Chapter 103 One of the problems of the oriental nation
A reporter from the Tokyo Minbo came and asked me to talk about the ethnic issues in Japan. However, I really haven't done much research on this issue. If I must write, I can only talk about my thoughts on the difficulties I encounter now, which is the problem of language and writing.
It has been two years since I came to Japan. Many Japanese people asked me about my impression of Japan, as well as the knowledge and understanding of most Chinese people about Japan.
I am very ashamed, because I don't know Japanese, and I can't directly read Japanese books and newspapers, nor can I talk to Japanese people directly.
I can only read some books and newspapers about Japan in Chinese and English, and talk to the maid who can speak Chinese and English. So my understanding and awareness is very dull and very limited.
Not only Japan, but also the languages of the East—the languages of India, Korea, Vietnam, and Burma. Therefore, there are walls between me and our Oriental nation, and it is difficult to exchange any information.
Eastern and Western nations have different understandings and judgments because of their different cultural backgrounds. Therefore, I cannot completely and absolutely trust Western books about Japan.
Therefore, I think that we should overcome all kinds of difficulties in the transportation of Eastern countries, reward cultural exchanges between countries like Western countries, send students, recruit professors, reward cultural people, artists, and journalists to travel, and give them more experience outside the Eastern world. Opportunities to study and study the language and history of the country, and to observe and understand the customs and customs.
Doing so, I think, will definitely help the unity and cooperation of the Oriental nation.
