Chapter 9 forever in my heart

light life 林清玄 548Words 2018-03-18
My mother is a typical peasant woman. In the past, peasant women almost never rested. Besides raising children, they also had to plow the fields. In order to increase their income, they have to raise pigs and grow vegetables as a sideline; in order to reduce expenses, they have to sew clothes for their children by themselves at night. In my memory, my mother is always very busy, and there are a few images that are deeply imprinted in my mind. There is a scene: she asks my elder brother and I to sit quietly in front of the pig house, and she washes the pig manure with my youngest brother behind her back. My mother is short, we sit outside the pig house and look in, only her head It was higher than the pigsty, so she and her younger brother's heads were up and down there, as if they were fighting in a big wave.

There is a scene: during the busy farming season, the father and uncle who work in the fields always have a snack before noon to satisfy their hunger.Desserts are usually salty porridge, made from the leftovers and brown rice from last night. My mother carried the salty porridge along the field ridge, which was only one foot wide, and strenuously walked towards the field. The two buckets she picked were bigger than her body. Much more, it felt as if the bucket was carrying her instead of her picking the bucket, and then a high-pitched voice would be heard: "Come! Come and eat the salty porridge!" It could be heard from miles away.

There is another scene: as long as a child in the family is sick, she will go to the temple to burn incense and worship. Every time I see her kneeling in front of the Bodhisattva, her eyes are closed, and she is praying in her mouth, I feel that my mother’s face is really beautiful. It is as beautiful as the Bodhisattva on the divine table, no, more beautiful than the Bodhisattva, because the mother has real flesh and blood.Everyone's mother is a Bodhisattva, and the mother's heart is the Buddha's heart! Because I deeply remember the images of those scenes of my mother, no matter how much adversity I encounter, I can still work hard and have a grateful heart.

It also made me never say a word against my mother from my childhood to the present.
