Some people live lonely lives and look for idlers to chat with.They keep track of the length of the day, the change of the weather, the development of careers and the like, and they don't hesitate to chat with anyone they meet by the arm. Mostly they do this at a window facing the street; they cannot stay long without a window facing the street.They seemed to want nothing, but wearily cast their eyes up and down the sky and the earth, and walked towards their window walls.They were unwilling, and in fact rarely looked back, until the noise of carriages and carriages below finally drew them into human harmony.
