Chapter 3 1. The flower falls and the person dies without knowing——Lin Daiyu

Also known as "Jinling Twelve Beauties", it has been emphasizing the concept of "Jinling".But Jinling here seems to refer to it in general, and Nanjing, Gusu, Hangzhou and even Huaiyang belong to Jinling. For example, Lin Daiyu is a native of Suzhou. Living under the fence of others in Beijing, she inevitably hurt her life experience, and has always expressed deep homesickness. The most concentrated expression of it is in the sixty-seventh chapter "Seeing Tuyi and Frowning Qingsi Hometown": Xue Pan returned from handling goods in the south of the Yangtze River and distributed gifts all over the place.Among them is a box of things for my sister Baochai, which are "pens, ink, paper, inkstone, paper of various colors, sachets, incense beads, fans, fan pendants, pollen, rouge, etc.; outside there are pedestrians brought by Huqiu. , Jiulinger, mercury-filled somersaulting boy, sand lamps, and clay figurine plays one after another, packed in boxes covered with green gauze; there is also a small statue of Xue Pan made of clay on Huqiu Mountain, and Xue Pan Nothing wrong."

——It is indeed a specialty of Suzhou.Suzhou's incense powder flower fans and handicrafts are still very famous today. Baochai is very good at being a man, and divides the gifts one by one and distributes them to everyone in the garden. Even Aunt Zhao, Jia Huan, mother and son are not left behind, and specially doubles the gift for Daiyu. "When Lin Daiyu saw the things in his hometown, she felt hurt by them. Thinking of her parents' death and no brother, living in a relative's house, where would someone bring me some earthen things? Thinking of this, I felt sad again. "

When Baoyu came to see it, he couldn't help comforting her again and again, and asked her to thank Baochai.Daiyu said: "My sister, that's not necessary. It's just that when brother Xue comes back, he will tell him some ancient sites in the south. I'll go and listen, and I'll just go back to my hometown." Eye circles are red again. The nostalgia of wandering children is overflowing on paper. However, in fact, Daiyu didn't live in Suzhou for long. As early as the second time when Lin Daiyu came out secretly for the first time, it was written in the book: "On that day, (Jia Yucun) accidentally swam to the ground of Huaiyang again, because I heard that this year's Yanzheng is Lin Ruhai. This Lin Ruhai's surname is Lin and his name is Hai, and his name is Ruhai. He is a former Tanhua, and now he has been promoted to Lantai. The doctor of the temple, originally from the Gusu family, has been hand-picked as the censor of Yanyan, and he has been in office for more than a month... Now there is only his wife, Jia Shi, who has a daughter named Daiyu, who is five years old."

This passage clearly states that although Daiyu was originally from Gusu, she came to Yangzhou with her father Lin Ruhai when she was five years old.The following year, her mother died, and she went to Jia's mansion with her mentor Jia Yucun, and reunited with Jia Baoyu, the old spirit by the Sansheng Stone Bank, and formed a sad relationship. In other words, Daiyu only stayed in Suzhou for five years, plus one year in Yangzhou, and her memory of Jiangnan was only six years old. However, on her body, she has always left a deep brand of Jiangnan, Gusu Fenghua. Su embroidery is famous all over the world. Most women in Suzhou are good at female red, and Lin Daiyu, a lady from a great family, is no exception.Although Xiren ridiculed Daiyu behind his back and said: "He won't do it. Forgive me, the old lady is afraid that he will be too busy. The doctor said that it is better to have a good life and rest, who will bother him to do it? It was a good year in the old year. I made a sachet; in the first half of this year, I haven't seen any needles and threads yet."

