Chapter 9 Chapter Six: The Mystery of Lin Daiyu's Sinking into the Lake

Red scholars generally believe that after the completion of Cao Xueqin's work, due to various reasons, except for the first 80 chapters, all the content of the latter was lost, and the last 40 chapters we see now were written nearly 30 years after Cao Xueqin's death. Years later, it was continued by Gao E. Gao E made the following arrangements for the final death of Lin Daiyu, the first heroine: After the continuous decline of the Jia family, in order to cheer Jia Baoyu who was in a state of madness, Jia's mother abandoned Lin Daiyu and adopted Wang Xifeng's "swapping plan" , arranged for Jia Baoyu and Xue Baochai to marry.Lin Daiyu watched her beloved marry Xue Baochai, so she "burned the manuscript to break the infatuation" and died of grief and anger.

Such an ending about Lin Daiyu is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people because of the widespread circulation of the current version. However, I personally think that although "Burning Manuscripts to Break Infatuation" can be called the most successful part of Gao E's sequel, it does not conform to Cao Xueqin's original intention. There is a special setting for the identities of Baoyu and Daiyu in the novel.Baoyu and Daiyu were both in heaven.Baoyu is the attendant of Shenying in the Chixia Palace in the Heaven Realm. Daiyu was originally a crimson celestial plant in the sky, and later cultivated into a female body. After Baoyu went down to earth, Daiyu followed. To put it more accurately, after Shenying's waiter came down to earth, the Crimson Pearl Immortal Grass, which had been cultivated into a female body, also went down to earth immediately. It is clearly stated in the book that the crimson bead fairy grass in the sky has a very clear purpose: when it was in the heaven, the Shenying waiter in the Chixia Palace came out every day to irrigate it with nectar, so that it could grow healthily. A female body has been cultivated (it can be called the Crimson Pearl Fairy). Therefore, after she descended to the mortal world and became Lin Daiyu, she had to return the tears of her whole life to Shenying's waiter.Because this Shenying waiter was Jia Baoyu after he descended to earth, Lin Daiyu's tears were returned to Jia Baoyu. This is a design of the relationship between characters with a mythical color that the author explained to readers in the first chapter, and it is a very beautiful description.

In the flow of the plot later in the book, we have a feeling that the two people who descended from the sky to the human world did not know that they descended from the heaven, and only when they were dreaming could they vaguely return to the state of being in the heaven. Feel.In short, in the human world, they live like other ordinary people.Lin Daiyu shed tears every time she had an awkward fight with Jia Baoyu. According to the assumption of the first round, this was all to repay the favor of irrigation. Is there a time in the book that Lin Daiyu's tears are almost gone?Yes, this is the forty-ninth chapter. At that time, the suspicion between Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai had been eliminated, and Lin Daiyu was relieved of Jia Baoyu.Under such circumstances, Jia Baoyu also expressed his confusion about the reconciliation between Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai, and he also expressed his understanding after Lin Daiyu answered. At this time, Daiyu said: "Recently, I only feel sad, but tears seem to be less than in old years. Although my heart is sore, there are not many tears." As a female existence in the world, she loves to cry, but always With so many tears, she now realizes that she has fewer tears; but what she doesn't realize is that she is a crimson pearl fairy in the sky, and she is still crying in the world. However, readers will understand in their hearts after reading this that the total amount of tears she shed should be basically equal to the total amount that Shenying's waiter irrigated her in the sky. This amount keeps decreasing, and finally it is close to zero, which actually indicates that Lin Daiyu's journey of returning tears has an end.

