Under the vibration of the gunfire of the October Revolution, the patriotic enthusiasm and anti-imperialist and anti-feudal demands that rushed in the hearts of the people spewed out like magma.Students took to the streets, workers and farmers took to the streets, and patriots from all walks of life also took to the streets.The turbulent flow of people, like the turbulent waves breaking the shore, impacted the brutal rule of the warlords; the voice of "science, democracy, and freedom" pierced the suffocating darkness and brought new dawn to China.The people, the power of the people, changed the course of history.After the May 4th Movement, China turned from the old democratic revolution to the great new democratic revolution.

Thinking back to the era of the "May 4th Movement" and comparing it with the new life of socialism today, I really have a sense of two worlds.Over the past sixty years, how great the changes have taken place in our motherland!However, if socialism is good, can we say that everything is fine today? Can't say that yet.I will never forget a sentence Chairman Mao said: The future is bright, but the road is tortuous.Yes, advancing requires cutting down the thorns blocking the way, and victory requires paying a huge price.Then, how to remove obstacles and overcome difficulties so that our cause of socialist construction can develop faster?I think a very important one is to rely closely on the masses of the people under the leadership of the party.The power of the people is great.The May 4th Movement was such a force, which pushed forward the history; This force has once again pushed forward the progress of history; in the future, we will rely on this force that can overwhelm mountains and overwhelm seas to win the great victory of the "four modernizations" construction!

Foreign friends and our younger generation all have the habit of asking people to leave a message in the souvenir book.In recent years, I have often written two famous quotes to them, which are the true truths that I have gradually realized over the past few decades.These two sentences are: Chairman Mao: "The people, and only the people, are the driving force for the creation of world history." Premier Zhou: "Now is the century of the people, and everything is decided by the people." Yes, we have the ability to create world history, and we are the masters of history that answer questions.This is what our ancestors said, "everyone is responsible for the rise and fall of the world".However, it is not an easy task for everyone to take the rise and fall of the world as their own responsibility.This requires each of us to focus on the overall situation.
