing by here, seeing the water flowing from east to west, I lamented that I was not such a river, and there would never be a day to return to the west.
