Chapter 1 Zen is a flower preface

Zen is a flower 胡兰成 2219Words 2018-03-19
Zen is a flower preface When Hu Shi wrote the history of Chinese philosophy in the Middle Ages, he focused on Zen. This is his extraordinary insight.Hu Shi did not understand Zen koans, but his research on the history of Zen monks was extremely beneficial.I read Zen books, and I intuitively know that Zen was not created by Bodhidharma, and Zen is a Chinese thought, not Indian.I don't like Huike's broken arm and Lixue. It's still credible to have his arm chopped off by a thief.I am very happy to read Hu Shi's textual research.Hu Shi made two major contributions to the old Chinese learning: one is the textual research on the author of "Dream of Red Mansions", and the other is the textual research on Zen.Hu Shi's textual research on the Dream of Red Mansions and Zhang Ailing's "Nightmare in the Red Mansions" make us understand the beauty of the Dream of the Red Mansions better; Zhang understands the literature of the Dream of the Red Mansions more directly than Hu Shi.Hu Shi's textual research on Zen is to make us better understand the goodness of Zen.

We should not belittle the thoughts of Zen just because the allusions of Zen are somewhat untrue. Eileen Chang's "Nightmare in the Red Chamber" proves that Dream of the Red Chamber is a creation, not an autobiography. In fact, it is still based on autobiography, and some facts have been transformed. But the literary value of Dream of Red Mansions will never be derogated by it.Not only literature, but also philosophy, and even science, may not affect the value of its thoughts and theories because of the fact that it is based on facts. For example, Faraday's electromagnetic field law was researched and made based on the ether. The existence of ether was questioned later, but the electromagnetic field law is still accurate.Another example is that Indian theorists often cite a rabbit as a metaphor in the moon, and then they know that there is no rabbit in the moon, so they can't belittle their thesis.

The conception of technology must be based on facts, but ideas such as literature and principles are only based on facts as a reason to arise.Historical views can be more real than historical facts, just as pictures are more real than photographs. Therefore, even some of them are fabricated, and they cannot be generalized as forgery. For example, Cao Xueqin's altered autobiography is a creation. The Zen tradition of twisting flowers and smiling at the Lingshan Meeting is similar to what Zhuangzi said about the Yellow Emperor, Yao and Xu You. There is no question of truth here, only good or bad, just like young people telling lies.Young people are fond of inventing ideal facts to others, and if it is true, it can be said to be truer than this.Nobuo Origuchi, a Japanese university scholar in modern times, said that the women's return songs in the Manyoshu of the Nara Dynasty were mostly lies, so it is good.Every time my brother was annoyed at Seventh Sister's lying, and after reading Nobuo's words, he liked her even more.

I also like the lies in some parts of Zen, such as the story of the smiling flowers and the story of Hui Neng passing on clothes.Yihui said that children sometimes tell lies because they want to tell the truth. However, songs like Huike Broken Arm and Yongjia's Taoism Proving Songs are very badly faked and should be excluded. In the debate between Hu Shi and Suzuki Dazhuo, Hu Shi insisted on the historical facts of textual research, while Suzuki believed that Zen can surpass history, and so on, which is not as good as mine. But it is said that in China, from the Sui and Tang Dynasties to the Ming Dynasty, for more than a thousand years, the vitality of thinking lies in Zen.The idea of Zen is a machine word, inherited from the movements of the hexagrams and lines in the Book of Changes, and Zhuangzi's theory of equalizing things, which is not owned by Indian Buddhism.Chance lies in the apex of yin and yang changes. Indian Buddhism says that it does not know yin and yang because of cause and condition, so it does not know yin and yang. The Western world is a universe of matter and existence. They don't know nothing, they don't know life, and of course they don't know machine.Westerners only talk about conditions.Conditions are causal, while opportunities are leaps and supercausals. So Zen thought is really creative, and theory comes after that.

