Chapter 38 say dream

Since I got sick in the autumn of 1980, I have been unable to walk, and have not participated in social activities for six years, but I have extremely cheerful and colorful dreams almost every night.I met deceased or long-lost relatives and friends, and I roamed the wonderlands of five continents and four seas. During the day, my body is trapped in a small building, sitting withered in front of the desk; at night, my dream soul floats around, compensating for my loneliness during the day. These good dreams are due to the letters and books I receive every day from friends at home and abroad, acquainted or unknown, as well as various monthly Chinese and foreign daily newspapers. The contents of these letters and publications are diverse and all-encompassing, so the thousands of splashing waves in my mind interweave and overlap at night to present a magical and wonderful picture!

I dreamed that my parents were talking to me. The background was not Zhongjianzi Lane in Beijing, where I lived in my childhood, but the Nantianmen on the top of Mount Tai.My mother was still smiling, and my father patted me on the shoulder, pointing me to the vast sea of clouds and the gurgling flying spring in the middle of the mountain. I dreamed that on the Weibing Lake of my alma mater in the United States, I lightly steered the boat, and the boat swung far away, but I heard an American classmate on the shore of the lake behind me calling: "There is a letter from China, come back and read it!"

I dreamed that in the quiet and elegant small restaurant "Futian's House", which was recessed among a row of high-rise buildings in Tokyo, Japan, I sat on a low table with Japanese friends on a clean mat and drank. Sipping light baijiu while eating spicy sashimi that I especially appreciate. I dreamed that I was standing alone on the steps of the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, and there were red, purple, yellow, and white tulips planted in pieces in a large round flower bed in front of me.From there, I walked to the cafe on the Champs Elysees Avenue, quietly watching the pretty girls in light blue and light yellow spring clothes passing by.

I dreamed that I came out of the museum in Rome, Italy, walked on the cobblestone road full of flowing springs, and then entered a magnificent cathedral, standing behind the crowd, listening to the solid and clear voice of the choir . I dreamed that from the high-altitude airplane window, I looked down at the boundless yellowish desert, with a rolling Nile across the middle. From the shade of the long green willow trees on both sides, the tops of the great buildings in the ancient country of Egypt are exposed. I dream...these dreams contain my favorite scenery and people I am attached to, and when I wake up, I always wake up with "the morning pillow is clear, and the strange tears are suddenly filled".Of course, the dream is joyful, but after waking up, it is a little bit bitter. But my soul has found a high and boundless free world, which my body cannot find.I would like to dedicate my "strange tears" and a ray of love to my overseas dream characters!
