Chapter 1 preface

Maybe it's destiny. I fell ill after finishing writing this novel. It cannot be said that I became ill because of writing this novel, let alone that I became ill due to overwork. But these short two hundred thousand words are a watershed in my life. Before that, I could write novels with thousands of words or even tens of thousands of words a day for a long time, which once made my colleagues stunned. After that, because of my lumbar spondylosis, I could no longer sit at the desk and write a novel, or even a longer letter. For this reason, whenever I lie down on the bed to write, I often feel sad and tearful; and now, because of writing on my stomach for a long time, my neck pain continues, and there are few treatments that can be effective. When I have to write as a last resort, when I force myself to write on my back, no one can understand the nostalgia I have for sitting at a desk to write.I think that the happiest time in my life was probably the short and short few years when I was able to sit at the desk and write.

Whether this novel is worth reading or not, for me it is the most important part of my life. I started writing this small novel from the third chapter. After finishing the third, fourth, and fifth chapters, I went back to write the first and second chapters.Readers can also start reading from the third chapter, and then read the first and second chapters after reading.Of course, you can also read from the first chapter to the last chapter in turn, and you can read from whichever chapter you turn to with your eyes closed. This was originally one of my thoughts before writing. I did not pursue the natural and indivisible nature of a long novel that people say every day.People are busy nowadays, and few people sit down and read a long novel quietly. If a reader buys a book and goes back and reads a part of it, that book is considered worthwhile. Not to mention readers, most writers also buy a bunch of books home, read one or two of them, and sometimes just read one or two parts of one or two books, let alone reading books. What about readers who write books for a living?Of course, a book makes people want to read another part after reading one part, so it goes without saying that it is a good book. However, nature itself cannot determine whether a book is good or bad.As for some of the other attempts I made in the book, success and failure, or more failures, less success, or more success and less failure, that is not something I can say for sure. Everything in the book.

What I want to say is that God is kind enough to allow me to sit at the desk and write again one day. Even if I can write a novel that is thousands of times better than this novel, that novel may not be on my list. How much more important is there in life than this book. 1995.1.23 in Qinghe, Beijing.
