Khenpo Quzha, who was sitting under the living Buddha, also felt something strange happened on the ground. He remembered the great earthquake more than 30 years ago, and the temple was almost destroyed.He raised his eyes to look at the Living Buddha, and found that the Living Buddha was still in a meditative state sitting in lotus on the high seat.Therefore, the loyal old Khenpo had to interrupt his chanting, and bowed to the living Buddha's ear and whispered: "Living Buddha, the ground is shaking." "No," the Living Buddha said with his lips slightly parted, with a kind face, "someone is coming."

Gongba Living Buddha breathed a long sigh of relief, and a kind of auspicious pleasure quietly surged into his heart.The puja in the temple started at four o'clock in the morning, and now the sun has just climbed to the top of the mountain, and the lamas' morning tea is about to be served from the kitchen.Gomba Rinpoche estimated that travelers from far away would arrive at the temple at noon. Yundan Temple is a Red Sect ① temple located on a high mountain platform on the west bank of the Lancang River Canyon. On top of it is the Kawagebo Snow Mountain that towers into the sky. It is a famous holy mountain in eastern Tibet. Among the thirteen snow-capped mountains in China, it is the tallest and most majestic, like a stalwart man, standing between the sky and the earth.Because the sky at that time was pure and flawless, the brilliance of the sun and the moon were unimpeded in the sky, and the dust in the world was also very modest, and would never fly high into the sky and pollute the peaceful territory of the gods.Below the temple is the Wanren cliff, and under the cliff is the Lancang River that flows southward.In summer, the sound of the lamas chanting scriptures in the temple is accompanied by the roar of the Lancang River below them. It is often unclear whether the Lancang River is rushing out of the lamas' throats, or the lamas are dedicated to the sacred mountain and the mountains. The scriptures of the Buddhas rolled in majestic waves in the canyon.

Before the sun peaked, the lamas had finished their homework in the morning. Some lamas returned to their monastery houses, and some sat on the steps outside the main hall to bask in the sun.They were chattering about the strangeness of the earth in the morning. Some lamas said that he saw the sutra pillars in the hall shaking, and some lamas said that he almost fell off the futon.But they all said that since Gongba Living Buddha was still sitting on his Dharma throne without moving, they believed that the devil under the earth could not stand up. Gongba Living Buddha did not participate in the discussions among the lamas. He twisted Buddhist beads and stood by the gate of the temple, facing the north of the canyon, as if waiting for his long-lost guest.Gongba Living Buddha is a Living Buddha who doesn't talk much. His thin body is wrapped in a large cassock, but it can't hide the majesty and compassion radiating from him. The years of retreat and asceticism make him appear particularly forbearing and lonely. , like a respectable ascetic.But this is a kind of noble solitude, a kind of serenity that is weary of the world and detached from the world, which makes people feel admiration when facing him.Even the devil in the canyon could only bow and retreat when he saw him, not daring to turn around and run away.Because they also believe that even though their own sins are serious, in the face of the mercy of Gomba Living Buddha, the devil will have the hope of being reborn and reincarnated in the Three Good Ways②.

A hurried team finally came across the river from the east bank of the Lancang River in response to the prayers of Gongba Living Buddha.At that time, the figures of the people happened to be directly under their feet.They are two old men, three young lamas, and two horse drivers.Judging from the dust on their bodies, the accumulation of wind and frost from different regions on their faces, and the sun marks of more than four seasons, these people have been out for at least a year.But instead of showing any tiredness on their faces, they were full of perseverance and desire. Gongba Living Buddha went forward and said: "Guests from afar, all living beings in the valley are like barley seedlings in dry weather, waiting for your compassionate nectar."

An extraordinary old man bowed and presented a yellow khata to Gongba Living Buddha, and said humbly: "Ah, respected master, only a wise man who practices Buddha will know that we, beggars, are living in tatters. There is a compassionate heart hidden in his clothes." Gongba Living Buddha accepted the khata and said: "Your footsteps are heard from the earth, and the auspicious spring breeze brings the news of your approaching. Respected master, please go to the temple for tea." Sure enough, as Gongba Living Buddha expected, the two old men were eminent monks from a monastery in Lhasa, and they came to find the reincarnated soul boy of Luozhu Living Buddha who had passed away in their temple.The succession system of Luozhu Living Buddha has a long history and is as powerful as thunder, and it was conferred by the Chinese emperor.It and Yundan Temple belong to the inheritance system of the Red Sect.However, the Gongba Living Buddha is just a very small living Buddha. Compared with the reincarnation system of the Luozhu Living Buddha, it can only be compared with the stream and the Lancang River.The footsteps of people who shoulder the important task of searching for the reincarnated soul boy have traveled all over the land of Tibet and the sacred mountains and holy lakes on the snow-covered plateau. The deepest river in the world has come to the Lancang River Canyon.Because their living Buddha recited a beautiful poem when he was about to pass away:

