Chapter 8 Prose: Moon, Que Ye - Zhang Xiaofeng

"Yue, Que Ye" is an explanation of a literature book written 2,000 years ago.Que means "lack". That explanation fascinated me. Zeng Guofan titled his residence "Qiu Que Zhai", seeking vacancies? Why?Why not seek perfection? That name also fascinates me. What's so good about "Que"? "Que" is a bit like a part of the ancient Chinese character, and I gradually fell in love with Que's realm. Am I no longer in love with the full moon? No, I just started to understand that flowers blooming is an accident, but at the same time I learned to love them, the "normality" that the moon is not full and the flowers don't bloom.

In the Chinese tradition, the sayings of "heaven is crippled and earth is missing" or "heaven is deaf and earth dumb" are almost unquestionably accepted by ordinary people.Perhaps due to long-term hardships and hardships, the interpretation of heaven and earth in Chinese mythology is often surprising. In "Huainanzi", we found that both the sky of China and the land of China were once injured. Nu Wa repaired and healed all the broken pieces with her gentle and loving hands. At that time, the sky was pierced, and Nu Wa smelted five-color stones to mend the sky.The ground shook, and Nuwa broke Shen'ao's claws to stabilize the four poles (much like an old grandmother folded newspapers to pad the legs of a table).Like a capable housewife, she swept a pile of ash and stopped the flood.

The Chinese have always believed that heaven and earth have their imperfections. I really like the myth of a minority in Southwest China. They say that the heaven and the earth are made by gods and goddesses. At that time, male gods were in charge of making the sky, and goddesses were in charge of making the earth. When they completed the heaven and earth separately and planned to join them together, a terrible thing happened; the goddesses were too diligent, and they made the earth too big to fit with the sky. However, they finally thought of a good way. They folded the earth to form high mountains and valleys, and then the earth collapsed.

Did the high mountains in the southwest inspire them and remind them of this myth? The world is flawed, but flaws cause wrinkles, and wrinkles create the beauty of strange peaks and valleys. The moon cannot always be round, and unsatisfactory things happen all the time in life. When we calmly admit all these flaws, we suddenly find that nothing is unacceptable. In another myth of the Han nationality, it is said that the earth was crooked when the Gonggong clan hit Buzhou Mountain——from then on, "the earth fell into the southeast", and the Yangtze River and the Yellow River flowed majesticly eastward all the way, outflowing thousands of miles. The breathtaking scenery. And the sky was also crooked at the same time, but in the opposite direction, it was crooked to the northwest. It is said that most of the sun, moon and stars fell in that direction with a crash. If we look up on a summer night and suddenly find the direction where the stars are shining, let us believe that the sky belonging to China is "the sky is tilted to the northwest"!

For 5,000 years, the Han people have lived with straight spines in this crooked world, just because we believe that incompleteness is not only acceptable, but also beautiful. And has the moon ever really been round? In fact, I have never seen a truly round thing in this world. A piece of scallion pancake is not round enough, and a piece of nickel market is not round enough. Even a circle drawn by a compass cannot be perfectly round if viewed with a high-level microscope. The real circle exists in the concept, but in the real world, we can only make a "copy" of the circle. As far as the actual operation is concerned, the thickness of the pencil heart on a piece of compass is already different when drawing the starting point and the ending point of the circle.

All celestial bodies are spherical when viewed from a distance, but they are not absolutely round. The earth is roughly elliptical. Even if we admit that the roughly round light of the moon is also considered round, it is also "square when it is round, that is, when it is short". Just like the bell striking twelve o'clock, when you hear the bell, it is no longer twelve o'clock. In addition, we can look at it from another angle. We say that the moon is full and the moon is full, but it is actually deceived by our limited vision. It is the moonlight, not the moon itself, that has the change of fullness and emptiness. The moon is neither round nor short, it just keeps rounding like the earth without increasing or decreasing—with its not very round circle.

It's good to see flowers in the morning and evening, but the real flower watchers can't enjoy the flowers at that moment? When the first green shoots are tender and timid, the flowers are already hidden there. When the soft branches tentatively relax their hands and feet in the atmosphere, the flowers are hidden there. When the bud quietly conceives, the flower is there. When the petals are in full bloom, the flower is there. When the incense burns and the ground turns into mud, the flowers are still there. When there is only a clump of green manure after a rain, the flowers are still there. When the fruit is ripe, the flower is always there, even when the core is buried deep in the ground, the flower is still there.

Whether you see it or not, the flowers are always there.Whether it is full or lacking, the moon is always there, don't be a flower watcher for a while!Don't be a moon watcher for one night!Isn't life perfect at the moment of life?At that moment, shouldn't we worship, be grateful and rejoice? As we loved the full moon, let us also love the waning moon—they are the same moon!
