Chapter 96 so say the masters

In fact, ultimate wisdom has nothing to do with benevolence, righteousness, morality, virtue, compassion, kindness, or conscience. It doesn't matter? If there is really no relationship between the two, doesn't this mean that the sages and wise men throughout the ages are all talking nonsense and fooling us? The sages and wise men throughout the ages have not fooled us.They have already advanced to the level of wisdom masters, why are they still fooling us?Are you bored? The sages and sages did not fool us, and their ideological and theoretical systems have nothing to do with ultimate wisdom. What is the meaning of this statement?

It would be interesting to explain this. You must know that although the modern scientific thought system is complicated and complicated, it has a clear outline. This outline is simply expressed as follows: First of all, the modern scientific knowledge system can be simply divided into two categories: instrumental subjects and knowledge subjects. The so-called instrumental disciplines are the basic tools we use to understand the world and establish a standardized knowledge system. There are three disciplines: philosophy, mathematics, and formal logic.Except for these three, the rest are knowledge-based disciplines established with the tools of philosophy, mathematics, and formal logic. The standard to measure whether a subject is scientific and valuable is to see whether it is applied to the three tool disciplines of philosophy, mathematics and formal logic. If someone works behind closed doors and creates a weird subject with special national conditions, but fails to apply these three tool subjects, then you must have encountered a liar.

To put it simply, just one sentence: the so-called scientific thought and knowledge system are constructed by philosophy, mathematics and formal logic, and are our cognitive standards for human society and the natural universe. In other words, if we classify the current scientific knowledge system, the division is as follows: Philosophy, mathematics, and formal logic dominate all knowledge systems. And other disciplines are lower than these three. If you do not master these three tool disciplines, you will not be able to freely create a scientific thinking and knowledge system. And even if you have mastered scientific thinking and related knowledge systems, you may not be able to master high-end tool discipline systems.

However, the ultimate wisdom we mentioned, the origin and truth of the world mentioned are higher-end than our tool disciplines, and are beyond the reach of our cognitive tools. Philosophy, mathematics and formal logic, for many people, are jerky enough. But in the face of ultimate wisdom, these three tool disciplines are not strong enough. If we must make an analogy, then, just as the blind perceive the external world through the sense of touch, all his perception of the world is based on the sense of touch. The sense of touch cannot describe color.Similarly, philosophy, mathematics, and formal logic, just as the touch of color cannot be described, cannot be used to express ultimate wisdom, and cannot be used to describe the truth of the world.

Referring to ultimate wisdom, the Zen master said: Speak a word and you lose it. Just as the blind do not have the tools to recognize color, just as the deaf do not have the tools to recognize rhythm, we also do not have the tools to recognize ultimate wisdom and thoughts. There is no tool to describe the ultimate wisdom, so the sages and sages who realized the ultimate wisdom cannot describe it to us in detail. The best they can do is tell us how to find ultimate wisdom. Although ultimate wisdom has nothing to do with benevolence, righteousness, morality, virtue, compassion, kindness, or conscience, if you have benevolence, righteousness, compassion, and the pursuit of virtue , Pursue kindness, and seek your own conscience, then your cognitive perspective on the world will shift from the outside to the inner inspection of yourself. And just as Wang Yangming said: My nature is self-sufficient...Since my nature is self-sufficient, I should try to minimize friction with others, and I should not ask for it from others, but instead seek it from myself.

Conversely, if you are not benevolent, righteous or compassionate, not kind and not interested in virtue, you are more likely to destroy your own conscience. At this time, you will focus on others, and this kind of attention will inevitably make you Stay away from wisdom and thought. So say the masters.
