Chapter 56 From the black-eyed gaze, learn the compassionate gaze (54)

Just beside a quiet lake, a small road leads to "Yunshan Temple".The dusty name of the temple attracted me deeply, as if there was a quiet ancient temple on the top of the green hill covered by white clouds, waiting for me to go. Under the warm sun in late autumn, I want to visit Yunshan Temple gradually along the steep hillside.Countless orange flowers climb all over the mountain wall. If you look carefully, the center of the yellow flowers is purple-black. Isn't this just black eyes? The mountain wind blew by, and the deep and dark eyes in each yellow flower trembled slightly, looking at me curiously.

Under the gaze of black eyes, I went up the mountain all the way.The kudzu vines stretched along the road, covered with strings of purple flower spikes, filled with fragrance, and bees and butterflies shuttled back and forth. The entire mountain path is empty, only the sound of the wind is mixed with the chirping of cicadas. When we arrived at Yunshan Temple, it was even more quiet here. The hibiscus in front of the court blooms and falls by itself, the sweet-scented osmanthus wafts its fragrance, and there is a tall grapefruit tree, the grapefruits fall all over the ground, and no one hears about it... This scene is very similar to what is written in "Han Shan Poetry": "Yaoyao Cold mountain road, falling into the cold stream. There are often birds chirping, and there is no one in silence. The wind blows on the face, and the snow accumulates on the body. I don’t see the sun in the morning, and I don’t know the spring in the years.”

Time seems to have stopped here, the hustle and bustle disappeared without a trace, and the troubles stopped running. I stepped through the red patches under the flame tree, only to disturb the falling flowers. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is enshrined in the main hall. The kind face of Avalokitesvara exudes a peaceful and compassionate power. I bowed devoutly, praying for protection like a wandering child throwing himself into the arms of a loving mother.I know that even in the mountains and wilderness, the Bodhisattva is always by my side, never far away. Standing in front of the temple and looking far away, the mountains are dense, the clouds are misty, and the lake is flowing quietly, just like the tears of Guanyin.

I remembered a beautiful legend in Tibet: One day, Guanyin Bodhisattva looked at the Saha world with loving eyes, and saw all beings still in the karmic net of greed, anger, and ignorance, suffering so much, and instantly, two lines of crystal clear tears were like lotus flowers Like the tears dripping from Guanyin's eyes, it turns into "Tara"-the teardrop in the left eye turns into the gentle White Tara, and the teardrop in the right eye turns into the fierce Green Tara. Since then, Tara has helped Avalokitesvara to save all living beings. They are the most beautiful and compassionate goddesses in Tibetan Buddhism, and they are the embodiment of Avalokitesvara's compassion.

When going down the mountain, the large black eyes on the mountain wall are still in full bloom, watching everyone who goes up and down the mountain, just like the Guanyin Bodhisattva of Yunshan Temple, gazing at all the sufferings in the world and the suffering beings with compassionate eyes.In this deep gaze, there is deep compassion. In fact, everyone also has a pair of eyes of compassion. If we can look at each other with eyes of compassion, there will be less suffering in the world! (This picture is provided by Wu Xiaodan)
