Chapter 67 Ode to Geelong Beach

Rolling dark clouds roll in from the sky, and in the dark clouds are vicious beasts and poisonous snakes barking their teeth and claws. These are politicians, bureaucrats, manor owners, and capitalists, delusional to return to Cuba to rule the country. Equipped with tanks and planes of their American masters, they wished they could swallow the revolutionary people in one gulp. The people who are armed are bold and bold. The five militiamen stand like five mountains, and they would rather die than retreat to hold the enemy in Jilong Beach! The people who have suffered know the ups and downs, and the four peasant women, like four stone pillars under the bayonet, would rather die than feed the grain to these traitorous livestock!

The clarion call of battle rang through the mountains of Cuba, and the militiamen and soldiers flocked to Giron Beach like a furious tide! The women are commanding the passing teams on the highway, and the children are hurriedly posting leaflets of the Anti-Japanese War from door to door...Sprayed with bright red blood, sweating hotly, fighting for seventy-two hours into a red sun in the sky , Dark clouds all dissipate! People in Latin America and the world looked up in surprise, and the Caribbean Sea was still full of red flags and spring. The heroic Cuban people blocked another wave of aggression.

As long as you are not afraid of violence and difficulties, the original shape of the paper tiger will inevitably appear, and the path of revolution will inevitably become wider and wider. Let us always learn from Cuba's example, and let us always sing the praises of the fighting beach of Giron. (This article was originally published in the August 1964 issue of Newport.)
