Chapter 151 my thanks

A few days ago, a very young and talented female writer came to see me.Before leaving, she asked me to write a few words in her little notebook.I just wrote: I hope that when she has time, she will read more domestic classical literature and foreign literature, which will benefit her writing. (Actually, it means "use the past for the present, use the foreign for China".) After she left, I suddenly thought, why not introduce her to read "World Literature" often! I only know one foreign language—English, and I am not yet proficient.Reading or translating is always inseparable from a dictionary.Wouldn’t it be even more time-consuming to read literary works from other countries in the world in English?I am often troubled by this. Here, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the editors of World Literature.

I am a regular reader of World Literature.Over the past 30 years, through it, I have known writers from many countries and learned about social life and literature and art in many countries.Through its literature reviews, I learned about social changes and literary genres in many countries. Its editors and translators are very hardworking and responsible. They always select the most representative works and translate them from the original texts into Chinese. I would like to introduce this good teacher and helpful friend who helped me learn and understand foreign literature——"World Literature" to young authors and readers who have the same hobbies as me.