However, there are actually quite a few descriptions of Daiyu doing needlework in the book, and Daiyu is a lady but not a female worker. So what about Daiyu's ingenuity? In the 17th "Grand View Garden Examination Questions and Answers", Baoyu was rarely praised by his father, and when he was happy, he let the boys take off the clothes on his body—— Lin Daiyu heard that when she came to have a look, there was nothing left, so she said to Baoyu, "I gave them the purse I gave you too? You can't think about my things tomorrow!" After finishing speaking, she was angry. Going back to the room, he made half of the sachet that Baoyu bothered him to make the day before yesterday, took it in a fit of anger, and cut it.When Baoyu saw that he was angry, he knew something was wrong, so he hurried over and cut it through.Baoyu has seen this sachet before. Although it is not finished, it is very delicate. It took a lot of work. Now it is angry to see that it has been cut for no reason.Untied the collar in a hurry, untied the purse Daiyu had given from the red jacket inside, handed it to Daiyu and said, "Look, what is this! I took your things that time Has it been given to someone?" Lin Daiyu saw that he cherished it so much and carried it inside, so she knew that she was afraid that someone would take it away, so she regretted her recklessness and cut the sachet before seeing the soap, so she was ashamed and angry, bowed her head and said nothing.Baoyu said: "You don't need to cut it, I know you are lazy to give me something. How about I return this purse?" Then he threw it into his arms and left.Seeing this, Daiyu became more and more angry, choked up her breath, and burst into tears again, picked up her purse and cut it again.Seeing him like this, Baoyu hurriedly turned around and grabbed him, and said with a smile, "good sister, let him be spared!"

It is clearly stated here that the sachets made by Daiyu are "very exquisite". Not only Baoyu's sachets and purses, but even the tassels worn on the psychic jade that is his source of life, were also made by Daiyu, and they were snatched by Daiyu during another fierce quarrel between Baoyu and Daiyu. Come here and cut a few paragraphs. This also provoked the love motto of the old lady "If you are not friends, you will not get together". It can be seen that although Daiyu has a delicate temper, she never leaves the scissors.Baoyu's psychic jade is worn on the body every day, and the eyes of old ladies and wives are staring at it. If the work is not delicate and delicate, how can it catch the eyes of several old people?

Later, Baoyu bothered Yinger to tie the net, and Baochai enthusiastically urged, "It's better to tie the jade to tie the jade." It can be seen how much he cares about this matter. There is such a description in the twenty-eighth chapter "Jiang Yuhan's love for Qianxiang Luo Xue Baochai Shame Cage Red Musk Skewers": When Baoyu came in, she saw a girl on the ground blowing an iron, two girls on the kang were making pink thread, and Daiyu was bending over and holding scissors to cut something.Baoyu came in and smiled and said, "Oh, what's this for? I just ate, and I was so empty-headed, and I got a headache again after a while." Daiyu ignored him and just cut him... Baochai also came in and asked "What does Sister Lin do?" Seeing Lin Daiyu cutting, Yin smiled and said, "My sister is getting more and more capable, even cutting." Baoyu asked the girls, "Who called this tailor?" Lin Daiyu asked when she saw it. Girls, they said: "Whoever asks me to cut it, doesn't care about the second master's business!" Baoyu was about to speak, but someone came in and said, "Someone outside please..."

It can be seen here that Daiyu not only has to do her own work, but sometimes is also responsible for the cutting of other people in the garden, so Baoyu asked, "Who called this cutting?" Who is the one? There are only the old lady, Mrs. Wang and Sister Feng on the left, and no one else can order Daiyu. Before this paragraph, it was just written that Wang Xifeng asked Baoyu to help keep an account, "forty pieces of red makeup satin, forty pieces of python satin, one hundred pieces of yarn of various colors, and four gold collars." Baoyu said: "This What is it? It's not an account, it's not a gift, how do you write it?" Sister Feng said: "You just write it down, anyway, I understand it myself."

This unreported account was not revealed until the end, so readers, like Baoyu, were all stuffed in the gourd. However, looking at the context, it is likely that this account is related to Daiyu's work, or a gift for some important person. If Daiyu's hands were unlucky and her life was not good enough, how could she accept such an envoy?Naturally, apart from her, there is no one in the garden to trust, that's why even the old lady tacitly allowed Sister Feng to bother her. When Sister Feng delivered tea to Daiyu, she also said: "You don't need to take it away, I'll send someone to bring it. I have one more thing to ask you tomorrow, and send someone to deliver it together." It can be seen that Sister Feng often asks Daiyu to do things. of.However, Wang Xifeng, the omnipotent head of the family, can ask for the orphan Lin Daiyu. It is really limited when I think about it. Besides, I have to "send someone to deliver it." poetry?

