Once the real dragon descends on his courtyard, there will be thunder and thunder, and the heavy rain will blow away the roof tiles. He is so scared that he hides under the bed and dare not come out.The Zen master's writings, like this, often shock scholars and good people to their wits.

Ci: Xuefeng showed the public saying: Pick up as much as possible, as big as a corn grain, and throw it in front of you.Paint buckets don't know how to play drums. As much as possible, this sentence can be discussed in various ways.Or to say that a pinch of land is as big as a grain of corn is what Zhuangzi said that Mount Tai is as small as an autumn hair, and that everything is equal.In other words, a pinch of the earth is thrown in front of you, which means that all things and the Dharma are in front of you.It is also said that if you throw the earth around, where are your people? ...and so on.But listening to Zen Master Huanwu said: "Although the ancients say so, they don't mean it. He didn't make these comments for you, which makes people feel at ease again."

It turned out that Zen Master Xuefeng's words of pinching the earth were just a joke.It's just like the prosperity of the Book of Songs.So Zen Master Xuefeng said again: Since everyone doesn't know how to do it, why don't you come and play drums and do fortifications.Hole!Hole!Hole!The big drum in the temple was beating, and the monks and the Tanyue people who came to burn incense in the temple gathered in the open space of the yard to do fortifications, so everyone and the soil, plants, trees and sunshine in front of the temple were happy, and the problem just now seemed to disappear.

Zen Master Xuedou said: The bull's head is gone, the horse's head is back, and there is no dust in Caoxi's mirror.Playing the drums, it seems that if you don’t see it, for whom will the flowers bloom in spring. This verse seems to contain both positive and negative meanings, but it is only one meaning when viewed carefully.This verse is a new explanation of the "All dharmas are only consciousness" proposed by Master Xuanzang. The first three sentences say that the universe surges from east to west, and from south to north, all are in my enlightenment, like a mirror that remains motionless.The last two sentences say, but don't mistakenly think that the universe is subjective, and it exists only because of consciousness.Although you are gone, the flowers are still blooming when spring comes.Is this in consciousness?Is it not in consciousness?It is very difficult to explain satisfactorily in classical words, but it can be explained in poetry.Magnolia flower in Wang Wei's poem:

Jianhu is silent and no one is opening and falling After reading it, people feel that there are no deficiencies, no subjective and objective problems. I can't remember which Zen master in the Song Dynasty or Ming Dynasty said it. He said, "Ask the Buddha's words like hearing the words of an enemy."The universe is all love affairs, and the leaked spring is economics.Song Hong from The Story of the West Chamber: Madame you must rest and rest, Why bother to pursue it? So Zen Master Xuefeng didn't ask people to pursue a sentence, but everyone came to beat drums and do fortifications. If it was early summer, everyone should go to the fields to plant seedlings.There is no one in Jianhu, where there are magnolia flowers in the drum, and they bloom and fall one after another.
