Chapter 16 Morning glory, dew, life, all three are impermanent (14)

Beside the mountain path, several huge purple morning glory are blooming wantonly, and under the sunshine, they are full of vitality.I stepped on the mountain path full of fallen leaves, staring at the morning glory, even if I walked far away, I couldn't help but look back, feeling that the lake in my heart reflected the bright purple in this green field. Two days later, in the same place, the morning glory disappeared as if out of thin air, and even the fallen flowers disappeared without a trace.Only then did I remember that the morning glory blooms in the morning and fades in the evening. It is also called "Chaoyan". How could I forget it?

The Japanese waka collection wrote: "Human life is the most impermanent, just like the dewdrops on the morning glory." It seems that not only the dewdrops on the morning glory appear and disappear in an instant, but even the life of the morning glory is so short. Morning glory, dew, life, all three. The Buddhist scriptures say: "In this world, life has no belonging and is unknowable. Just as ripe fruits are in danger of falling, those who are born are always in danger of death. ... The destination of all people is death." How real a fact death is, like the passing of days and nights, the fading of flowers, and the end of life.Death symbolizes the ultimate loneliness of life. When one leaves the world, everything once owned suddenly turns into a phantom, and one returns to loneliness after all.The problem is that we never know when the god of death will appear, but we are always faced with the attack of the god of death. The god of death took away all our family members, friends, and finally took himself away, telling us that everything will end in dust.

I often think, those who have accompanied me in the past years, where did the god of death take them? How I miss them!Although "the god of death can't separate us permanently, but it's like the flowers on the top of the wall climbing to the other side of the wall and blooming, invisible but still there..." But inside the wall and outside the wall are two different worlds, not to mention Is the distance between life and death just a wall? "The lonely sail of the old man is far away, and the smoke and water on both sides of the river are vast, leaving infinite melancholy."

Perhaps it is because life is short that people will think about how to live a profound and meaningful life, and learn to cherish the current karma, not to waste life, and to be kind to themselves and others. The Buddha taught us to commit ourselves to: "Before the body is destroyed, we have already got rid of greed, do not cling to the past and present, and do not worry about the future", so that we can survive the impermanent storm of real life; death comes At that time, the heart has lived in silence, without fear. At the end of autumn, I walked along the mountain trails and felt that the autumn was far away. I was saying goodbye not only to the past time, but also to those few morning glories that suddenly fell, and the passing of life.