Chinese civilization is dynamic, so it is as powerful as Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang.China's institutional articles and the shape of utensils are all opportunities for vivid changes.Sun Tzu's Art of War also refers to the military strategy. The luck of history and the solar terms of mountains, rivers, plants and trees are all seen in the moment when they start. Lao Tzu said: "The opposite is the movement of the Tao." Confucianists know the success but not the movement.Huang-Lao knew the tricks, although the Confucians did not know the tricks, they knew the etiquette system. The scholars of the Han and Tang Dynasties used Confucianism as their technique and Huang-Lao as their use, so they were able to start a new dynasty. After the Song Dynasty, scholars specialized in Confucianism, Confucianism specialized in Neo-Confucianism, and imperial examinations specialized in stereotyped essays. They all became useless people. But Zen monks, apart from scholars, also came out to be heroes, such as Yelu Chucai who assisted Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan in the Yuan Dynasty, and Yao Guangxiao who persuaded the King of Yan to raise troops in the Ming Dynasty. Before the death of the Song Dynasty, Zen master Zu Yuan went to Japan. He made Hojo Tokimune, who was going to be a military officer at that time, decide to attack the invading Mongolian soldiers.

The Zen monk experienced the killing and destruction of Luoyang by Erzhu Rong in the Northern Wei Dynasty, and the chaos of the Yellow Dynasty in the Tang Dynasty. Without merit, a lot of theoretical knowledge is usually useless in the end, but Buddhists have ambitions, they become fierce and loud, but their substance is indifferent, such as Zen Master Ma Zu, Zen Master Linji, Zen Master Huan Wu, and Zen Master Zu Yuan . Mazu Daoyi and the Sixth Patriarch promised him that "the horse tramples and kills the people of the world", I love this saying, and Li Yishan's sentence, because there is a poem written by him, the poem says:

The horse tramples and kills the people of the world With a crescent smile, the country falls Zen language is not benevolent and poetry is dangerous The sun and the moon grow new flowers grow forever Yelu Chucai learned from a Zen master. He went out with Genghis Khan and watched the Mongolian soldiers kill like grass without degrading his eyes;Yelu Chucai is a poet, he looked up to the cruelty of the Mongolian army, and did not hurt his peace and silence towards Yihua.Yao Guangxiao was originally a Zen monk. He persuaded the King of Yan to raise troops against Emperor Jianwen. The King of Yan said: "There are people's hearts there, what can I do?" Yao replied: "I know the way of heaven, let alone the hearts of the people." He assisted King Yan to win the world, and he I can still have no intention of fame.

Zen is not like the impermanence of the world that Indian Buddhism says.Zen Buddhism affirms the opportunity for the formation and destruction of all things in the world, as Lao Tzu said, "the world is not benevolent", and the strong are attracted, not the weak.Zen monks don't say "good is good", but even Sakyamuni can be killed with a stick. Zen Buddhism is based on action and shape, and its last manifestations can still be found in the paintings of Muxi, Shitao and Bada Shanren. The paintings of Muxi, Shi Tao, and Bada Shanren are unique among the paintings through the ages.

But even though it is Zen, it is still good to be in contact with scholars, just like the water in the gate and the water outside the gate by the river.Prime Ministers like Fei Xiu in the Tang Dynasty and Ouyang Xiu and Su Dongpo in the Northern Song Dynasty all paid homage to Zen masters. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, when the scholars withered and humbled, Zen also shared the same loneliness as Huang Lao, and submerged and dissolved in various folk arts, such as the witty and lively part of Pingju, which is Huang Lao's and Zen.In Japan, Zen and Zen are found in kendo, tea ceremony and garden making. But these are just playthings after all, Huang Lao and Zen still need to reconnect with the scholars today, and only then can they come out to fight the country and bring chaos to the world because of political actions.

Biyanlu is regarded as the first book of Zen Buddhism in Japan. This book is a hundred gongan odes of Zen master re-emerged in Fenghua Xuedou Temple in the Northern Song Dynasty. Zen master Huan Wu, who was a generation later than him, added the instructions, words, and comments.Wu Wu lived in Biyan Room, Lingquan, Hebei, because he thought it was the title of the book.Biyanlu has been recorded for 850 years since then, but no one has been able to fully understand it.In recent years, Chinese literary circles in Taiwan have suddenly become popular with Zen rhetoric. Although the initial relationship is shallow, it is also a chance. Therefore, I wrote this Biyanlu Xinyu, explaining it in hundreds of public cases. The liberation of the way of thinking.

Zen is the wisdom practice of people with lofty ideals in troubled times.Speaking of the rise and fall of many countries in history, my cousin has a poem as a gift, which I like very much. The poem says: Doubts about personnel Heroes and rascals have real appearance Women's relationship plan Fisherman's gossip is epic I hope that the thought of Zen in my writing here will also have a kind of wind and sun.
