Chapter 76 Revisit old dreams

Comrade Wang Yidi has been the editor of China Children's Publishing House since 1957.We have been in "Children's Literature" many times We've known each other from the party. Now, I feel honored to be able to write a preface to this collection of his essays. I must admit, my time and energy seem to be dwindling.I can't appreciate all of his manuscripts sent by comrades in one place, but I can fully feel the charm of his articles. For example, "Sea Township Customs" describes his nostalgia for childhood life. "The River in My Heart" describes his deep affection for small rivers, which reminds me of the boundless sea I love.

I have never been to the places he has traveled in China, except Jinggangshan!Such as Aksu on the Silk Road, Tanggula and Kunlun on the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, etc., which make me very envious.Over the past few years, I have been living a boring life as a "well frog" all day long due to my limited mobility. After reading this travel note, it is so vivid and vivid that it gives me great joy. I have been to the foreign places he has been to half a century ago, such as London, Paris, Rome, Florence and other European cities.Although the times are different, I think the historical sites should always remain the same.As if reliving an old dream, I recalled the three weeks in London in 1936. In the thick fog where the sun, the moon and the stars could not be seen day and night, I visited the British Museum, Minster Abbey—visited some British friends. What I like is that there are greenery everywhere in this country, which looks much more comfortable than Beijing before liberation.

Speaking of Paris, I will never forget the 100 days I stayed there.I live on the seventh floor of a street named after the Italian poet Maria Schillida in the seventh arrondissement ("My Landlord" I wrote here is part of my life in Paris).Because my residence is very close to the Louvre, I spent the whole morning in the Louvre. The portrait of Mona Lisa is hung above a long table, between two green candles.I often stand beside this long table and eat my simple breakfast - a bag of chocolate candies! After breakfast, I came out and sat on the steps of the palace gate, admiring the big flower bed at the gate of the palace. In the flower bed, there are tulips in full bloom in four distinct colors of red, yellow, white and purple!

Italy is one of my favorite European countries. It is built of stone: stone palaces, churches, stone colosseums, stone statues, stone roads, and often fountains along the roadside.Rome is a city built on seven hills, with 500 churches, I have been to almost all of them. The largest are St. Peter, St. Mary, St. John and St. Paul. The Vatican is near St. Peter's Church and is the palace of the Pope. This is a "country within a country"!I went in and looked, but I only remembered that the doorman was a Swiss soldier in a yellow uniform, but I didn't remember anything else. What Florence left for me, besides the statues and murals in the art gallery, are the lamp sockets on the walls of the mansions. Under each lamp there is an iron ring for tying a horse, which is used for tying up horses during parties or banquets. For horses, very chic!

The descriptions of these places by comrades in one place, due to the different times and attention points, enabled me to see many other aspects of those places and expanded my knowledge. What I write in letter pen is almost all about my own memories, which shows the charm of this prose.I should say that Comrade Yidi's collection of essays recalling childhood and travel is not only the best reading material for teenagers, adults should also read it.Because this is a prose work with sincere feelings and clear scenery; smooth, healthy and inspiring. On February 26, 1987, the first edition of Children's Publishing House in September 1991. )
