After returning to Fuzhou, I went to the preparatory course of the Women's Normal School.

When the Republic of China was established, my father went to Beijing to take up the post of director of the Department of Military Studies of the Ministry of the Navy. In 1913, I went to Beijing with my family. In 1914 I entered a missionary school, Beijing Beiman Girls’ High School. After graduating in 1918, I entered Xiehe Women’s University, where I studied pre-science. Because my mother was weak and sick, I wholeheartedly wanted to study medicine. The May 4th Movement broke out in 1919. At that time, I was working as a secretary in the student union of Xiehe Women's University and wrote some propaganda articles.

Under the agitation of the "May 4th" revolutionary wave, I began to write something and published it in Beijing's "Morning News".Due to too many publicity activities, my science experiment class was affected, so I had to transfer to the Department of Literature to study.At this time, Xiehe Women's University had been merged into Yenching University. In 1923 I graduated from Yenching University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Golden Key Award. I also received a scholarship from Wellesley College for Women in the United States to study English literature in the United States.

In 1946 after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, I went to Japan.From 1949 to 1950, he taught the course "New Chinese Literature" at the University of Tokyo (formerly Imperial University). In 1951, after I returned to the motherland, I wrote "After Return" and other works, and my creative life opened a new page.People's Literature Publishing House, Beijing People's Publishing House, and Tianjin Baihua Publishing House published my novels and essay collections "Selected Essays of Bing Xin's Novels", "After Returning", "We Woke Up Spring", "Sakura Blossoms", "Picking Up Sui Xiaozha", "Wan Qing Ji" and so on.

In 1958, he began to write "Resend to Little Readers". Since 1954, I have been elected as a deputy to the National People's Congress.In 1978, he was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.In 1979, he was elected as a director of the Writers Association and vice-chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles at the 4th Congress of Literary and Art Circles.In the same year, he was elected vice-chairman of the China Association for the Promotion of Democracy.