Baoyu is also an immortal, but he doesn't know his true identity, and all his thoughts are human. After hearing what Daiyu said, what did Baoyu say?Baoyu said: "This is because you are used to crying, and you are suspicious. How can there be less tears?" He didn't know that there is a special relationship between the two of them, and their tears will decrease-repay the amount of irrigation that year. When it was almost over, people stopped crying. In the novel, the author Cao Xueqin's design of the past and present of the leading male Jia Baoyu and the leading female Lin Daiyu is indeed extremely exquisite, making the ups and downs of the tragic story of these two characters full of mystery. As for Lin Daiyu, who has the identity of the fairy world, how to arrange her final ending will definitely be carefully planned by Cao Xueqin.Among the first eighty chapters, Daiyu's Burial of Flowers, which best reflects Lin Daiyu's life and spiritual temperament, provides us with the best text for an in-depth analysis of Cao Xueqin's creative intentions. So, one of the most beautiful scenes in Daiyu's burial of flowers, what kind of life characteristics does Lin Daiyu reflect? And what does that have to do with her eventual death?Lin Daiyu described in the book has a prominent feature, that is, poetic existence—her life is poetic and fully artistic, and Daiyu's burial of flowers is a complete performance art.The concept of performance art has only appeared and flourished in the West in the past 100 years, or even in the past 50 years, but our ancestor Cao Xueqin wrote about Lin Daiyu's behavior in his novel more than 200 years ago. Art.This is by no means an exaggeration, you think, is her funeral a performance art?First, she has props. What props? There are flower hoe.Because the burial of flowers needs to be planed, so there must be a flower hoe.Lin Daiyu is a fragile person, what kind of flower hoe will she be carrying? If this flower hoe is not an artistic flower hoe, but a flower hoe sold in the market, she can't even lift it, let alone carry it.This means that she made a flower hoe for herself that can be carried on her shoulders. This flower hoe must be specially made. If this is not an artistic act, what is it?Moreover, there is a flower pouch hanging on this flower hoe, which is obviously carefully sewn and embroidered. Before it's over, I need to hold a broom in the other hand, because the petals need to be swept together. This flower broom, if you think about it, could it be the big broom used by the silly elder sister?surely not.It must be very delicate, and its raw material is not necessarily bamboo or something. It is hard for us to imagine what it is made of, but we can imagine that it is completely artistic. Not to mention the clothes, she must have carefully designed her own clothes that day.

She has a route for burying flowers, which she has already surveyed in advance in the Grand View Garden: exit her Xiaoxiang Hall, walk along such and such a place, such as passing through the Qinfang gate, and finally arrive at a corner—— Flower mound. She has a route and a destination. During the whole process, she sang the "Funeral Flower Ci" that she had prepared in advance. Her performance art is a performance art with sound, not silent. This is Lin Daiyu. You think, Cao Xueqin was able to imagine such a scene in that era, create such a character, and let her have such a complete artistic behavior, which is very remarkable.

Another time, when Lin Daiyu left the Xiaoxiang Pavilion, she was still angry with Baoyu at that time, but as a poetic existence, she was still full of poetic temperament, and her life was completely artistic. As she walked, she asked Zijuan, saying: "Clean up the house, put down a gauze drawer, and watch the big swallow come back, put down the curtain, lean on the lion, burn incense, and put the stove cover on." "What life? Now we talk about a harmonious society, the harmony between man and nature. Lin Daiyu has long been in harmony with nature. Her house allows swallows to make their nests. She said, "You cleaned up the house and put down a gauze drawer", why?The big swallow flies out to look for food for its little ones, and it will fly back to feed it. It needs to be convenient for the big swallow, so there will be a gray space in the screen window of the Xiaoxiang Pavilion, and there will be a swallow's nest in the gray space. The big swallow can fly Come back and fly out. This is Lin Daiyu's life. Then put down the curtain and lean on the lion. What does it mean to lean on the lion? The lion is a handicraft, used to hold the bottom edge of the curtain so that it will not be disturbed in the air flow-she arranges her life very delicately. Then, of course, enjoy the pleasure of snorting and burning incense. This incense is not the one burned by feudal superstition, but a high-grade spice that increases the indoor aroma. This kind of incense cannot be let out very suddenly. Therefore, after you put the incense in the incense burner, you have to cover the furnace cover and put a furnace cover with a flower leak. The life of a noble lady is very enjoyable, but for Lin Daiyu, this is no longer a material enjoyment. She turns it into a poetic attitude towards life and survives like this.

Another time, she ordered the girl to take down the shelf on which the parrot was standing. She raises parrots, not in cages, but on racks. She asked the girl to take off the shelf and hang it on a hook outside the moon hole window. There are moon-hole windows in the Xiaoxiang Pavilion. The shapes of the windows are very lively, not all of them have the same pattern. Then, she sat in the house, teased the parrot to play through the screen window, and taught her parrot to read poems. This is Lin Daiyu. Therefore, Lin Daiyu's existence is a poetic existence. Once she sheds tears, when she is about to leave this world, she will also disappear poetically.

