Chapter 16 no sweat exercise

full moon 林清玄 508Words 2018-03-18
A friend invited me to go to the club of the big hotel to do fitness exercises. The gym is a huge machine with a very complicated structure. My friend explained to me that each machine has different functions. To train hand muscles or leg muscles is very different, and different parts must be pulled or pushed. Then we worked different muscles around the machine until we were sore and panting, but we didn't break a sweat because the air conditioning in the gym was so strong.I felt a sense of the absurd and stopped working out. When I walked out of the restaurant, the sweat all over my body seemed to be borne for a long time, and suddenly sprayed out from all the pores of my body. At this time, I deeply felt that it was really a happy thing to be able to sweat profusely during exercise.

Thinking of the era of rural society in the past, we all worked in the fields, and sweat often dripped into the fields. Working in nature is not only the best exercise, but also the best fitness. At that time, we ate simple food, so we didn’t have excess fat, we lived a simple life, so we didn’t suffer from high blood pressure and heart disease, and we sweated hard, so we didn’t suffer from insomnia and neurasthenia. What now?We eat excessively nutritious food, live a complex and busy life, use our brains too much every day, and our bodies are not working hard. We can only use exercise—exercise in the gym—to prevent the deterioration of our body and mind. It's like blocking the river!

Many people in our society take a long time to get out of the working life, and soon find that many precious things are also lost with the working life. Thinking about it now, it’s good to be able to work, it’s good to be able to sweat, it’s good to eat simple food and live a simple life!