Some experts speculated that Sister Feng was illiterate, so they asked Daiyu to help them with some knowledge of pen and ink.No, for ordinary trivial matters, Sister Feng has a literate Caiming who is specially used for errands such as counting the roster and signing in; if the matter is more important, she may bother Jia Lian, Baoyu, or even Sannian Tanchun, but It's not enough to find Daiyu who doesn't care about common affairs. This cousin's ability to ask for a cousin at home is at most only a matter of needlework, and only needlework is the only thing that she will say in public without caring, without thinking it is disobedient.

In fact, apart from Daiyu, there are quite a few women whose hometowns are stated to be in Gusu. The first one is Xiangling, who lives next to the Calabash Temple in Renqing Lane, Shili Street, Changmen, Gusu. This is the first woman to appear in the book, not only from Gusu, but also to report clearly on the streets and alleys of her family. However, this girl was abducted at a young age, and she can't even remember her hometown. , did not know that he was Daiyu's fellow countryman.Perhaps, this is what makes people sad! However, she had her own perception in the dark. Later, Xiangling worshiped Daiyu as her master and learned to compose poetry.Even Baoyu sighed and said: "This is exactly the 'earthly spirit and outstanding man'. God is born with no hypocrisy. We sigh all the time and say that it is a pity that he is so vulgar. Who knows what he is today. It can be seen that the heaven and the earth are great. " "Outstanding people from the land", this place, of course, is Gusu. Miaoyu, who appeared last among the twelve beauties, was also from Gusu, by coincidence.Lin Zhixiao's family reported to Mrs. Wang: "There is a man with hair outside who practices cultivation. He is originally from Suzhou, and his ancestors are also from the family of scholars and officials. Because this girl was sick since she was a child, she bought many substitutes but failed. Well, after all, this girl entered the Buddhist sect herself, so she got better, so she took her hair to practice, she is only eighteen years old this year, and her dharma name is Miaoyu." This girl who came from a family of scholars and officials in Suzhou, who has been sick since she was a child, and who is good at poetry and prose, does not look like Daiyu who is a monk? A Gusu woman who is more mysterious than Miaoyu, there is also a secret "needle god" Hui Niang, who is the former owner of Jiamu's beloved Yingluo, "also a scholarly eunuch's family. As for calligraphy and painting, I just occasionally embroidered a few pieces of needlework for fun, not a commercial item...but this Hui Niang died at the age of eighteen." She came from a scholarly eunuch, was proficient in calligraphy and painting, and was destined to die young. Does this mean Hui Niang or Daiyu? In addition to these ladies, the women from Gusu also have twelve female opera singers and their teachers. Naturally, they are all proficient in rhythm, smart and beautiful women, and the elder officials among them have very similar features. Daiyu, who is also weak in body, eccentric and conceited, can be said to be Daiyu who has fallen into a show business.Later, the theater troupe disbanded, and the one who followed Daiyu was Ouguan. The one who had been so bold as to burn paper to sacrifice to the medicine official in the garden was also the seed of infatuation. In addition to these people with names and surnames, there is also a Suzhou driver from Suzhou who drives a Tangmu boat in the garden. She is the lowest-status Suzhou girl in the book. However, Baoyu said that "women are made of water." flesh and blood", then the women who sailed in the water could only come from Gusu. Unfortunately, they were unable to send Daiyu back to her hometown in the Tangmu boat. Xiangling is the first character to appear in the secondary book of Twelve Beauties, and Daiyu is the first character to appear in the main book of Twelve Beauties. The background, experience, appearance, and even temperament of the two are very similar. First look at the detailed account of Zhen Yinglian's origin, which is at the beginning of the first chapter of the book: At that time, the earth fell into the southeast, and in this southeast corner there is a place called Gusu, and a city called Changmen, which are the most prosperous and romantic places in the world. There is a Shili Street outside Changmen, and there is a Renqing Lane in the street. There is an ancient temple in the alley. Because the place is narrow, people call it the Calabash Temple.Next to the temple lived a hometown eunuch whose surname was Zhen, first name Fei, and style name Shiyin. The first wife was granted a family name, with