I think my logic must hold. She is such a life, but also a fairy descended from the sky, she must be full of poetry when she leaves the world.Of course, that would be a poignant and mournful poem.It stands to reason that the fate and emotional entanglement of the protagonist in a literary work is nothing more than a kind of artistic creation, and readers will have different reading feelings from it.Although Gao E arranged for Lin Daiyu such a tragic ending of "burning the manuscript to break the infatuation", which conforms to Cao Xueqin's conception in the most basic way, but in terms of the time, cause of death, and method of death of Lin Daiyu, it is different. It does not conform to Cao Xueqin's original intention, which causes readers to have serious deviations in understanding the creative intention and aesthetic enjoyment. That being the case, how would I decipher Lin Daiyu's true ending? What is my basis?

What everyone reads now is usually the passbook. The last forty chapters of the 120 chapters of the current version are continued by Gao E.Some people like Gao E's sequel, especially the story about Lin Daiyu's ending.I also admit that this is the best passage in Gao E's sequel. The problem is, as I have repeatedly told you before, Gao E and Cao Xueqin are not collaborators. They do not know each other, have no contact, and their life trajectories do not overlap or intersect.Gao E continued to write 80 chapters, roughly after Cao Xueqin had passed away more than 20 years ago; and when his continuation and the first 80 chapters that had been tampered with were printed into a current edition of 120 chapters, It has been nearly thirty years since Cao Xueqin passed away. Therefore, you can think that there is a person who continued the book well, but you can't think that this is Cao Xueqin's. This is only the last forty chapters of Gao E.Cao Xueqin's is finished, and it's not one hundred and twenty chapters, but one hundred and eight chapters.Didn't Zhi Yanzhai say that the book has reached thirty-eight chapters, more than one-third of it.He finished writing, but the manuscript after eighty chapters got lost. Therefore, we can do some probing work to explore the content of the last twenty-eight chapters, including what Daiyu's death should be like.I think this exploration should still be meaningful.

I personally think that Daiyu's death should first be after the death of Jiamu. I have spent a lot of effort to analyze a point of view before, that is, as long as Jia Mu lives a day, she must escort Lin Daiyu for a day, and Jia Mu is willing to let Baoyu and Daiyu marry from the beginning, it is impossible to suddenly come to a hundred and eighty He made a big turn, agreed to the "substitution plan", and even disregarded Lin Daiyu's tragic life and death, and pulled his face down to be heartless-this does not conform to Cao Xueqin's previous description of the relationship between Jiamu and Lin Daiyu. Therefore, Lin Daiyu's death should first be after the death of Jia's mother. In this case, the biggest obstacle for Mrs. Wang and Aunt Xue to promote the "golden marriage" will disappear, and the situation will become clear. And in the last lecture, I also mentioned that there is not only one interest group in Rongguo Mansion, but another interest group, Aunt Zhao and Jia Huan, have also committed murder. Died of chronic poisoning as an earthly being.Another point, as I told you in the last lecture, who does Aunt Zhao have the most say in front of?Jia Zheng, the legal owner of Rongguo Mansion. After Jia's mother died, Lin Daiyu had no backer, and the "Golden Jade Marriage" was in full swing again; she herself took the medicine prepared by Aunt Zhao through Jiachang and Jia Ling, and was chronically poisoned; and Aunt Zhao reported to Jia Zheng The so-called misconduct between her and Baoyu, so Lin Daiyu's situation is very bad.You can't say that Aunt Zhao is completely spreading rumors. I mentioned it in the last lecture. In Chapter 52, when she entered the inner room of the Xiaoxiang Pavilion with small steps, Teng rushed in, and suddenly saw Jia Baoyu talking close to Lin Daiyu's body. Well, therefore, when she complained to Jia Zheng about this, she even felt at ease——I saw it with my own eyes! Then, she can exaggerate and even spread rumors and slander all over the world.

