张世杰冲了过来，一脚踢飞了周银杏的枪，把周银杏扭住。周银杏的手下一起把枪对准张世杰：“放开周队长。”张世杰从口袋里掏出一张纸：“你们应该都认识我，我是张世杰，这是军区同意改编太白顶自由武装的电令，从现在起，这里由我指挥，你们带着周银杏下山吧。”把周银杏推到她的部下那边。周银杏恶狠狠看了看张世杰，又看了看郭冰雪，转身朝山下走去。张世杰跪在杨开泰身边，说道：“大哥，我来晚了，我带你下山找医生，你会没事的，我还要和你一起去参加淮海大战呢，一起干一番大事业……”杨开泰笑了一下，摇头说：“没用了，世杰，没用了，这一辈子，我注定走不出太白顶了。我在这儿待了十几年，头脑越来越糊涂，眼界越来越窄，心眼越来越小。世杰，我的弟兄们，麻烦你好好安排，他们中没有大奸大恶之徒，希望共产党别计较他们身上的小毛病，给他们一条生路。”张世杰说道：“你放心，我一定尽力。”杨开泰看着郭冰雪，对张世杰说：“冰雪和宝宝，也拜托给你了。冰雪她性子直，受不得委屈，你们共产党的队伍里讲出身，也不知道她将来要受多少苦。”郭冰雪紧紧抓着杨开泰的手：“开泰，只要你能好起来，我不再争强好胜，不再逼着你出人头地，我们带着宝宝，在太平镇做一户平常人家，安安稳稳过日子。”杨开泰说道：“可惜我不能陪你了。世杰，这世上我只有你这个真正的朋友，你答应我，照顾冰雪和宝宝。”张世杰咬着嘴唇点点头，泪水涌了出来。“带我下山吧，带我回太平镇吧，我累了……”杨开泰挣扎一下，头一歪，倒在郭冰雪怀里。郭冰雪紧紧接着杨开泰，喃喃叫道：“开泰，开泰——”张世杰哭出了声。“大哥——”杨开泰的部下哭叫着围了过来。刚好走出寨门的周银杏听到后面的哭声，身子一颤，踉跄几步，借势发疯一般朝山下冲去。山风呼呼刮着，把她的泪水刮落在树枝上、山道上，她在心里不断地对自己说：“不是我开的枪，是郭冰雪害了他，不是我，是郭冰雪。大哥，我要为你报仇，我要杀了郭冰雪，我要让她为你偿命……”
周银杏回到分区直接进了孟副司令的办公室，把门关上了。孟副司令说道：“小周，你回来了，怎么样，太白顶拿下来没有？”周银杏扬起红彤彤的脸，温柔地说：“老孟，你真的想娶我吗？”孟副司令马上迎上去说道：“想，我一直都想，做梦都在想！不过你说要等到革命彻底胜利之后，再谈个人问题，我也不好……其实，革命已经差不多胜利了……”