a virtuous temperament and a deep understanding of etiquette and righteousness.Although the family is not very rich, the locals also regard him as a famous family.Because of Zhen Shiyin's indifferent nature, he doesn't care about fame, and only enjoys watching flowers and bamboos every day, drinking wine and reciting poems. There is only one shortcoming: this year is half a hundred, and there is no child under her knees, only one daughter, whose baby name is Yinglian, and she is only three years old. Look at the introduction of Daiyu's origin in the second chapter of the book: It turns out that the ancestor of Lin Ruhai once attacked Liehou, and now he has been in Ruhai for five generations. At the beginning, only the third generation was enshrined, because today's Long En Shengde is far ahead of the previous generation, with extra grace, the father of Zhi Ruhai inherited another generation; Zhi Ruhai was born in Kedi.Although it belongs to the family of Zhong Ding, it is also a family of scholars. It's a pity that the Lin family's branch is not prosperous, and their descendants are limited. Although there are several families, they are all members of the same family as Ru Hai, and they don't have any direct descendants. Now Hai is forty years old, and there is only one three-year-old son, who died last year.Although there are several concubines, he is destined to have no children, so there is nothing he can do.Today there is only Jia's first wife, who has a daughter named Daiyu, who is only five years old.The husband and wife have no children, so love is like a treasure, and seeing that he is smart and handsome, he also wants to make him read a few words, but pretending to be an adopted son, chatting to relieve the sigh of desolation under his knees. Although Zhen Shiyin and Lin Ruhai are very different in status, one has a "peaceful nature" and is a "first-class character of a god"; Only one daughter, love is like a treasure. The most coincidental thing is that the two girls also had an adventure when they were three years old. They were turned into monks by a monk with a scarlet head, but their parents refused to agree, so the monk spoke nonsense and judged her life. . It's just that Xiangling's story is true, but Daiyu's experience is hidden; from the mouth of the monk, Xiangling got a poem, which not only predicted her future doom, but even that she would change her name to "Xiangling". , who was going to marry someone with the surname "Xue" said it out; Daiyu got a warning—— Daiyu said: "I have always been like this. I have been taking medicine since I was able to eat and drink. I have not stopped until today. I have invited many doctors to prepare prescriptions, but none of them have worked. When I was three years old that year, I heard it. A monk with a skinny head said that he wanted to make me a monk, but my parents refused. He also said: "Since I don't want to let him go, I'm afraid that his illness will never recover. If I want to get better, I will never see you again unless I am from now on." Crying, except for parents, all relatives and friends with other surnames should not be seen, so that this life can be safe.' Crazy, he said these nonsense, but no one paid attention to him. Now he still eats ginseng Yangrong pills. " It is fantastic enough that both Xiangling and Daiyu were enlightened by the skinny monk one after another. What's even more strange is that the story of Daiyu's predecessor, Crimson Pearl Immortal Grass, was also revealed from the dream of Zhen Shiyin, Xiangling's father. It is even more strange and strange, illusory and illusory. In addition to these Cinderella, Xiangling and Daiyu met another worldly person when they were young: Jia Yucun. Yinglian was only three years old when she met Jia Yucun in the arms of her father Zhen Shiyin; and Daiyu was only five years old when she became a teacher of Jia Yucun. Both Zhen and Lin also have great kindness to Jia Yucun: Na Yucun was originally a poor scholar who stayed overnight in the Calabash Temple. He was helped by Zhen Shiyin, and just now he had money to go to Beijing to take the exam and seek fame. However, after he became an official, the first thing he did when he turned around was not to repay the Zhen family, but to find Jiao Xing, the girl of the Zhen family whom he had coveted for a long time, as his concubine; and after hearing the news of Yinglian's disappearance, He gave Mrs. Zhen an empty promise to the Feng family: "It's okay, I will come back as a servant." However, he met Yinglian later, and instead of fulfilling his promise, he sent Yinglian back to Zhen's family to reunite her mother and daughter. The random judgment of the gourd case pushed Yinglian to Xue Pan, the overlord, which directly caused the tragedy