And the most critical problem is that Lin Daiyu came to the world to repay her tears, and her tears have basically been dried up.So, it's time for her to go back to heaven.Daiyu in the world would take the initiative to end her life under such circumstances. I think that Lin Daiyu's way of life is a poetic existence, and she also has the identity of the fairy world of crimson bead, so Lin Daiyu's way of death must be a poetic way of death.According to my research, in Cao Xueqin's works, the form of Lin Daiyu's death after eighty chapters should be a performance art that is even more beautiful than burying flowers. The way she took, I personally think, is Shenhu. A "red fan" friend became impatient when he heard me say this.He said he knew, I mean Daiyu committed suicide and jumped into the lake. This is a misunderstanding of what I mean. First, I did not say that Daiyu committed suicide. Daiyu is a fairy descended from the sky. I can't completely disagree with you saying that she committed suicide, because what you said is roughly correct. However, I would rather choose another vocabulary, because Lin Daiyu's death is a very poetic process of arranging her farewell to the world. She came poetically and left poetically. So I think, rather than saying that she committed suicide, it is better to say that she has gone to the fairyland-she came from the fairyland and returned to the fairyland. I firmly disagree with the idea of jumping into a lake, because it shows that you are insensitive to the important artistic difference between jumping into a lake and sinking into a lake.Jumping into the lake is to descend from a high place, a parabola, with a bang—of course, you may die very happily, but there is no poetry.Shenhu, after I dressed myself, slowly moved from the shallow part of the water to the deep part, it was very different! Don’t think that what I said seems weird. In the modern history of China, some people have adopted this artistic way of death to inspire the people. Before the Revolution of 1911, there was a martyr named Chen Tianhua, how did he die? Some people insisted that they jumped into the sea and died.Chen Tianhua did not jump into the sea, but jumped into the sea, there is a very important difference between the two.Chen Tianhua felt very depressed at the time. In order to arouse the Chinese people to end the rule of the Qing Dynasty, he wrote passionate words such as "Menghuihui". First, he cut off the braid that men must wear in the Qing Dynasty. It's shawl hair, and then I crossed the sea in Japan. There are relevant documents to prove this incident. He left his last words and wrote the "Letter of Death" the day before crossing the sea, which made his behavior have a certain artistry and shocking power. On December 8, 1905, he walked from the shallows of the sea to the depths of the sea step by step. The sea water hit his chest, then his neck, and finally submerged his head.He felt that he had fulfilled his mission in life—to tell everyone that the decadent reality of the Qing Dynasty ruling China should be changed. As an impassioned revolutionary, Chen Tianhua's behavior is different, but he didn't jump into the sea, he jumped into the sea. Now let me emphasize again, the way of death of Lin Daiyu I mentioned, you should not summarize it as jumping into a lake, she is sinking into a lake. There will definitely be "red fans" friends who will ask me: Regarding Lin Daiyu's death in a lake, what is your basis? It is still necessary to study from the first eighty chapters of Cao Xueqin's texts.Because Cao Xueqin's artistic technique always has foreshadowing, setting up foreshadowing in many places, and echoing and taking care of it after a long time.As I said in the last lecture, Zhi Yanzhai said that his "writing is as thin as a cow's hair".Just such a text. Some people say, are you tired of reading so much?It is your freedom not to be tired; I read this way, not only do I not feel tired, but also feel very happy, and I have gained a lot of aesthetic pleasure.Of course, it doesn’t mean that all novels have to be written in this way. The world is a big place, everyone has their own ambitions, and there are many ways to write and read novels, and this is one of them. Why did I say that Lin Daiyu would sink into the lake? There are many foreshadowings in the first eighty chapters. Now, I don't say it in order, but in order of importance in my mind - the most important at the beginning, the most important at the end, and some of the second in the middle. There is a basis, just in Chapter 76. This time, I wrote that on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Daiyu and Xiangyun were lonely together by the lakeside.Linked back and forth, until the end, there are two lines, these two lines are soul-stirring, Xiangyun's line is "crossing the crane shadow in the cold pond", and Lin Daiyu's line is "the soul of the flower buried in the cold moon". Some people may ask, is it not the "soul of burial of flowers", but the "soul of burial of poems"? "Lengyue Burying the Soul of Poetry" is indeed written in many current editions, but after examining various ancient editions, I think that Cao Xueqin's original pen should be "Human of Flowers", not "Spirit of Poetry".Why? "Flower soul" is not a vocabulary that appeared suddenly in it, it has appeared many times before this time. For example, there are two sentences in the twenty-sixth chapter, which are called: "The soul of the flower is silent and emotionless, where