The school motto of Yenching University is "serve with the freedom of truth". Why are we publishing this report?Because we want to commemorate the students of Yenching University—our classmates, who have served 15 million refugees in the five northern provinces in the past six months. The work of serving in the field is not just a few words of sympathy, shedding a few lines of tears of sympathy; It is to throw oneself completely among them, to share their sorrows, to reduce their sufferings, and to draw them to a happy and bright land. The greatest sacrifices in this work are physical strength, time, spirit, and finances. The most precious and unbearable sacrifices for our students are physical strength, time, spirit, and finances. However, this time, hundreds of students from our two-sex school, in order to fulfill our school motto, threw themselves joyously and bravely, and sacrificed everything.

We Yenching University students dare not be self-sufficient in this, nor dare to say that this is a large-scale service enterprise. ——We have recorded all the process of this work, half of which is to commemorate the current classmates, this social service work, and half is to look forward to future classmates, knowing that we were in 1921, the spirit of social service , have sprouted; or may inspire them to more fully confirm our school motto: "Serve with truth set free." (This article was originally published in the "Special Issue on Disaster Relief of YMCA" published in 1921, signed by Xie Wanying.)