of Xiangling's life. Then, Jia Yucun accepted Lin Ruhai's great kindness, relied on his letter of recommendation, followed Daiyu to Beijing, got acquainted with Jia Zheng, Wang Ziteng and others, and was able to "repay" Jia and Lin after they were reinstated. Where is home? Will it be another intensified revenge and ruthlessness? After he heard the story of Feng Yuan and Xiangling from the door, he once hypocritically gave two comments: "This is just a dreamy love, just meeting a pair of poor-fated children." This sentence refers to Xiangling and Feng Yuan, but it is also true and can be placed on the heads of Daiyu and Baoyu. So, when Jia's family is in decline, how will Jia Yucun treat this pair of poor children? When Zhou Rui's family described Xiangling's appearance, they used a sentence: "somewhat like the character of Grandma Rong in our Dongfu." Qin Keqing, Grandma Rong, is the one who has the beauty of Baochai and Daiyu, that is, has Half of Daiyu's characteristics. Therefore, after calculation, Xiangling's image also resembles Daiyu a little bit. The first conversation between Xiangling and Daiyu was at the beginning of the twenty-fourth chapter. Daiyu listened to a few lines of libretto, felt something in her heart, and sat on the stone—— It is said that Lin Daiyu was teasing her own feelings and thoughts, and when she was lingering, someone suddenly slapped her from behind and said, "Why are you here alone?" It is Xiangling.Lin Daiyu said: "You silly girl, you can fool me like this. Where are you coming from now?" Xiangling smiled and said, "I came to look for our girl, but I can't find him. You guys Zijuan is also looking for you, saying that Second Grandma Lian brought you some tea. Let's go, go home and sit down." As he spoke, he took Daiyu's hand and came back to the Xiaoxiang Pavilion.Sure enough, Sister Feng sent two small bottles of new tea for serving.Lin Daiyu sat down with Xiangling. What's more, they have something serious to talk about, but they just say that this one is good at embroidering and that one is good at thorning. They played chess again, read a few sentences, and Xiangling left.No problem. It can be seen here that Daiyu and Xiangling have a very good relationship, so Xiangling casually "took Daiyu's hand and came back to the Xiaoxiang Pavilion", and even stayed as a guest for a long time, "Next game , read two books", getting along very well. It is precisely because of this that later there was the ultimate description of Xiangling worshiping Daiyu as his teacher.See the forty-eighth chapter of "Excessive Love, Misthinking, Playing, Playing, Muya and Girls Collecting Poems", Xiangling came to live in the garden with Baochai, and visited all the people in the garden one by one. When she came to the Xiaoxiang Pavilion—— At this time, Daiyu is half recovered, and she is very happy to see Xiangling also come to live in the garden.Xiangling said with a smile, "I've come in now, and I've got time. It's my good fortune to teach me how to compose poems!" Daiyu laughed and said, "If you want to compose poems, you can worship me as a teacher. Although I don't understand, I can afford to teach you." Xiangling smiled and said: "As expected, I will ask you to be my teacher. You must not get bored." After all, here is another formula that I don't know whether it is surprising or lamentable: that Jia Yucun was Daiyu's enlightenment teacher, and Daiyu took Xiangling as his apprentice. So, isn't Xiangling involved with Jia Yucun again? Moreover, in the first round, Jia Yucun once made a song about the five rhythms of the moon:
Later, I met Zhen Shiyin, the father of Xiangling, and once said:
After Xiangling accepted Daiyu as his teacher, the first title he got was Yinyue, and he wrote three songs in a row, and the last one was even obtained in a dream:
Not to mention that there are many prophecies in Xiangling's poem, which hinted at his own tragic fate, the last sentence "why not reunite forever" is exactly opposite to the first sentence of Yucun Qijue's "every three or five will be reunited". It's amazing enough. I really don't know what kind of intentions are hidden in Cao Gong's arrangement! In recent years, a theory about "Lin Daiyu sinking into the lake" has become very popular, and some people even wrote a whole book to prove it.And when someone raises it, someone will add it, and it is almost a decision for a while. However, after checking his books, the reasons are as follows: Reason 1: In the book, Lin Daiyu is repeatedly compared to Xishi, saying that she is "three points better than Xizi in illness", and Daiyu once wrote "Five Beauties", chanting Xishi's "a generation of Qingcheng chasing waves", so Daiyu should also die in In the waves. However, there was also a metaphor in the