夜色中，白受天这伙人戴着面罩、身着夜行服在丛林里鬼鬼祟祟地穿梭，突然从前方的树丛里传出“嗖”的一声，随即一个梭形的铁镖扎到了前方不远的一棵大树上。 白受天脸色一沉，他听说过这种东西，是东北胡子用来警示对手的物件，叫做“鬼叫魂”。他急忙冲身后的人一挥手，然后立刻躲到一棵大树后面，手枪举起来的同时，低喝道：“什么人？” “蘑菇，你哪路的？哪边走？”黑暗中传出对方低沉的声音。 白受天混迹警察厅多年，土匪也接触的不少，黑道上的名堂自然明白，此时一听就知道对方说的是黑话，意思是“你是什么人，干什么来的？”他心里稍微松了一口气，至少眼前这伙人不是日本人，但“胡子”也令他头疼，东北的土匪天不怕地不怕，正规部队都不放在眼里，更不用说警察了。如果搬出警察厅的名头，未必就能好使，而且对面的人虽然说的是黑话，但如果是伪装成土匪呢？在没弄清对方的身份之前，他也不能暴露身份。
