Chapter 10 Part Two When I was Seriously Ill
When I was seriously ill, a few lines of poetic text clearly walked into my lethargy:
The final exercise is to walk along the cliff
In my dream I heard, soul
like a fly
buzzing at the window
In the quivering sun, dancing and singing
To look is to recall.
When I was seriously ill, I dreamed all day.Dream of familiar people, familiar past events, also dream of strange people, and completely strange scenery. When I wake up occasionally, there is a boundless dark night outside the window, a sudden clear sky, and doubts in my heart:
Who says I haven't died?
before birth, the sun
has risen and fallen countless times
Long time swallowed by long nothingness
in the name of my birthday
Comeback.
When I was seriously ill, there was a miracle in the cold winter——I learned a song in a dream. In the dream, a group of boys and girls sang in unison: "When the sun grows, the snow grows, and when the snow grows, the water grows. Our friendship and happiness will last forever."Inexplicable lyrics, unheard tunes, I can still sing them when I wake up, and I still can still sing them now. Those children, some I know, some I have never seen, they are standing in the yard of my childhood, singing softly, shaking gently, the surroundings are dark, and the snow is falling.
I don't know what kind of sign this wonderful song is.
People who know a little bit about medicine say it’s good—"Shengsheng" means that you still have to live; "Shengshui" means that the kidneys govern water. Isn’t your kidney broken? It means that your water of life is not exhausted, and may be abundant again.
Yeah?Not a little far-fetched?
However, I am more satisfied with the last two sentences: Our friendship and happiness will last forever.
The group of children who seemed real and illusory could not go away in my dark dream. The clear and bright children's songs are indeed like the water of life, rippling leisurely in my cold body.
My wife watches over me day and night; whenever I open my eyes, I see her by my side.I look at her like one of those kids.
I said, "This time, I'm afraid it's really coming to an end."
She said, "No."
I literally came back to life. The sun is heavy and real.Day and night change, heavy and sure. When I told my wife about the dream, she became weaker, and when I sang that song to her, she was already in tears.
I was able to go out again in a wheelchair, onto the balcony, into the yard, and in the early spring afternoon, I completed those few lines of verse in my dream:
In the afternoon, if the sun is silent
can you hear
Where has the past gone?
At the front of the light, or at the extreme of thinking
in the presence that time ignores
Life and death are the same.