is the bird's dream and infatuation?" There is the word "soul of the flower".In Lin Daiyu's burial poems, the "flower soul" also appears many times, such as "The tragic song was sung outside the court last night, and it was known to be the flower soul and the bird soul" "The flower soul and bird soul are always hard to stay. shame".You see, "flower soul" is an inherent concept and an inherent vocabulary. In Chapter 76, it is the symbol of Lin Daiyu, just like the "crane shadow" in the previous sentence is the symbol of Shi Xiangyun. "Buying the flower soul in the cold moon" means that on a desolate Mid-Autumn night, the full moon of the Mid-Autumn Festival is reflected on the lake, and the lake is rippling, and the flower soul sinks silently and step by step, and is buried in it.Therefore, this couplet poem is a hint to Lin Daiyu's sinking into the lake, and it is a foreshadowing. Also, as early as Chapter 23, when Lin Daiyu first entered the Grand View Garden and lived in the Xiaoxiang Pavilion, she secretly read it with Jia Baoyu. The voice of the little girl singing is the sentences in it, which reminded her of many ancient poems.Cao Xueqin repeatedly wrote such sentences when writing, such as "the flowers fall and the water is red", "the water flows and the flowers fall and the two are ruthless", "the flowers fall in the water and the spring goes away".They form a dense image, that is, the young girl who is as beautiful as a flower will end her existence in the water.I think that when describing her listening to music, Cao Xueqin can quote many different sentences. Why is there such content back and forth between what she heard and what she thought?According to Cao Xueqin's writing habits, he couldn't just write casually, this is a foreshadowing. It is written in the book that a poetry club was established in the Grand View Garden, and the Begonia club appeared in the thirty-seventh chapter. After organizing the Begonia Society, everyone said that in the future, we should not use names like brother and sister when we write poems. We have to think of a signature. If you are a poet, you must have an alias.Lin Daiyu's alias is "Xiaoxiang Concubine".What does Concubine Xiaoxiang mean?Shun among Yao, Shun, and Yu in ancient legends had two concubines, one named Ehuang and the other named Nvying.Shun was a very good tribal leader. He often went out for inspections, but unfortunately died in Cangwu and never came back.Ehuang and Nvying went to look for him, and they were very sad. Their tears spilled on the bamboo, which made spots on the bamboo. This is the so-called mottled bamboo and Xiaoxiang bamboo. How did Ehuang and Nvying die in the end? "Tears into the water."This is recorded in ancient books.Ehuang and Nvying couldn't find Shun, their tears dried up and they died in the rivers and lakes. Therefore, the alias Xiaoxiang Concubine is actually implying that Lin Daiyu died in the lake in the end. Later, the Poetry Club changed from Haitang Club to Peach Blossom Club—because of Lin Daiyu's "Peach Blossom Poem", they later changed the name of the Poetry Club to Peach Blossom Club.Later, because Shi Xiangyun accidentally picked up a piece of willow catkins in spring, he took the lead in writing catkin poetry. As I mentioned earlier, the catkin poems written by Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai clearly reflect the two people's different ideas, different value orientations, and different life feelings.Lin Daiyu's catkin poem is "Tang Duoling", and the first line is called "Fen Falling into Baihuazhou".Fen, on the surface it refers to pollen, but it is actually implying a woman.Where did her life end?Baihuazhou.Baihuazhou is the name of the water area. This sentence is also a foreshadowing. The forty-fourth time for Sister Feng's birthday performance, there is a play called "The Story of the Hairpin", and there is a discount called "Male Sacrifice".The protagonist of this play is Wang Shipeng, and this play shows that Wang Shipeng went to the river to pay homage to a person. What are you writing this for?Because it was written very cleverly this time, Sister Feng's birthday is a very important event, but Jia Baoyu ran outside without notifying the family, wearing plain white clothes, riding a horse, and only one The servant Baoming followed him.Why did he go?In short, readers have forgotten about Jin Chuan's jumping into the well, because this incident is far away when the storyline develops here. But Cao Xueqin wrote very well. Through this pen, he told you that Jia Baoyu never forgot about Jin Chuan. He knew that his inappropriate behavior caused Jin Chuan's death, so he went to pay homage to Jin Chuan, because this day is also Jin Chuan's birthday. After Jia Baoyu left, he came back in a hurry. After all, he had to show up at Sister Feng's birthday banquet and opera singing. At this time, Cao Xueqin wrote very well: No one else cares, only Lin Daiyu said when she saw Wang Shipeng paying homage by the river: "This Wang Shipeng doesn't know much, you don't care where you are. Why do you have to kneel down to the edge of the river? As the saying goes, when you see things and think about people, all the water in the world comes from one source, no matter where the water is, just take a bowl and watch and cry, and you will be happy." Cao Xueqin's stroke can be said to kill three birds with one stone: First, no one could guess where Jia Baoyu had gone. Only Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu had