Chapter 99 Law is a trap for the blind

Human society is much more complex than primitive species in the animal kingdom. This kind of complexity is because human nature is too simple-everyone is self-centered. It’s easy for a person to be self-centered, you can think whatever you like, and you don’t bother to care about you—but once there are two people, you are self-centered, and he is himself-centered, and you want him to go East, but he wants you to go west. You expect him to beat dogs, but he expects you to chase chickens. This constitutes the greatest dilemma for people to get along with each other.Just like Go, although the technique is so simple that it cannot be mentioned, the game itself makes the game complex and changeable.Even a national player who has been addicted to chess all his life will never see repeated chess games in his life. And precisely because there is no repetition in social communication, your personal will, and even your life experience, will inevitably encounter inapplicable troubles.

This extremely subtle feeling of the human heart comes from human nature itself and is invisible. We always know the existence of this subtlety through the final result. For example, you made a joke with your friend, but he immediately turned his back on you and kept fighting with you, or casually said something casually, which has already provoked someone to commit murder. This kind of thing is the worst thing in human society. A painful situation. This disharmonious factor in interpersonal relationships constitutes a trap in human society. Many times you step into it and still don't understand what's going on.The conflicts of human nature are like traps, if you step into it, you will fall to your death; like torrents, if you accidentally get involved, you will drift endlessly; like peaks, lying in front of your life, making it difficult for you to move forward. However, these traps, rapids and peaks are invisible to you, so no matter how cautious you are, you cannot avoid falling into them.

There are so many traps in human nature, but you just can’t see them. It’s like a blind man walking in a murderous swamp. Suffering, suffering lies in not being able to see the hidden conflicts of human nature, walking in the quagmire like a blind man. The Buddha called himself an enlightened person, which is what we most often call enlightenment. What is Enlightenment? It is to obtain—no matter how it is obtained—to obtain a kind of grand intellectual wisdom, to be able to overlook human nature from a high position, so that all kinds of hidden conflicts in human nature are fully displayed. This is like a blind man who is walking on a high peak suddenly gains sight. When he looks up, he sees that he is on a cliff, and he can't help but break out in a cold sweat from fright.

Confucianism becomes holy, Taoism cultivates truth, Buddhism becomes Buddha, and ancient Greek philosophers pursue the eternal truth, all of which are to seek the mysterious wisdom hidden in our hearts.Confucianism claims that those who have acquired this kind of wisdom can achieve the state of being invulnerable to weapons, fire and water. It's not that you have become a more peculiar and advanced life phenomenon like a god, but that the laws of conflict in human society are all in your eyes, just like a discerning person jumping over a small ditch or bypassing a trap, it's all natural. And those who are far from wisdom, like the blind, fall into the trap one after another, and no one can stop their urge to seek their own death like moths to the flame, because they can't see the rules, and they are stunned by the rules. It is inevitable to cry for father and mother with bloody head.

After countless times of embarrassing torment, Mr. Yangming finally obtained a breakthrough in wisdom in Longchang. From that day on, the world in his eyes was completely different from before. Although he knew a little bit of human nature before, that kind of knowledge is like a blind man walking at night with a stick, and he must be cautious.Because he couldn't see the rules, he didn't know where the conflict was lurking, he could only assume that there were traps everywhere, and he didn't dare to let go even on the flat road. This kind of rigidity and caution will look very ridiculous. And in the end, he still couldn't avoid the trap. As a result, he was stripped of his pants and spanked outside the Meridian Gate, which made him very embarrassing.

Just as a discerning person will walk on the road of life calmly, Mr. Yangming, who has obtained the ultimate wisdom, has since then obtained the discretion over himself. Now no matter what he says or does, it makes sense, just like no matter how a discerning person walks, he will not let himself fall into a trap.At this time, Mr. Yangming will never encounter the troubles that ordinary people would encounter. So Mr. happily wrote a poem saying: Jiang Rixi wakes up in Xichun, and Jiang Yun flies to Chushanqing. Watching things at leisure is all business, and realizing the secrets of heaven quietly enters the dark.

The Tao is happy anywhere in danger, and the heart forgets that fish and birds are self-manifesting. There is no need to look for things in the Xi and Tang Dynasties, and listen to a song of Canglang hitting the soil. Mr. Yangming's poem expresses exactly the above truth.Especially the sentence: The Tao is happy wherever you are... This sentence means: Although there are mud traps all around me, I can see them, so I won’t fall into them. If you have the ability, let's talk about Taoism!