retrospection of "burying the flying swallows in the incense tomb and weeping for the remnant red". Does it mean that Daiyu should be Zhao Feiyan? When Daiyu took the name of the flower, she picked the poem "Don't complain about the east wind, be yourself." This poem originally came from "Ming Fei Song" written by Ouyang Xiu in Song Dynasty. Concubine Ming's quatrains, so can Daiyu be regarded as Concubine Ming? Why did all the red scholars assign Mingfei's poem to Jia Tanchun? "Five Beauties" also wrote Yuji, Lvzhu, and Hongfu. Does Daiyu have to copy their fates of drinking swords, running away, and jumping off a building one by one? In addition, the book also repeatedly compares Xue Baochai to Concubine Yang Gui. Could it be that Baochai will die in Maweipo in the future and be strangled to death with white silk by the emperor? Why do red scholars all add this history to the concubine Yuan, without mentioning Baochai? Reason 2: Jin Chuan threw himself into the well and died. Baoyu went to the Narcissus Nunnery to offer sacrifices. Daiyu satirized him: "All the water in the world comes from one source. No matter where you scoop up a bowl of water and watch it cry, you can enjoy yourself." Therefore It is speculated that Baoyu will also go to the river to cry for Daiyu in the future. However, there has long been a hint of "mourning the frown" in Zhizhi's criticism, but it is in the Xiaoxiang Pavilion, a place where "fallen leaves are rustling and cold smoke is deserted", not a riverside. Besides, the Jin Chuan who died in the well was wearing Baochai's clothes after death. If it is because Jin Chuan was thrown into the well that someone died in the water, I'm afraid that person can only be Baochai. It can't be tied to Daiyu's head, can it? Reason 3: In the poem between Daiyu and Xiangyun under the moon, there is a sentence "crossing the crane shadow in the cold pond, burying the soul of the flower in the cold moon", so it can be inferred that Daiyu died in the lake on a moonlit night... However, "Crossing the shadow of a crane in the cold pond" is clearly a sentence by Shi Xiangyun. The book says that Xiangyun is in the shape of a mantis in the shape of a crane, so it can be seen that the crane is used to describe Xiangyun. Therefore, if it is said that someone died in Hantang because of such a sentence, it can only be Xiangyun; How can you tell that the flower fell into the water? What's more, Lin Daiyu clearly said when burying flowers: "It's not good to leave them in the water. You see, the water here is clean, and it just flows out. The place where there are people is dirty and smelly, and the flowers are still ruined." She doesn't even want to throw Luohua in the water, but instead puts her icy and clean body in the water to be ruined? Reason 4: Daiyu listened to the "West Chamber", there is a sentence "the flowers fall into the water and the water is red, and there are thousands of worries", so Daiyu also died in the water. How far-fetched is this? The story of The West Chamber is about Cui Yingying and Zhang Sheng having a dreamlike joy. In fact, Baoyu also used the sentence to tease Daiyu. Does that mean that Daiyu will also hug a pillow to attend Baoyu's appointment? What's more, even if Daiyu is compared to Cui Yingying in the tragedy "Hui Zhen Ji", that Yingying also died of illness and never threw herself into the lake. Therefore, be it Xi Shi, Cui Ying, Fei Yan, or even the concubine Ming, they are all just a certain physical and temperament traits, such as sickness, insanity, slender body, or unlucky beauty, which symbolizes If you want to understand a certain characteristic of Daiyu, you must not use the opponent's model to force Daiyu to apply to Daiyu, let alone find an argument out of context. Such a simple truth, but some sensationalist red scholars want to talk nonsense with their eyes open and put forward an argument of "Lin Daiyu sinking into the lake", deceiving themselves and others. In fact, these people often have a hypothetical ending idea first, and then try to find evidence to support it in the 800,000 words.Think about it, eighty chapters of a long novel, is it worth searching through it this way?Let alone Daiyu sinking into the lake, if you say that Daiyu married far away, it is not difficult to find an argument. However, there are really no clues about the cause of Daiyu's death in the book, but is it necessary to ask the red scholars to go far away to find evidence? Let's look at the twenty-second chapter of Gengchen's book, where Xiangyun said that the senior official "looks like Sister Lin", which caused a dispute of tongues.Daiyu broke out to Baoyu: "You are afraid that he will offend me, and I am angry with him. I am angry with him, what has it to do with you? He has offended