a heart-to-heart relationship and understood Jia Baoyu's behavior best, so they guessed that he was going to pay homage to Jin Chuan. What Lin Daiyu said means that Jin Chuan threw himself into a well and died. The water in the world has one source. In fact, if you want to pay homage to Jin Chuan, you can scoop up a bowl of water from our Rongguo Mansion and Grand View Garden, and express your love to that bowl of water. Isn't my condolences all there? Why do you have to run out?She knew that Baoyu must have gone to a certain waterside outside—Baoyu did go to a well in a nunnery to complete the sacrifice—this shows that there is a telepathic connection between Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu. Lin Daiyu said this to Jia Baoyu.Second, it also uses this to point out Lin Daiyu's ending.Lin Daiyu's words - one person died in the waters, another person will come to pay homage to her - is called prophecy. The word "prophecy" appears many times in it, which is a hint of future destiny. This also shows that Lin Daiyu's final death has something to do with the waters. The third meaning is that after Lin Daiyu died in the water, Jia Baoyu will pay homage to her. It is very likely that Jia Baoyu scooped up a bowl of water ("all the water in the world comes from one source") and paid homage to her in the bowl of water. There may be such a plot later. So, like these are foreshadowing. We know that a distinctive feature that distinguishes it from other novels is the special writing method of "grass snakes and gray lines, stretching thousands of miles".Whether it is Daiyu and Xiangyun's Mid-Autumn Festival couplet poems, or Lin Daiyu's special meaning of "Xiaoxiang Concubine", and Baoyu's hint of offering sacrifices to the golden bracelet, one stone and three birds, are all manifestations of this foreshadowing. In fact, there is a more important foreshadowing in the eighteenth chapter, that is, four plays were ordered when the concubine Yuan visited her relatives. Which four plays? The first one is "The Banquet" in "A Handful of Snow". Zhi Yanzhai pointed out that "the defeat of the Fu Jia family" in "A Handful of Snow".In addition to many specific reasons, the final decline of the Jia Mansion will be entangled in an antique called a handful of snow. The second one is called "Qi Qiao", which is a part of it. Zhi criticizes it as "the death of Concubine Fu Yuan".The third one is "Fate of the Immortals". "Fate of the Immortals" is a part of "The Story of Handan". Zhiyanzhai pointed out that it is "Fu Zhen Baoyu sends jade". Now the key point for us is to analyze the fourth play - "Leaving the Soul", which is a part of it.Zhiyanzhai has a clear comment on this place, saying that this is "the death of Fu Daiyu".Now you go to see "Liu Hun" in it. This twist is called "Nao Shang" in the original script. What did it say?It is said that "people are not free until the Mid-Autumn Festival", you see, it has something to do with the Mid-Autumn Festival. "The life of a slave cannot be illuminated by the lonely moon", which has something to do with Leng Yue. "The rest of my life will rest in the rain tonight", which has something to do with night. "Hate in a hurry, footprints in the waves, the wind cuts the jade hibiscus", the meaning is even richer. There are two kinds of hibiscus flowers, one is woody, which grows in dry land, and the other is aquatic, which is lotus. The "Jade Hibiscus" mentioned here is a lotus flower, a flower in the water, which alludes to Lin Daiyu's final sinking in the lake and death in the waters. The fact that Lin Daiyu is a hibiscus flower in the book is not only a hint, but also a clear statement! On Jia Baoyu's birthday, "Shouyi Hongqunfang held a night banquet", the lottery was drawn, and Lin Daiyu's lottery was a hibiscus flower, on which was written "Fenglu Qingchou", and there was a poem called "Don't complain about the east wind, be yourself." .How to prove that this hibiscus flower is water hibiscus?Jia Baoyu was saddened by the fact that Qingwen, his most beloved person, died after being kicked out, so he wrote "Furong's Daughter". The lotus in his "Furong's Daughter" refers to lotus. There is a very clear description in the book: He asked the little girl Qingwen what to say when she died. The flower god is still the flower god of a certain kind of flower. At that time, the lotus was in full bloom, and the little girl said that she was the flower god of this flower, the flower god of the hibiscus flower. Therefore, it is indisputable that this hibiscus is not wood hibiscus, but water hibiscus.Zhi Yanzhai said, "The four events in the drama that I point out are the key to the great festival of Tongbu."Daiyu's death is of course a key point in the novel. Therefore, Daiyu should have died by sinking into the lake. Moreover, she must carefully design her costumes, her props, and her course of action like a funeral flower. Will she have a poem to say goodbye to the world? You can also imagine.Of course, because Daiyu descended from the heavens as a god, her so-called death in the world is actually her return to the heavens. Therefore, I estimate that Cao Xueqin's description of this passage will be very beautiful. And in the end she will die very differently than normal people. After Daiyu sinks into the lake, there will be no body, only her clothes and hairpins, only her belt or her veil, she is Xiandun. This is clearly stated in the book, she was not a mortal in the world, but a Crimson Pearl Fairy.