under the bright moonlight, lend me a pair of wings, Fly to the distant Shambhala and come back. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and juxtaposed by rivers, The sanctuary of Shambhala is full of flowers, There are also two walnut trees that are green and shady, The tree is full of Buddha fruit. "Then, respected master, have you found your buddha destiny?" Gongba Living Buddha said to the guests. The old monk named Gerong was a well-known Geshe in Tibet. The Living Buddha Gompa once paid homage to his temple during a pilgrimage, and he knew that his education was as abundant as the Lancang River.There is also a plaque inscribed by the Chinese emperor on the main hall of his temple.Therefore, as soon as the old Lama Gerong came to the temple, Gongba Rinpoche felt that his small remote temple was full of splendor.He was so respectful to the old Lama Gerong that he even condescended to refill his tea himself.

The old Lama Gerong said: "We didn't find our Buddhist destiny on the east bank of the canyon this morning..." "I salute the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha," Gongba Rinpoche sighed happily, "the east bank, yes, is the territory of the Yellow Sect lamas, respected master, the Buddha's mercy should have benefited the west bank long ago. sentient beings." The old Lama Gerong didn't know that over the years, the red and yellow sects in the canyon have become incompatible on both sides of the canyon in order to be the spokesperson of the gods, to compete for the source of monks and believers, and even went against the Buddha's will. Swords of purpose meet each other.

"Buddha's compassion is everywhere." Old Lama Gerong pondered for a moment before saying.From the excitement of Gongba Living Buddha, he already felt that it is not easy for a weak sect to survive in the canyon area where the Yellow Sect is prevalent. "Before we entered the village just now, we saw a boy named Alasi. He is a very good boy." "Oh!" The always reserved Gongba Living Buddha couldn't help his lips trembling. "Alassi's father's name is Duji, and his mother's name is Yangjin. They are the names of the parents of Luozhu Living Buddha in my previous life; As described in that poem, there are also walnut trees. When we went, the child was peeling walnuts under the walnut tree."

"Oh, what a good fate." The Living Buddha Gongba suddenly became a little incoherent with excitement, "I gave him the name of that child, and I prophesied that he will be born in cassock in the future." "It's just..." Old Lama Gerong twisted the beads in his hand, and said regretfully, "There are three walnut trees in front of his house, not two." "Oh?" Gongba Living Buddha's body trembled, as if hit by a bullet.His eyes were wide open, and his mouth was too stiff to close. "We will continue to walk down the Lancang River Canyon." Old Lama Gerong said firmly.

"Ah!" Gongba Rinpoche sighed deeply.Even if there is a slight difference in the details of the motto left by the living Buddha in the previous life, it means that the Buddha's fate has not yet arrived.The cloud of auspiciousness in Gongba Living Buddha's heart was blown away in an instant.He sighed: "Could it be that the Buddha really couldn't grow in a land full of resentment? You don't know that for many years, the five poisons have flourished here, the Dharma has declined, evil methods have prevailed, sectarian disputes, and sentient beings are miserable. People desperately need the compassion of a living Buddha. " The old Lama Gerong comforted: "The compassion of the Gomba Living Buddha is enough to save the Dharma that has fallen in the valley." He also knew that if a living Buddha could emerge here, it would be a big deal for this small temple and this lonely living Buddha. What a great merit. "The little monk in the temple is cold, and his compassion is meager. We can only do our best." Gongba Living Buddha said. The old Lama Gerong said: "Respected Living Buddha Gomba, everything in the world can be reached. When the child grows up, let him come to me." Two days later, the soul boy search team from Lhasa left shaking the prayer wheel.No one in the canyon knew that a great living Buddha was almost reincarnated in this barren and dangerous canyon, and no one knew that an extra walnut tree grew out of a buddhist relationship, because the time of reincarnation was rotating to a wrong position. If it can be concluded as desired, a Buddha fruit that should have been cultivated will continue to endure the wind and rain in the canyon.Only the Living Buddha Gongba knows that the Buddha's predestined relationship will surely arise when the predestined relationship is ripe, just like the walnuts on the tree, when autumn comes, people will naturally pick them.Even if you don't pick it, it will fall by itself. ①One of the four major sects of Tibetan Buddhism, they are Red Sect (Nyingma Sect), Yellow Sect (Gelug Sect), White Sect (Kagyu Sect), and Flower Sect (Sakya Sect). ②The six realms of reincarnation in Buddhism, namely, climax, human beings, asuras, hungry ghosts, livestock, and hell. The places where all living beings are reborn are called the three evil ways. ③In the Buddhist scriptures, the "five poisons" refer to the five manifestations of human greed, anger, jealousy, ignorance, and doubt.