me, what has to do with you?" There is a double-lined criticism: "The question is very true, but it may not be answered. If it can be done like this, the tears will disappear in the future, and there will be no such thing in the world." It is so clear here that Daiyu "will die in tears in the future" instead of committing suicide with hatred. At the end of the twenty-eighth chapter of the Jiaxu edition, there is another line of fat commentary that reveals: "Since I heard the song, I wrote back the prescription, which is just a white description of the disease." It can be seen that Daiyu's illness is getting worse day by day, and it is logical that she died of tears. Death from illness is a pattern that has been set early on, so why should suicide be unnecessary? In addition to Daiyu's wish to "cover the wind with a pile of pure land" and Zhizhi's "death in tears", the 20 poems written by Qing Dynasty literati Fucha can also be used as evidence that "Daiyu could not sink to the lake to die". Mingyi was a man from Manchuria with a yellow banner. In his collection of poems "Green Smoke and Small Window Collection", there are twenty quatrains in "A Dream of Red Mansions". The preface is as follows: "Cao Zixueqin wrote a book, remembering the prosperity of Fengyue, because his ancestors were Zhifu in Jiangning. The so-called Grand View Garden is the former site of today's Sui Garden. Unfortunately, his book has not been handed down. Few people in the world know about it. Yan." A very important point in this passage is that it points out that "it is a pity that his book has not been handed down, and those who are rarely known in the world".In other words, when Mingyi saw it, Gao E and Cheng Weiyuan's pseudo-sequel had not yet appeared on the market.Because they are printed and published, when the sequel comes out, it is no longer considered "little knowledge in the world", let alone "book not passed on".That is to say, what Mingyi sees is definitely the real version of Dream of Red Mansions, the true version of Dream of Red Mansions with an ending or at least a partial ending. Mingyi said that "Cao Zixueqin published a book written by his institute", which is a bit vague. It can be understood that Cao Xueqin personally showed him a book, or it can be understood that Cao Xueqin published a book. But he also mentioned that "Gai Qi's ancestors were Zhifu in Jiangning", which shows that he is an insider or a family friend. At that time, it was copied among the royal family and nobles, so it is not surprising whether Mingyi borrowed it from Cao Xueqin himself or from a friend. What is important is that he saw the real original. Then, his poem referring to Daiyu's death is very important, because that is the real answer of Daiyu's death:
This poem clearly tells us that Daiyu's ending is just like what she wrote in "The Burial of Flowers", which is a prophecy: "Once the spring is gone, the beauty will grow old, and the flower will fall and the person will die." Daiyu died at the end of spring, not autumn as mentioned in "Autumn Window and Rainy Night". Li Daiyu wrote a lot of poems, each of which has meaning, but the only one that can really be used as a prophecy of her death is "The Burial of Flowers", so Lao Parrot repeated it again and again. It's a pity that some redologists just pretend not to hear. The third line of Mingyi's poem "A ray of fragrance to return to the soul in peace" is an allusion to Ye Xiaoluan, a talented woman from the Ming Dynasty. "Picture Baojian Continuation, Xiling Guiyong, Liechao Poetry Collection Biography" contains: Ye Xiaoluan, a talented woman in the late Ming Dynasty, styled Qiongzhang, was born in Wujiang, Jiangsu. He could recite "Chu Ci" at the age of four, was good at poetry and painting, and died unmarried at the age of seventeen. After his death, his father Zhongzhao engraved his posthumous work, which was called "Returning to Life Fragrance". That Ye Xiaoluan once had the elegant act of "abandoning the bead ring to collect Hanyu, and donating the powder box to bury the soul of the flower". Some people think that the idea of "daiyu burying the flower" came from this, so this allusion is very well used. appropriate.Ye Xiaoluan died of illness, and Daiyu also died of illness, rather than committing suicide by drowning herself. The last line in the poem "Qiqing, Shenjiu and Hongsi" has already stated the cause of her death very clearly. It is clearly written in "The Song of Burying Flowers": "If you don't want to collect the beautiful bones in a kit, a piece of pure land can cover the wind." The paranoid red scholar, why must go against her pure wish of "the quality is clean and the clean is gone", Do you have to push the innocent Daiyu into the water to make her "drain into the ditch"?
